Dark stumbled backwards at the hit his wings flapping a bit awkwardly before he folded them loosely at his sides once again. That was not what he had hoped for. That had actually rather hurt and it hadn't worked at all. He shuddered as the taunting words ghosted over him. "She's not a thief!" He growled backing away suddenly tossing his head about trying to shake the disgusting feeling of Krad's breath on his ear. His eyes widened then narrowed as he realized what he had just said. For one such as him to let something so important slip made him feel sick. He felt like he was playing exactly like Krad wanted him to.
He wanted to say something that would make it as though he had never spoken but he couldn't think. Krad had this way of getting under his skin and make him worry more then anything. Ordinarily he would fly away of course on a normal day the blond was chasing him down like a mad man.

Sidestepping away easily as Dark flailed and twitched himself back into order, Krad couldn't keep a grin from comming to his lips. It should be nothing to the pain he'd caused Dark before, and it certainly made the other stop his foolishness for the moment. At the other's snarl, he blinked and let out a sudden bark of laughter, followed by soft snickering. "A female? You've been bested by a female?" He asked, voice a mixture of disbelief and amusement. This was an unusual situation. "How...curious." He chuckled, tossing his head and perking his ears slightly, the long lock of hair infront of his face flicking lightly before settling. "The great self proclaimed ladies man....bested by a female." The blond continued, sounding mocking, as well as amused now.

"I wasn't bested!" He snapped pawing at the ground dearly wishing he had the claws of a skinwalker or the horns of a kalona right now. This was what he'd been worried about and he knew nothing short of killing his counterpart would stop his relentless torture. His wings flickered irritably as he stood, a piercing glare on his face, listening. He was tempted to insult Scarlet in a poor attempt to save what was left of his dignity. It was something he couldn't bring himself to do. No mare deserved words like that no matter what rare gems and jewelery they'd dumped into a frigid lake.
It took more effort then it really should have to keep from showing Krad the frustration he felt right now. Without any physical signs Dark composed himself and begin to move in a slow circle around Krad. "Trying to hide your jealousy Krad?" He asked reverting to his usual 'I'm-ten-times-better-then-you'll-ever-be' voice.
He had never understood why he hated the other and tried to piss him off so much. He suspected it was just the way he spoke to Dark as though he was a fool. It could also have to do with the blond's girly hair or his stupid obsession with the thief of course it could just be how the other wanted to kill him. Suddenly, it all made sense.

"Very well. Outsmarted then?" He asked, one ear perking forward as a smirk curled one corner of his lips upwards. He'd find out what was bothering Dark, who was the mare that had the other in such a twist. He was far to curious to let it go now. And besides, it would be just one more thing to rile the other male up with.
Krad rolled his eyes and gave an amused snort. "Hardly. I have no reason to be jealous of anyone except perhaps the mare who has outsmarted you like this. I think I could get alone with her quite well. What did she look like?" He smirked, tossing his head as he turned and paced in a circle, mimicing the other's movements. Tail flicking, he glanced sideways at the lake as he passed nearby, wondering just what was hidden within the chilly depths. Something valuable enough to bother Dark with its loss.
The blond sometimes couldn't help but speak to his opposite the way he did. Dark could be fairly dense and foolish at times and it was a rather natural reaction to point that out, at least in the blond's mind it was. They were opposites, Krad was everything Dark wasn't and vice versa, so they really couldn't help but dislike the other. Which was one of the reasons Krad chased Dark like he did. The kaitou was what Krad could never be and the blond hated him for it sometimes. Especially when the violet haired male flaunted it over the blond. But kill...he really didn't desire the kaitou's death any longer. It seemed a...shallow desire to Krad now, while he was sane at least. After all, if Dark was dead, who would Krad chase about and trade insults with?

The thief could feel his blood boiling again but he willed himself to keep a cool head. That would be the last time he spilled information about Scarlet anymore and he could make her into a threat. "Trust me there's nothing to be jealous of..." He muttered under his breath forgetting that no one else had seen what had happened though that would be a good thing.
"I'll just say she's prettier then anything you'll ever get close to." He said not thinking that he was proving Krad's point. Saying she was beautiful was just saying that he was dumb enough to follow her blindly.

