The blows to the head sent Valar reeling. A loud, sickening crack caused his jaw to relax as he stumbled backwards a bit as he released the mare's leg. The stallion hadn't fully recovered from the first kick to the head it seemed.
Giving his head a few shakes, a disorientating ring filled his ears as the feeling of blood tickled his skin. It was his own, he finally assumed. There was too much and in the wrong place for it to be his prey's.
As he tried to gather himself, his attention on Rose was dropped for a moment. He continued to shake his head, letting out a few snorts and displeased growls. Having not expected her to pull off such a feat had definitely taken him by surprise.

Good. The Kalona was distracted yet again. Though it wasn't in Rose's right mind to flee. She knew that today would definitely not be the day. The mare had to get away to keep her life. And...once her injuries had healed, she would return to take care of this menace.
Her leg ached and burned. As if it was on fire. The crimson liquid that flowed from her wound now soaked her 'boots'. Gathering all her strength, she limped away as fast as she could. Into the forest. She had to get into the forest. There she could mask her scent and find a place to gather herself. A hiding spot.
Bah. Hiding. Like a fearful little mouse hiding for its life from a big bad cat. What a disgraceful way to end a fight. But for now it was a necessary. Live to fight another day or die right here on the spot. The choice was obvious.

Finally the stallion was able to gather himself. Though his vision was still a bit blurred.
Looking around, he had finally noticed that the mare had fled. But not too far. The scent of her blood was still nearby. Gritting his teeth, he took off after her as fast as he could. Hooves pounding into the ground gave a thunderous sound as he searched for her.
He would not let her get away. She would pay for all she had done. Plus, he was still pretty hungry.

The sound of hooves coming closer made Rose hobble faster. It seemed he had recovered quicker than she thought he would. The pain in her leg throbbed and with each step her breathing grew quicker. Shock was starting to set in. She needed to find someplace...
Ahah! There in a tree was a hole just big enough for her to squeeze into. Quickly she made her way over to it and wiggled her way in. Falling against the inside walls. The bark scratching at her skin as she slumped to the ground. Making quick work on the damp dirty beneath her, she scooped it up with her nose and plastered it over her bleeding wound. Hopefully this would stop the bleeding, plus mask the scent of her blood so that the Kalona would not be able to find her.
Watching the outside with her bright violet eyes. She waited. Hoping she had been able to cover her tracks to her as well as she could.
