ryokomayuka As far as the abortion debate don't let it get you it has little effect on real life or than making you more stressful. I'm not a very good debater. crying I did once actully debate them on why they were debating. If I remeber correctly someone i think kind of got mad at me. I stay away from it as I usually stay away from the ED. I've been told by friends (who disagreed with me) and professors that I'm a very good debater...usually if your opponent gets hostile that's a good sign they know they're being owned. I'm an ED regular but I generally avoid the "debate" thread. As I said, they accuse me of being a post-and-run because I don't--and can't--respond to every jab hurled at me. I don't even go in there to debate the ethics of abortion, I just focus on correcting false statements and bad arguments--even from anti-abortion posters.

I suppose I might be better if it were a verbal debate but sometimes it's hard to get want I want it say in typing. Althought even debate that i had to got for school which is really the only time I have debeted I have lost. I know that part of debating is being able to outlast the other person.

Huh, I'm the other way around. I'm bad on my feet, but with text I can see what I'm typing and think it over and think of synonyms and such without standing there stuttering like a fool.

La Veuve Zin I heart DC. I was born there, actually. If they'd just get rid of the politicians the city would be so awesome. Now every time I go I have to keep myself from stalking congresspeople I hate and accidentally pushing them down the stairs. Not to mention it has the highest rate of gun violence; it's not exactly a safe place. If you know where to avoid it's okay, but then there's also less representation, and the traffic is awful. That statement ticks me off a bit. Unless you're adopted, you aren't chosen. You fit into a schedule. Your parents don't know you personally. They can't tell what you're going to be like. They just want a baby. It could have been anyone in that womb and your parents would still have chosen to go through with the pregnancy because they wanted a baby. Conditional love is something I wouldn't really want from my parents.

Seems like everything is the same as it has always been.
What's all this about "conditional" love?

FreeArsenal Seems like everything is the same as it has always been. What's all this about "conditional" love? Well, if your parents only want you because you fit into their schedule, it's conditional. They'll only take you IF you meet certain guidelines they set. If they would kill you because you don't meet their standards, it seems pretty conditional to me...

I use to feel the same way but eventually I just gave up... seems like there is no use going into that thread.

I must of done well then back when I debated since I seemed to anger alot of them xd though few where o.k. with me since I'm more personal pro-life and only there to state my opinons and give a few facts. I believe it's up to the person to choose since we can't force them to make choices for their actions.

I did that for awhile... some of them are really emotional and get hurt and then blog about how much I hurt them... It really did happen. It's what got me kicked out of the other group. In the end though, they can't take their own kind of "jab" debating, so why should we listen to it? Spend your time on better things. smile

I dislike the use of my medical dictionary and regular dictionary, dislike the fact that I call a fetus an unborn bady (that's what it is, fetus is latin for unborn offspring) and they got mad that I gave info about adoption but they had no problems saying some terrible things to some people. Though not all are rude, I stopped debating cause it was just turning into name calling really and no one liked that I try to use facts as well as opinons (both are important when it comes to debating). That and some of their logic was weird and made no sense. Some people said abortion was o.k. cause rabbits "abort" and one said that tomatos abort (tomatos? that is just weird and make no sense whatsoever). I swear someone said that once sweatdrop

Clearly, this world would be a better place if humans were more like rabbits. And tomatoes. Tomatoes are also the pinnacle of morality. ..... rofl
