August 16, 2005- Shavira was gurgling in pure delight on the floor of her and Kii's room, sitting on her bum in front of KiiMeLwi who held a small box with holes in it...she had gotten her Mishap a new gift...or...well, pet. A SAFE pet. Safe to be owned by a baby, anyway.
"Ready, Shavi? Ready to meet your new friend?" KiiMeLwi grinned as she watched her baby's face. She was laughing, and clapping and burbling gleefully. "OK! Here you go...Meet Jungie!" She opened the box, and out bounced a small...Jelly?!

Shavira shrieked in glee...it was a very small, and bouncy creature...made entirely of jelly. It's two big, black eyes looked around as it bounced around the room, and Shavira.
"He...er...actually, It...is edible, Shavi. That means you can eat it, but it regenerates, so he'll never go away...even if you eat a lot of him. It's supposed to taste like raspberries and strawberries...your favorite! Mmm!" She giggled. "I can't believe I'm talking to you like this...you probably don't have any clue what I'm saying...oh well. When you're older, I suppose I can show you that you can eat him." She giggled. "I'm glad you like him."
Shavira was way too busy to pay any attention to her guardian, who was rambling on and on. Her eyes were following Jungie around and around the room, and when she finally caught him, she gave him a big hug, which made the little jelly squeak.
Kii sat back, a smirk on her face. Success!

August 28, 2005- KiiMeLwi was jolted awake with a start. She was sitting in a chair near the bed, where Shavira was sleeping. Standing up and stretching, Kii looked around, wondering what had caused her to waken. It wasn't Shavi...she was still fast asleep. Nothing looked like it had fallen...Maybe someone was at the door..?
Kii strode towards the closed door and opened it. Nope. Nothing. What could it be? Shavi's new pet? No..Shavira was holding the jelly close. What could it have been? Nightmare she no longer remembered? ..maybe.
Closing the door softly and turning back around, KiiMeLwi began to head back towards the bed and Shavira. Sitting back down on her chair, she lightly placed her hand on Shavira's head, and smoothed out her Mishap's hair. Soon...she found herself deep in thought.
Shavira is merely a babe now. Her life has just begun. She'll grow, and grow and grow...someday she'll start talking and walking...then she'll make more friends, and laugh and cry with them. She might enjoy shopping for hours on end, and apple pie. She might fall in and out of love...and she might have terrific days, and bad ones.
Sitting back again, KiiMeLwi smiled. "All that will come on its own...I'll worry about it when it gets here." She closed her eyes...and fell into a peaceful sleep.
Until Shavira woke up again, that is.

A slight draft wafted through the Mishaps building, gently swishing Jabir's hair. "The third quest of the shop, already; these Guardians are good." He made his way over to KiiMeLwi's door, knocking once, twice, three times. Obviously, no one was home, so the tall Mishap let himself in. It was about dinner time for most of the Mishaps, so Jabir was quick; he removed a note, much like the others he had given to Silencer and Jizzy, placing the small paper on KiiMeLwi's bed. The note reads as follows: The Note Dear KiiMeLwi/Shavira, There is a new developement in the growth of your Mishap. Recently, Shavira's snakes have become lethargic, unaware of their surroundings, and their normal color has faded dramatically. What could be wrong with them? If you cannot figure out yourself, you are welcome to pay a visit to Jabir in the infirmary, for help. In order for Shavira to grow, you must figure out what is wrong with her snakes, and fix the problem. Best Wishes, The Mishap Staff

