Dr. Hakan could only stare for a moment. Deranged...the child was deranged...that was the only possible explanation. How odd. She hadn't seemed to be suffering from mental illness when they'd found her...only the physical effects of prolonged exposure.
He'd have to re-evaluate his initial diagnosis at this rate.
"Young lady," he started finally, shaking his head as he mentally willed her to take a few steps backwards. Her lack of respect for personal boundaries was growing quite irritating. "I can assure you, there is nothing of that sort going on around here. You've let your rather...'fertile' imagination run away from you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have patients to check on. Perhaps, after finding that shower, you should check in with the infirmary yourself. Have them check for any head trauma," he shot back, muttering under his breath as he tried once more to make progress in moving down the hall and away from the deranged subject.

Once again, Kira moved to get in Hakan's way, blocking him from going farther. "You think I'm insane, don't you.... Well, what do you expect to the psyche of people who are locked up with no change of scenery? That alone would be enough to drive a person insane eventually. Why did you think I used the chalk on the walls?" She asked, gesturing her hands to the images.
"I've taken the psychology classes, I know how the mind works. We are not meant to be cooped up all the time, it's not healthy mentally. I know I have my own mental problems, an intense phobia from my child hood, but it doesn't mean I'm insane. In fact, I've coped with it quite well over the years."

'I'm honestly starting to wonder...' Frowning deeply, Dr. Hakan took a moment to re-evaluate the subject blocking his way. Perhaps she wasn't as crazy as he might have thought...though she certainly was a persistent irritation.
"You're free to go outside whenever you'd like, Miss," he continued with forced patience. He'd taken on a condecending tone now, though he couldn't manage the smile that usually accompanied it. "I'm sure an expert on the psychological world like you knows far more than a mere medical doctor like myself, so I wouldn't need to explain how we can't allow you to wander around the lab itself when we have top secret research going on. We can't risk the chance of industrial spies, you know. However, we didn't exactly have to rescue you that day either. I'm sure you would have managed just fine out there on the sea by yourself, wouldn't you?" He smirked darkly, arms crossed. Momentarily, he allowed himself to entertain the idea of dropping her off in the middle of the ocean...
But no, as appropriate as that might be, he couldn't waste perfectly good subjects. Especially when they were nice enough to practically deliver themselves to his front door.

Kira had opened her mouth to retort back, when she froze, completely ridged. At the mention of being all alone in that dark, vastness of ocean, her phobia reared it's ugly head and consumed her. Images of when she had been swept off deck haunted her again, and her eyes began to dilate, the color draining from her skin. Her heart beat shot up, and she began to hyperventilate as she shook.
There was so much water, all of it pulling her down, pushing her side to side like a forgotten rag doll. Memories of the waves crashing down on her, of her body feeling numb in that icy water. Softly, she let out a whimpered sob as her knees gave out and she fell forward. She was beyond terrified, to the point where her fear had almost consumed her. Before smacking against the ground, her hands shot out to balance herself, grabbing to Hakan's lab coat to keep her from falling.

Eyebrow raised, Dr. Hakan tried to back away, but was too slow. Grunting and sneering at the girl that clung to his labcoat, he couldn't help but muse on this interesting reaction. Certainly more than he'd hoped for...though it had technically shut her up. But, what had prompted...?
Suddenly, it clicked! The phobia she mentioned, the dialation of her pupils, the sudden personality shift...her collapse...
Dr. Hakan smirked, despite the uncomfortable situation. The girl wasn't the only one skilled in reading people. But, then, that meant...
He almost laughed out loud. Sometimes pure chance could be even more cruel than he, it seemed. Who knew he'd pick that particular vial for the subject who just happened to have hydrophobia?
This would be interesting to watch. Very interesting indeed.
Then, he was all business again, as if he hadn't noticed a thing. He cleared his throat, glaring down at the girl harshly. "Miss, you will conduct yourself in a more civilized and professional manner. Otherwise, I'll be forced to call security to escort you back to your room, cleaned or no."
Coping well with her fear over the years? Yeah...and he was a Magikarp.

At this point, Kira was too far consumed by the images her mind's eye was seeing. She was completely unable to hear Hakan talking to her, much less being able to comprehend it. Softly, she cried against him, holding tightly to his lab coat for dear life, her fists trembling.

Obviously, she wasn't joking. Dr. Hakan sighed tiredly, debating on what to do. He wasn't about to stand here with a subject clinging to him in the middle of the hallway, but he couldn't leave with her still clinging either.
He hated to do this, but he didn't have any other option at this point.
It may have seemed odd to any onlookers, that this middle-aged man seemed so edgy around a mere teenage girl, but he knew something that they wouldn't. To be honest, he had no idea when her...'changes' might start making themselves known, with or without her own knowledge. He had first-hand experience witnessing exactly what those powers could do too...and he had no wishes to be on the receiving end of them.
Nevertheless...
He gripped her shoulders firmly, shaking her just enough to get her attention and hopefully bring her out of this trance she seemed to be in. "Miss! Get ahold of yourself this instant!"