Ears flicking, he watched the other, eyes half narrowed in amusement. "What's her name?" He asked, head tilting curiously, unable to keep from grinning wider, almost mockingly at Dark's next words.
"I do not have the slightest interest in mares of any sort, pretty or not. After all, look where it got you." He didn't comment any further on how easily swayed and led Dark was by a pretty female. Krad would never be able get any useable information out of his opposite if he continued to provoke him further. Even if it was rather entertaining.

The lips of his mouth turned up in a mocking grin as a single thought reached his mind. Tossing his head to the side he opened his mouth as if to say something but no sound came out. Some how accusing the insanity prone stallion before him of being queer didn't seem like a good idea. The white stallion hadn't attacked him yet despite all his prodding and button pushing.
Slowly his posture shifted. His wings rustled a bit relaxing from there previous ready to spring at any moment position. His head righted itself and he allowed himself to loosen up making him look more like he in the comforts of home rather then in the face of an enemy. He hadn't attacked him yet. He had to keep that thought in his mind or he was likely to fall back into his 'ready to flee' mode.
"Named her Scarlet." He said simply still half waiting for Krad to attack. A name wouldn't do much harm he figured. There had to be at least a dozen Scarlet's roaming these lands.

Krad wasn't queer. Actually, he wasn't much of anything, except maybe a bit mad and off-balanced. It was just that he had no interest in mares that way. Or in anyone that way for that matter. It was all a waste of time in his mind. He had better things to occupy his time.
Ears perking as he watched the other relax, he smirked wider. It was an improvement, a semi-relaxed Dark. Granted he didn't blame his darker half for being tense, but why continue to be when there was no attack forthcomming? At least, not yet. But Krad had no interest in attacking Dark during this encounter, unless the other really managed to piss the blond off. It was a small victory to have the other not ready to flee at a moment's notice. Maybe civilized conversation could take place. It would be a welcome change from their usual encounters.
"'Named her Scarlet'?" He echoed, ears tilting back slightly at the odd phrasing of the response. "You named her? Didn't she had a name of her own?" He asked, head tilting as he shifted his wings, stretching them before folding them back carefully. Krad should be careful not to make any threatening or sudden moves. It might spook Dark off.

"I figure she has one...she just doesn't seem to remember it." He said dropping his guard all but completely. He hadn't been attacked yet and it didn't feel like he was going to so why bother being so tense. He wasn't quite sure he was in his right mind or even comfortable with sharing this information with his opposite but at the same time he couldn't seem to help himself. Strangely enough he had been waiting for a time like this, where he could let people in on his and her secret. The thief just hadn't anticipated that the subject would come up with...present company. In fact he never thought present company would show up anywhere.
"Look...you really want to know about what happened?" He asked not entirely sure where the words had come from. Certainly not from his mouth. His surprise spread all the way to his face as his mouth fell open slightly eyes wide with shock. "Uhh...forget...don't..." He sighed tossing his head to the side a bit agitated. He just seemed to be spitting out all kinds of things he didn't mean to say today and so far the angel hadn't missed those. Why would he drop this one?

Krad's ears flicked back briefly at the mention of not remembering. He could understand that. The blond haired stallion had had periods of time where he couldn't remember things he'd done, places he'd been. It was disconcerting and he could believe that one could forget something like their name or where they came from. "That was...considerate of you. To give her a name." He said carefully after a pause, ears perking back forward once more. What else could he say to that? He certainly not going to taunt the other stallion about an act of nobility towards one in need. He was not quite so cruel...Not about something like that at least.
Head tilting, he narrowed his eyes at the other male in amusement at the surprised expression on Dark's face. The sudden offer of an explanation came as much of a surprise to the blond as it must have been to the one speaking the words. Krad was just better at hiding it. "Tell me....if you feel like it." He added, giving the other male a choice in the matter. A far cry from what Krad would have done in the past. This whole encounter was far from what would have happened in the past. They wouldn't have been talking at all, had Krad been caught in one of his fits when he'd run into his opposite half.
It was good thing he'd woken to a calm morning.