QUEST!! Part One... heart September 3, 2005- KiiMeLwi pushed open the door and rushed inside. Shavira was half asleep and if KiiMeLwi didn't get her baby to lie down...well...she'd be stuck with a sleeping baby clutching her, and those snakes of hers probably wouldn't like being squished so close to Kii's body and would object.
Arriving at the bed, KiiMeLwi lay her baby down, and began to tuck her in with her baby snake blankie...when she heard a small ripping-of-paper noise. Moving her hand away, she found a small note. Taking it and finishing with Shavira, she stood straight and walked around the room, quietly, looking for a light she could turn on that wouldn't waken Shavi. Flicking on the switch to a small, old lamp on the other side of the room, KiiMeLwi strained her eyes to read the small note in the dim light.
Gasping in surprise as she finished reading the note for the third time, hoping she hadn't misread anything, Kii's sight flew to her Shavira. She had kicked off the blanket a little in her sleep, so Kii got a good view of her snakes. They DID look as if they were differently colored, now that she thought about it, even in the dark. That and they weren't really moving very much, as they usually did once put into bed...they were never comfortable with the way Kii placed them.
How had she not noticed this earlier? More importantly, what was she going to do? Scanning the note again, she noticed she'd have to try to find out. At least TRY. But...how would she do THAT? Kii glanced around the room, trying hard to think...maybe she'd see something that might remind her of a way...or...OH!
Noticing a small box in a dark corner, forgotten and quite dusty, KiiMeLwi scrambled over to it and thrust the cardboard flaps open. Looking inside, she saw a few of her possessions that she had packed for her move here. Older clothes she never really liked or wore, but still thought might come in handy (for who knows what) one day lay on top. Tossing them aside, Kii began to rummage through the rest of her things. These were less...organized as the clothes had been. At least they had been FOLDED. A magazine with an interesting article bookmarked, a wig Kii had worn as a joke to work once, a plastic dragon she had gotten from a cousin...then..at the bottom...a couple of BOOKS!
"YES! I KNEW I'd need these..." KiiMeLwi hugged the few she still had, as she dragged them with her back to her dim light. Looking through the first few, she read aloud, though softly..."Japanese-English dictionary...nope...German-English Dictionary...nope...Hebrew-English dictionary...no...what's with all these dictionaries? Oh, hears a plain old one..." She brushed off the old, torn and wrinkled cover. "Maybe it'll help?"
Flipping through the dictionary, on the floor with nothing but a VERY dim light made minutes seem like hours. KiiMeLwi toiled away, looking up anything she could think of that might give her a hint. First she tried to see if there were any lists of any kinds of diseases. None. She then tried looking up, snakes, diseases, and anything she thought might give her a hint. Doing this for only a minute more made her suddenly realize something: she was looking in a dictionary. How was THAT supposed to help?! She tossed it aside, freaked out over the thud it might cause that would certainly wake her baby, then threw herself across the room to catch it.
Sighing heavily and pushing the dictionary aside, Kii went back to her box. Searching around it some more proved useless. There wasn't anything else to help her. Nothing. At. All. She sighed AGAIN, and banged her head lightly on the side of the box. She was so useless...what was she to do? She stuffed everything back into its cardboard container, and found the note on the floor again. She read it over.
Wait...what was that? ...ask...Jabir...of course! She lightly smacked her head, and tucked the note into a pocket. She knew what to do now.

Catherine knocked lightly on the door, gripping the door knob she turned it and opened the door. Peering inside she realized no one was home. Aphrodite resting on the top of her head as she entered the room. Package in hand, she left it neatly on the bed.Catherine Dear KiiMe-chan and Shavira, A week ago I went shopping with Aphrodite in Durem and came across a set of these and I thought about the Mishaps! A Gift! Oct 08, 2005:: KiiMeLwi carried Shavira into their room carefully, Jungie folling close behind. What a day...what a walk...what...was that? She had almost sat on a gift box laying on her bed. She peered at the note, and grinned. Well, well, well.
"Look Shavira! You got a present! From Aphrodite! You remember her, don't you? Oh how SWEET! Let's open it up!" She sat on the floor and handed the box carefully to Shavira, who began tearing at it just as she figured out what she was supposed to do with it. Paper flying everywhere, and Jungie dodging them, Shavi discovered it's contents...
Giggling in glee, Shavi almost tried to pick up the beautiful teapot, but Kii stopped her, fearing it might break. Kii explained how it was fragile, and Shavira just stuck her finger into her mouth and peered at it without touching. Eyes wide, she admired it's design...or, to her, its pictures...and grinned.
KiiMeLwi laughed and placed it on a table, far from the edge. "There. Now you can look at it...and admire it...without breaking it. When you're older, we can let you use it!" She nodded. "We'll have to thank her when we see her again, won't we?"

