Shiori pranced around in glee. "Yay!" she shouted. This was her second race, and she had won it! She couldn't be much happier. Verloren's warm smile made her cheeks flush and she couldnt help but smile back at him. The sea was in sight. Shiori could feel the sand sink under her hooves so she jumped around like a happy little child. Still joyfully giggling, she let herself drop onto the warm sea of sand. It was so soothing and she couldnt help but wish Verloren would come lie next to her.
The sun soaked her extravangtly colored coat and made it shine. Her colors were bright and pretty, just like Shiori saw the world right now. She was content, and she could imagine doing this all the time with Verloren. He would be a great friend and maybe even more! She let her mind fly away in her pretty little thoughts...

Golden eyes couldn't help but notice a blush cross over the mare's face when she looked at him. Verloren blinked a few times, wondering if he imagined it or not... He was growing rather fond of the mare and rather adored her, but was hesitant to push forward with anything serious in terms of relationships... It was... something that he still wasn't sure about. But, he wouldn't turn Shiori away, no matter what.
Carefully, his golden hooves approached the mare and his darker colored nose dipped down to nudge the mare in a rather loving fashion. "You look quite lovely on the sand. The sand complements your coat color."

Shiori's heart skipped a beat. She could feel her whole body becoming extremely warm as a very pleasant feeling grew in her stomach. With wide eyes, she look up at Verloren, who was surprisingly gentle. She felt a strong feeling of need to stay with him.
"Umm, thank you." she softly whispered, staying down on the sand. It was so warm, just like she was. Slowly she stood up, next to Verloren. He was a little bit taller than her. She closed her eyes and leaned in towards him, nuzzling his cheek. Rubbing her head under his neck, she said,
"I really, really like you."

Verloren couldn't help but feel his cheeks heat up as an evident blush came over the stallion. No longer was he a flirtatious young stallion with few understandings of how life worked in the world. He honestly understood the circumstances and responsibilities of having children now that he had experienced it once in his lifetime and he did not desire to repeat the cycle of lost love again. He wanted a peaceful life more then anything but the shadows of his past would always chase him... Maybe... for now he would be forgiven for the things he had done.
"Shiori..." The green stallion spoke kindly, "I really like you too. It might take me a while to really open up to you and tell you about myself and what not. But if you don't mind staying by my side until then, I would be honored to stay with you and protect you." A chuckle escaped Verloren, "If you really don't mind that is."

"Why I-" Shiori started. She wanted nothing more! She wanted to finaly settle down with someone and maybe even have children! Oh, how she yearned for her own baskets. Suddenly, she thought of a glimps of the future with Verloren. Running around, chasing after three greenish leopard printed little wild babies. She wanted that image to stay with her forever, but like all daydreams it went away. She wanted that daydream to be real, she wanted it to last. One look at Verloren's soft face made her feel it again; feel as if it was actually going to happen. She couldn't let him go, she didn't want to search for someone else. Verloren was the one.
"I would love to..." she whispered into his ear, nuzzling his cheek with her nose. She was shy to ask him if they had become official mates now, but didn't want to say a thing anymore.

In a rare moment of gentleman like behavior, Verloren bowed his head to Shiori and nuzzled her showing the mare his ability to express devotion and love to another. But in the depths of his heart, something deep down inside tugged at him, making him feel hesitant. The shadows that continued to chase him were still there though a bit smaller then before. "One step at a time..." Verloren whispered to himself quietly in a rather sad voice.

Shiori blushed as the two nuzzled. All she could do was close her eyes and feel the warm touch there beside her. She smiled, enjoying all that she had been through today. The sun was beginning to set. The horizon turned a beautiful crimson color, the color of love. Spring was on its way aswell. The cherryblossom trees were beginning to bloom, making a beautiful and colorful picture of the flowers and the stunning red sun.
Until the time that the sky turned dark, the two of them stood there with a very warm silence; like the one you get when all that you wish to say can be said without words. The darkness swallowed them, but Shiori believed that not even the nighttime could extinguish the bright flames that burned passionately in her heart for Verloren.