Dark wasn't sure if he should be annoyed by the blond saying he was being considerate. It didn't sound like he was being sarcastic but then it was hard to tell with him at times. "It wasn't like I could just keep calling her 'you'." He said settling for something between thanks and sarcasm. Being friendly had never been so hard before. Social grace had always been something Dark had been blessed with, it was a useful skill when it came to picking up mares, but talking with Krad was awkward. Maybe he was scared that the wrong thing would set the other on a rampage? It didn't seem like it was likely because he was no longer pushing at buttons but the possibility was still there.
It seemed like Krad was having just as many problems as he was. The thought made him feel better and he had almost laughed hearing the words 'if you feel like it' come out of the angels mouth. It felt almost like they were meeting for the first time. Almost like all their past encounters had never happened. Almost. There was still an underlying tension to the whole situation that would keep him from being entirely at ease but it wasn't so bad that that he was even considering running anymore.
Now the big question? Did he feel like telling Krad? Was the whole thing just going to blow up in his face let the blond get one more cruel joke in on him? He wished that he'd just said 'tell me' at this point, then it wouldn't feel so weird speaking. "Look it's a bit long so you may want to lay down or something..."He said before letting out a heavy sigh.
"I found Scarlet out here a few months ago...I thought she was just some other mare. A lot of the time I forget she's not." At this point he found himself staring off at the lake right where she'd been standing when he found her. "I thought she was dead," He said with a bit of a laugh, "When she didn't respond to anything I did. She's strange like that. She won't do anything unless you tell her to. I got fed up with her at one point asked her one question so I'd be able to leave again but she answered wrong. She said she knew just the place so I let her help. Dumped the whole load right into the lake." At this point his voice sounded a bit like he was insane. Really he just couldn't decide whether he was happy to tell this or if he was pathetic. "Can't get rid of her now..."

"Hasn't stopped some before." He responded absently with a slight shrug of his shoulders, wings rustling with the movement. Krad wasn't referring to Dark with his comment but others the blond had seen who wouldn't ask about someone's name because either they couldn't be bothered or just plainly didn't care. But such was the way of the world. Krad hardly cared and at times would rather some not know his name at all.
Problems...Krad had many of them, this oddly peaceful, tension filled meeting being just one of them. But he was able to get past most of them for the time being, concentrating on keeping Dark from getting nervous once more and not wanting to talk. It was odd. Under different circumstances, Krad would have rather Dark keep his mouth shut, since sometimes his opposite could talk far too much at times. But if the violet haired male would rather not talk about his encounter with the strange sounding mare...Scarlet, then for once Krad would not force him.
"I would rather stand." He said simply, not wishing to lay down around Dark. It would leave him vulnerable to an attack, which he could not help but be wary of. It was such a fragile peace between them and the black winged male might be willing to break it if he had a chance to get rid of someone he seemed to hate so much. No. Krad would keep on his feet no matter how long the story might be.
Head tilting, he listened to the oddly distant words of the other male, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. She only did what she was commanded to do...Except for the sly bit of dumping Dark's treasures in the water. Then again, it sounded as if Dark had told her to hide his things, not specifying that he'd want them within reach. So maybe this was more Dark's fault than the mare's. Krad wasn't about to point this out, not since Dark seemed so....agitated over the whole ordeal. But he wasn't sure what to say to the story. It was a touchy subject and a careful answer would be needed to keep Dark from getting pissed off. And being careful of his words around Dark was not something the blond was accustomed to.
He continued to be silent, looking out over the water with a neutral expression on his face, being rather successful in hiding the mirth he felt at the other's misfortune. Shifting, he paced slowly closer to the other male until he was standing beside him, a respectable distance between them, giving Dark a brief glance out of the corner of his eye. "How far out was it all thrown?" He asked quietly, tilting one ear back slightly, a thoughtful expression on his face. He had a vague idea turning about in his mind, but telling Dark about it would be even tricker than keeping him from running.

