Ruffian couldn't help but laugh at the cub and his obvious mistake of pouncing just a bit too hard. She did her best to stifle it as soon as she could though, for she didn't want the cub to feel any worse then he already did. It was just too funny though.
She soon stopped laughing and glanced at the little cub, still humored. "Yes, you did. Your pouncing was quite good, but you did it a little too hard! Here, wipe it on the ground, get most of it off of your paw." She smiled, mimicing the action that he should do by rubbing her paw on the grass.

"But I keeeeled it!: he wailed and buried his face against a tuft of grass, he felt so ashamed, surely his mom and dad would be upset at him to! He wiped his paw on the ground, sniffling and keeping his head down and curled his tail around him He was a bad pouncer, a bad, bad pouncer.
He didn't mean to!
"I'm not good at anything," he cried into the grass, hiding his face from Ruffian, he didn't wan to see the look of shame upon him from her! He didn't want to feel so down...why did he pounce on it, why?

Ruffian's humor soon switched to confusion, and a bit of concern. Did this cub even knew what happened when one really hunted? She hoped he would grow out of it, since well....he had to eat somehow, and he certainly wasn't going to live off of grass and water. That would be frightening.
"Uhhh," she started, unsure as how to console him. "Well, that's what happens sometimes when you go hunting. Maybe you pounced a bit too hard, but it's okay! You'll learn how to do it just right."
Wow, she sounded pathetic. But she had nooo idea what else to say, so she was doing her best. Minus one in the comfort department for Ruffian, please!

Murasame sniffled, raised his head and wiped a paw across his nose, peeking up at Ruffian with shining orange eyes in the sunlight, his nose running a little bit from the tears, "Daddy hunts, but he doesn't squish them, I didn't mean to squish it I swear, just wanted to catch it like how daddy catches food for mommy," he said with a slight nod, ears back against his head.
"I wanna do it right but I don't wanna squish them..." he said standing up, inching forward then settling himself by her leg again, curling up y her, letting his side touch her paw.
He was tired now, it showed in his eyes.

Ruff's ears swiveled around her head, still confused on what the cub meant. Her eyes obviously showed a bit of concern as her brows were furrowed, sorting out her thoughts before she spoke. "Do you even know how your Dad hunts...?"
Her question faded out as she felt the cub resting next to her. She glanced down to see him pretty much falling asleep on her! "Ack! No, you can't fall asleep here!" She shifted her foot around, hoping to nudge him back up so he wouldn't fall asleep. Anything but that!

Murasame gave a nod as he had his eyes closed, "Daddy brings mommy food, like the tall hoping things with horns, daddy growls and roars I think, maybe paws at em, or bites them and then they are food for mommy," he said matter of factly. It was obvious he wasn't sure how exactly hunting went, but he had somewhat of an idea.
Though squishing things made him upset.
Murasame yawned and then squeaked when he felt her nudge him, and he quickly stood up ad took a step back, tail low, ears back, "I'm sorry...tired..." he said with a nod, and he stood there, eyelids half open just standing, watching her.
He didn't know what she wanted him to do.

Ruffian brushed off what he had said about his father and hunting; obviously he didn't really know what happened when his father went hunting. She didn't blame him though, when she was his age all she cared about was playing and sleeping and getting into all sorts of trouble, not worrying about how her parents ate.
"Let's take you home before you fall asleep," she mentioned, hoping he'd take the hint. "Your mom might be looking for you anyway, right?"

Murasame tilted his head at her, eyes brightened up a bit, tears no longer falling and he nodded, yea, he'd like to go home and nap, he was tired from the pouncing, or at least the attempt at pouncing correctly. "Okay," and he turned and took a few steps, before waiting and watching to see if she'd follow, he didn't want to walk home alone!
"Its by Pride Rock."

Ruffian's brown eyes checked the area around them, especially behind them, before she followed the cub. She was just making sure that nothing was following them, as she never thought that you could be too careful, no matter where you were.
"Pride Rock?" she chimed in, attempting to shake off her protective attitude. "A nice place! Very good, since lots of cubs lived there." She followed him, but also was doing her best to walk slow so she wouldn't overtake the cub, since she wasn't totally sure on which way they were going.

Murasame continued along, a smile on his face, though it could be easily seen viewing is half closed eyes that he was sleepy, he so wanted to have a nap in his spot in the den, he dubbed a spot his, where he could nestle safely and warmly without getting shoved at all.
"Yea, its nice isn't it?!" he said with increase of loudness in his voice, getting excited talking about his home, "Yea, me and my six siblings like meeting other cubs and everyone around, its fun, do you have an cubs at Pride Rock I can meet and play with?" he asked hopefully, Ruffian was so nice, maybe she had cubs that were nice too!

"No, no cubs. There's certainly already enough little playmates for you, right?" She laughed lightly. "I live a bit further off from pride rock, kind of nice and quiet at times too." She didn't think that he would really get what she meant, but he'd get it someday, if he remembered it anyway.
"You like your home, hmm? And wow, quite a number of sibilings! Can never get bored, right?" She smiled, giving him a little nudge so he'd keep walking towards home instead of stopping to give her an excited reply.

Murasame smiled though he was tired, "Maybe someday then, because you are so nice, your cubs would be nice too, they'd be my friends," he said rambling on in his cub like manner, Murasame, to others, would seem as if he just loved meeting others to make friends.
Though nothing is wrong with that at all.
"Yea, my home is cool, my mom and dad 'made' it," though he wasn't sure how, but he idolized his parents. "No, never bored, always playing, its fun we should play again too," he said padding along, they were closer to pride rock now, he could even see the entrance to his den now.
"I think I can make it from here," he said, stopping, then turning around to trot to Ruffian's right front leg, nuzzle against it and make a purr, he also wanted to make it home alone, so maybe his dad would be proud of him, he hoped Ruffian would understand. "Thank you," he said softly with a purr, stepping back he gave her a silly smile and then bounded towards home.
He couldn't wait to tell his siblings about the nice and cool lioness he had met.