Kira took in a deep and shuttering breath, her eyes finally snapping back into focus on Carl. Focusing on his face, she continued to hold to him, trying to pull herself back to normal. Her body still shuttered and her eyes were still filled with fear, but the color had returned to her skin and she did the thing that was most natural to a half-conscious, semi-fearful semi-relieved 19 year old girl; she leaned into him and just cried.
Tears were overflowing from her eyes as she pulled past her state of phobia slowly, entering into the state of relief were one cries because they have found out that they are alive and alright. She held tightly to the person who was currently her anchor on pulling out, focusing on the hard floor beneath her and the feeling of a lab coat between her fingers. She was alright, there was no bodies of deep water here to hurt her.

Well, this was awkward.
Dr. Hakan's eyes scanned the hallway, wondering idlly why no one else had come along yet. Not that he wanted anyone to see this...but at the same time, he'd put up with being found like this if it meant he could shove this subject off on someone else in order to escape.
"Come on, get ahold of yourself," he said harshly, glowering. This was not something he'd been prepared to deal with when he'd chosen this hallway today. That's it...he was never traversing this hallway alone again. At least not while the subjects were permitted to wander around unsupervised like this. Lugia's Quills, this was ridiculous. Like a Pokefreak sideshow...or at least it would be...
Sighing, Dr. Hakan began peeling the girl's fingers from his labcoat; not an easy task, considering how tightly she had latched onto him. "Perhaps you should go to the infirmary anyway. You could get something to help you calm down..."

By the time Hakan had gotten her fingers off of his lab coat, she had them curled around his own hands, holding tightly to him. She was still leaning into him, pressing her face against his chest to force her to slow her breathing. She could hear his voice, telling her to go to the infirmary, but that would involve being alone again, and that wasn't something she wanted at this moment. She didn't care who it was with her, she just needed to know that there was another person near her. Those memories of being cold and alone in that ocean.... 'Don't go there Kira, don't even think about it. Concentrate on Dr. Hakan and him being here warm and dry and being with him. You're safe while he's here...'

Dr. Hakan had had more than enough of this particular subject.
"That's it. To the infirmary you go." With that brief statement, the doctor whirled around, dragging the girl with him if she insisted on continuing to cling to him like that. The contact seemed to burn like acid and he was eager to get rid of her as soon as physically possible. If that required having the infirmary drug her, then fine. He'd authorize whatever it took. Striding swiftly down the hallway, he headed for the infirmary wing, glaring out of the side of his vision at the chalk drawings and making a mental note to have those taken care of as soon as possible.

The dragging finally pulled Kira back to her state of sanity. Slowly, she tugged on his arms while attempting to regain her feet, all while the doctor still dragged her along. Once she finally did stand, she looked down in shame, feeling like a lier. "I guess all my therapy is useless after what happened.... I'm sorry, I feel like I lied to you, but I didn't know that it was like that now...." She still had a grip on one of the doctor's hands, not realizing she was still holding to him.
She looked up at Hakan. "Will you stay with me while I'm in the infirmary? I really don't want to be left alone, not after this last episode...." Her voice trailed off softly as she remembered it, then she started apologizing again. "I'm so sorry, I really didn't know that it was back. I thought that the other day's episode was only a fluke."

"Stop apologizing," he interrupted harshly. Her voice was beginning to grate on his nerves and he only wished she'd shut up long enough for him to get her to the infirmary to have her knocked out again.
"Obviously, you do NOT have control of this fear like you said you did. That much is plain and there's nothing left to argue about. Tough. You'll just have to learn to deal with it." His eyes were set straight ahead and his strides were swift. With any luck, he'd be rid of this pest soon once they arrived at the infirmary. He took a left, then a right, and another right...swiftly navigating the twisting corridors without a second thought, pausing only to swipe his security card at the ID checkpoints.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity to Dr. Hakan, he found himself at the entrance to the infirmary, the subject still clinging to his arm, much to his irritation. "Come on," he sneered, shoving the door open.

Kira's head snapped up to him, her eyes wide in confusion. As She listened to Hakan, her head nodded. She was silent until they reached the infirmary, then she stopped dead and pulled on Hakan's arm. "Before we go in, I want you to promise me something else.... please." She already had his word he'd talk to whoever had treated her and see if she could leave.
"I would really appreciate seeing you again, Dr. Hakan.... you're really nice. Nothing at all like I've heard other people mumbling about. Please, promise you'll come and visit me?" She smiled, and it was a pure and honest smile; she really did want to see the doctor again, something inside her told her that he was a very VERY complicated soul, and she wanted to solve the mystery.

Patience wearing thin, Dr. Hakan resisted the urge to shove the irritating child into the infirmary and slam the door. "Perhaps you shouldn't believe everything you hear..." he murmured quietly, eyes narrowed and set harshly.
'...and perhaps you should.'
Practically dragging her inside, Dr. Hakan motioned to a technician, barking at her, "The young lady needs something to calm her down. Arrange for someone to escort her back to her room afterwards." As the tech nodded and hurried to carry out orders, Dr. Hakan looked back at the subject, still no warmer in demeanor. "...I promise nothing."
While most normal people would have hardly been able to resist Kira's honest kindness and genuine fear...Dr. Hakan was far from 'normal people'. He had no time, nor patience, for this nonsense. There was work to be done. And if the others were talking about him, how long before they started asking other questions? No, this wouldn't do. They'd kept so much secret for so long...it wouldn't be ruined now. Precautions must be made; their work must be protected...
...at least until it was too late to be stopped. It was too late for so many already...
They were so close...so close to success. Changes had been made to perfect the process. The results were eagerly anticipated. Yes, they would succeed this time; he was sure of it. Not like last time...