He wasn't laughing, not even a smirk played over that cold face. It was surprising very surprising. He really was like a different horse now. He wanted to know what caused the change but asking 'hey, when'd you stop acting like a psychotic jerk' didn't seem like a good thing. He was actually just likely to piss the other off but the thought of it made the corner of his mouth twitch up in a smile for a brief moment. It was at that moment that he noticed Krad approaching.
For a brief second he thought his counterpart had seen the half smile and was angry for some reason. He held his breath waiting for a blow he was sure would come but instead the white clothed stallion simply stopped by his side and asked a simple question.
Dark's brows furrowed slightly in confusion. Why would he want to know a thing like that? Trying to understand what the blond was thinking hurt his head so he gave up and turned his head to look the other over. He wasn't shaking with laughter and his eyes looked serious, as always. This wasn't a joke? "Not too far..."He answered finally locking his gaze on the spot where Scarlet had stood. She had only been about five feet from the shore but there had been a huge drop off only a foot from there.
Assuming the other would want to see he stepped forward just far enough to unfurl his wings without smacking Krad upside the head. "Here, I'll show you..." Beating his wings a few times to warm up he leapt off the ground and took off flying low. There really was no point in flying but it did cut the time down. He touched down in the cold water just along the shoreline. from this point he was close enough to see the drop off but not so close that he could be pushed in.

Krad hadn't really changed. This was just another facet of his personality, one where the madness was locked away. He couldn't foresee how long this rather easy mood would last for him, couldn't tell when the madness would shift and wake to raise it's unwelcome head, but the blond could certainly make the most of the time he had without it. And hope he was far away from Dark and anyone else when it did reappear.
As for being a jerk... it really wasn't the time to be acting like an insensitive jerk, not when Dark had just told him about an obviously touchy experience. There had been a few times when he had done something similar, tell someone of something that he was ashamed or uneasy about only to have it rubbed in his face. Needless to say, Krad no longer went around baring his soul and more than understood the pain that having one's trust betrayed caused.
Turning his head, he studied the other in return, one ear tilting back slightly. If he had know what Dark was thinking right then, the blond might had found some amusement in it, been able to laugh at it. After all, Krad did not joke. That was more Dark's territory. And Krad wasn't entirely sure how to joke without making it mocking and cutting. Maybe one day, he could learn, but not now. Not now.
He blinked, realizing he'd been watching Dark for a few moments too long, glancing away and back to the water. Dark had already stepped away, wings spreading wide. Krad couldn't help but snort and back up a pace or two as Dark took off, scattering leaves and sand. Tossing his head, Krad spread his own wings and took off after the other male, not about to walk halfway around the lake if Dark was going far. He circled briefly, waiting until Dark had landed before folding his own wings slightly and descending. He took a few steps as his hooves touched dry sand, not wanting to land in the water as Dark had incase he slipped on some unseen obstacle and fell.
Pacing forward, he moved slightly past the other so he could gaze over the sharp drop not half a foot beyond him, lowering his head slightly, hair trailing about in the water. It vaguely crossed his mind that he was close enough to be pushed in, but he rather doubted that Dark would be stupid enough to pull a prank like that, not right then at least. Of course, the black winged stallion had done stupider things...
"Good place to hide something." He commented neutrally, ears flattening briefly as he studied the glitter and flash of treasure on the bottom of the lake. "Though not good if you every want it back." That comment was made softly, almost unheard since it was mostly just Krad thinking out loud. It really wasn't that deep under the water by Krad's estimation. But still deep enough to dissuade a soquili from attempting the descent. "Have you considered asking your two-legger for help?" He questioned, lifting his head once more and tilting an ear back, looking at his counterpart for a response. Snorting slightly, he tossed his head as the wet lock of hair that hung infront of his face clung to his neck, eyes narrowing at it briefly. But it would dry eventually, so he put it from his mind.

Dark heard the splash in the water beside him but he was barely conscious of the fact that it was the blond beside him now. That was until his voice invaded the thief's mind and thoughts. "That's exactly what she was thinking I'm sure." He said with a sigh before glancing over at Krad. It seemed as though he fell on to the same thought pattern as Scarlet did when it came to this. Perhaps she wasn't as foolish as he thought. His pondering over Scarlet made him miss the comment about the retrieval of his treasure and almost his suggestion to use his human.
"She's blind, Krad." He said a hint of pity for the girl in his voice. "She wouldn't be able to find the treasure even if she tried." It had been a good suggestion had he suggested it to someone else. With Dark though, it simply made him resent showing the other winged stallion this place. Sure he hadn't meant anything by it, he didn't know but still it stung a bit.