QUEST! Part 2... October 15th, 2005::
Jungie pounced onto Shavira when she and KiiMeLwi walked back into their room. He didn't seem to even notice the change she had gone through. Shavira giggled and snuggled the small jelly against her chest. "Hi, Jungie! Shavi bigger!" She squeaked.
KiiMeLwi smiled and ran her hand through the small toddler's hair. "Shavi, why don't you go play with Jungie over there, with your toys? Mama needs to work on something." Kii watched as Shavi grinned up at her and trundled off to make a tent with her blankie. Seeing that Shavi would be in sight and safe, KiiMeLwi sat at her desk with a quill and her journal.
KiiMeLwi's Journal Entry October 15, 2005- I just came back to the room with Shavira...who is no longer a small baby. She's finally grown. And to think...the only thing wrong with her poor snakes was that they were shedding. You can imagine how silly I felt, when Jabir figured out what was wrong FOR me. And it was so obvious...I really should start to study snakes more! It will certainly be useful!
Nothing much else happened today...other that the picnic event! I met a couple of friends, and new guardians too. Shavira seemed to have made another Mishap friend as well. They all play hide and seek, and I was somehow dragged into it. I didn't exactly FIT in that bush. But no matter. I'm beginning to feel OLD around all these babes and toddlers...
Well, I better get to work. I want Shavira to get that gift I've been sewing for her. I suppose now it's to be a 'growing up' present. ~KiiMeLwi
KiiMeLwi put her quill down, and journal away. She turned to check up on Shavi. She was fine...alive and kicking. Kicking her ball around..."Shavi, be careful. You might break something...Just kick it in THAT direction..." She pointed to where there was barely any furniture. She should buy some more soon...
Turning back, she bent down and grabbed a basket that was under her desk. Pulling it onto her lap, Kii took out a neddle, thread, and a half-finished stuffed snake. She had been working on the plush ever since she had taken Shavi in. Now she wanted to finish it. Making a couple quick finishing touches on the sewing, she paused, put the needle down and grabbed a large amount of cotton.
Before long, KiiMeLwi had finished attaching the last felt eye. Putting the basket away, KiiMeLwi held out the stuffed snake to admire her work. It wasn't GREAT...but it really wasn't that bad either.
"Snake!" Shavira cried and pointed at what her Mama was holding. She had been watching Kii for quite some time...Jungie resting on her head, a chunk of his side gone. Shavi must have gotten hungry.
"Eh? Oh! Shavi, come here." KiiMeLwi grinned and got up, out of her chair and bent down to get to Shavira's level. "I made you a present." She handed the stuffed snake over. "Do you like it? What are you going to name it?"
" 'im!" Shavira corrected. " 'is name...is...is..."
"Ophi?" KiiMeLwi suggested.
"Slinky L. Ophi!" Shavira declared and clung onto the snake. "Slinky L. Ophi are you. And foreber you will be!"
Surprised at the name, KiiMeLwi laughed. "Perfect name." She watched as Shavira played with Slinky and Jungie for the rest of the day and night.

~ A Gift ~
Rabid crept quietly through the hallway, glancing around nervously. She felt as if she were on some kind of magical ninja mission to bring joy and glucose to her friends.
She took a card out of her pocket and stuck an adhesive strip to the back, then electing to smack it against the wall outside Kii's door. It stuck!
She carefully removed a plastic bag from her shoulder bag. Inside the bag was a cookie she'd baked for Shavira. She taped this to the wall also and quickly skittered off.

A Gift From Tori and Wycliff:: Quote: Wycliff toddled slowly up to the door, swallowing. This was the first time he had ever done something alone. Well, mostly alone. Tori was standing about twenty feet away, watching closely as his Mishap approached Kii and Shavira's room. The little Rhino-boy made his way to the door, stopped, and reached into the pocket of the small shirt his Guardian had bought for him for halloween. It was green and had a picture of a very small and cute looking blob on it, and said "Grr! I'll get you! (The Blob)" on it. Tori had thought it was quite cute, and it had a convienant pocket for rather belated gifts, so Wycliff agreed to wear it.
Grumbling to himself, Wycliff reached into his pocket, pulling out a small, wrapped package. It was roughly the size of a loaf of bread, and was about an inch tall on all sides; obviously, Wycliff had done most of the wrapping, and although the brightly-colored paper covered the whole object, it made it look rather beaten and torn, although it had been treated with the utmost care and respect. The little Mishap shrugged slightly, placing the item in front of the door. He thought briefly of Shavira, and a broad smile came to his face; he hoped he would be able to play with her again soon. The gift he had gotten her was something that he had liked very much while looking at it at the store, so he hoped she would appreciate it as he did. Wycliff rather hoped she would value it as something important in her life, because he had not stopped thinking about her while he bought the item, wrapped it, and brought it to her door.
His job done, Wycliff turned, toddling quickly back to his Guardian. Tori smiled gently, lifting his Mishap off of the floor and supporting him with one arm. "That was wonderful, Wycliff; I am sure Shavira will love the gift..." The tall man's voice was deep and soft at the same time, creating quite the calming effect whenever he spoke. Wycliff nodded, hugging his Guardian's shoulder and neck in an akward-looking but very comfortable embrace, and the made their way back to Tori's appartment.

