Go to the writing subforum to have posts critiqued and to critique posts!
I can't use a scale like this for moving threads.
For your purposes, I think that it would be more useful to have a rubric the way that teachers do when they grade, and give each section an A, B, C, or D, with comments for the D sections.
Example:
Spelling: A. No spelling mistakes at all! Grammar: B. Acceptable grammar but not perfect. Punctuation: D. Do you know what a comma splice is?

I think I'm inbetween 2A and 3, only if it's an RP I'm interested in. And I agree with Ishbosh. It shouldn't be self-rate.

Yes i know but the problem with that is that you would need a dedicated person to get all the Pm's rate them then place them in the forum and due to the guilds size it would need a few people.
And to SDRP yes i know but i was thinking of the english grading system before it gets to GCSE where it goes 3c, 3b, 3a, 4c etc.

Interesting Idea...I'm probably somewhere between 2C and 2B. Then again, as they say 'You are your own worst critique' or something like that xC

Eh, I don't like a self-rating system.
Don't get me wrong; I think evaluation can be a very important. The problem is that irregardless of what many may believe, evaluating one's self is always a biased opinion. To be honest, that's why I don't like to grade myself; I'll always think I'm a step higher or lower then I really am.
The best way to evaluate someone is through several people, with all of them using the same -exact- method of grading that is both precise and gives things to look out for. Then, an average of all the grades given for that particular RP would be made, and presto: you have a rough understanding of your RPing 'score' (And yes, school and the olympics use a similar system. I claim no credit whatsoever. wink ).
To be honest, though, even that method wouldn't entirely be accurate; an over-cynical judge or a lax one will change the grade from what it really should be. OOC factors, such as fatigue, distractions, obligations, or even emotional problems like getting dumped by a really adorable 'ex can have an effect on how well one RP's, which would constitute an average of each 'score' to come anywhere close to an accurate grade of one's RP. And I won't even get into how relative 'good' RP can be; some feel it's quantity, and others prefer short, to-the-point actions.
Needless to say, while I wouldn't want to shoot the concept down entirely, I really don't want to grade myself; it'll make me seem arrogant if I grade too highly, and the guidelines for each score are too vague to avoid going too low. whee So yeah. Woo.