Nov 05, 2005- Shavira marched proudly around the room in circles, showing off her gifts to her mother, her snakes, jungie...and, well all her two stuffed friends. What seemed to be her favorite gift at the moment was hanging from her neck...a gold and green necklace from Wycliff! She made sure that Ophi, Jungie and the snakes understood it's importance. "See? See?" She clung onto Ophi and her other stuffed snake (whom she has not had a chance to name yet) and pointed out her prize to Jungie, who was currently sitting atop her head. "Wy gabe Shavi gift! Gift pwetty! Gift Shavi's. Shavi neber take off!" She announced, nodding carefully, so as not to send Jungie flying.
KiiMeLwi sat at her desk and grinned, watching Shavira drag out the cookie and candy from Rabid, and the tea set from Aphrodite, showing off as much as she could to her jelly and snakes. It was so adorable. Kii wondered how long the cuteness would all last. She quickly shoo the bad thoughts from her head. What WAS she thinking...
Shavira trundled over to Kii, resting her elbows on her Mama's knees. "Mama..." She grinned up at her green guardian. "Mama, Ophi says he hungwy. Shavi hungwy too." She placed Ophi on her mothers lap so she could tug on her hand. "Less make food. Yum yum!" A light shone on Shavira's new necklace, causing it to sparkle. Shavi clung onto it with her free hand, pushing it into her chest as if to bring it into her heart.
KiiMeLwi, almost speechless, gaped at her Mishap before laughing and standing up. "Sure, Shavi. What does Ophi want to eat?"

"Is it this one?" asked the skeletal colored Mishap while pointing a finger at a door. eyelids blinked over hollow sockets as her awaited his mother's reply. In the Mishap's other hand he held the odd yet familiar looking black gwipple with the mint green eyes. The small creature was curiously gazing around before chittering to his other companion that was perched lightly on the boy's shoulder.
"Um-Yes, that's the one," responded the blonde woman, black ears flicking to the right and left. She felt a little well...Silly for still not being able to remember where everyone's rooms were. Moving over to where her charge stood she knocked on the door and smiled down at him.
Osso matched his mom's smile before feeling a small nervous twinge in his stomach. These were people he'd never met before and out of everyone he HAS met was by running into them on accident. With his free hand he reached out blindly untill his hand clamped on to the fluffy black tail of his guardian.

KiiMeLwi, upon hearing the knocking, turned her head towards the door and blinked. "Coming!" She stood from seat at the table, shoving the papers to the side. She began to make her way to the door.
Shavira, also hearing someone at the door, dropped her beanie and rushed to open the door before her mama could. Reaching the door, Shavira reached above her, turned the knob, and flung the door open. Jungie bounced up and down on Shavira's head, excited. "'Ellow?" Shavira meeped up at the tall lady who looked really familiar, with a Mishap she knew she had not yet met.
"Oh! Azumi, right?" KiiMeLwi came up behind Shavira. "Hello, hello, and welcome!"

"Kii, it's been ages! And Shavira, I havn't seen you since you were a baby. You've grown so much," Azumi replied happily while bringing her eyes from Kii to the Mishap in front of her. "We just wanted to say a very belated thank you for the gifts you gave us on Halloween. And that our charges have yet to meet each other." Black tail swayed, or at least tried to considering it's movement's were partically restricted because of the bone child.
Osso stared at the Mishap and her guardian before him. Black sockets gave the impression of examening each person before staying glued at the green snakes protruding from the girl. it wasn't until Azumi bumped him that he released his grip on her tail and gave a semi-shy wave to both guardian and mishap.
