Tarii chuckled at the thought of Mitsuko falling over in a kitchen. Yes it wouldn't be a very good thing to do in a place where so many accidents are bound to happen with all the sharp objects looming around. "Burning water is impossible, even for yourself Mitsuko. The only thing that can burn water is oil in water and a lit match. Otherwise you're quite safe."

Yawning a little, she flicked one of her bangs behind her ear. "Relax, Mitsuko. I'm not going to starve myself. My mother especially would never allow it." Her mother, being an ex-model, had lived in a world were almost everyone you knew would binge or starve themselves to improve their body figure. It was a horrible thing to do to yourself, as the damage could take years to repair but only hours to do. Her mother was lucky enough to have her body genetically fit to quickly burn fat so it wouldn't be stored on her visible body.

Tarii noticed Mitsuko trying to hide the roses she stepped on and sighed. "Relax, I won't tell anyone. I can care less for roses anyhow."

The girl sighed, before shaking her head. "Thing is, Tarii-chan, I'd probably somehow spill oil into the water, and somehow light a fire on it. My very presence brings bad luck to myself in situations like that." She laughed, shaking her head. "Like the fact that I'm a klutz, and yet am often forced to wear heels to events. It's a mircle I haven't broken anything yet." Her green eyes seemed amused as she shook her head. Mitsuko didn't seem to mind poking fun at herself.

"Good to hear that." She chirped. "I'm glad you're aware of that! If one of my friends were ever starving themselves, I would..." She paused thoughtfully, "Smack them upside the head, I suppose?" ...What a violent doctor-to-be.

Still looking sheepish, Mitsuko stayed in front of the roses. "I didn't think you would, but it's kind of embarassing - the situations I get into, that is." She then bent down, to gather up all the rose petals that were randomly scattered over the ground. "Oh? You don't like roses, Tarii-chan?"

Tarii sighed. "Trust me, water cannot catch fire in a kitchen. It's against the laws of physics and not even superstitious bad luck can cross over the border of what's possible and what isn't. As for being a klutz I just suggest you take posture lessons. It can help you learn to balance yourself better."

She snickered at Mitsuko's suggestion. "That's quite effective. You know if you don't want a cat to leave the house you need to shut the door in it's face. That way you enlist fear in the cat."

The ebony black haired girl shook her head, her bangs swishing from side to side with her. "No, I'm afraid. The color is nice but the formation of it never appealed to me. I prefer violets much more."

"Well...that's reassuring for me to know, at least." Mitsuko said, with a laugh, before making a face. "I -have- taken posture lessons, when I was younger," She admitted, "But uh...they...didn't work. As you can see." She grinned sheepishly. "I don't known - maybe it's just natural for me to trip over my feet everyday."

Putting on a look of completely innocence, Mitsuko smiled. "As long as it gets the message across, right?" She grinned, "Though I hope I won't have to smack anyone upside the head anytime soon."

"To each their own, right?" Standing back upright, flower petals in hand, she glanced around for a place to dispose of them neatly. "Violets are such pretty flowers. Roses have always been my favourites, for some reasons. Especially pink ones, of course."

Tarii pondered, going into her small land of spacing out. In that world she could imagine it clearly. Every time Mitsuko would walk up to five steps she would quickly trip on her clumsy feet. By the time of the day's ending she ended up with over ten bruises, three cuts and one paper cut. It was quite dreadful what happened to her face as well.

Well she can't be that clumsy. Tarii decided on in her head. By the time she got out of that world she had just heard Mitsuko's reply to her enjoying violets. She wondered what she exactly missed but didn't care much for it at all.

"Maybe you just remember something or someone dear to you that loved roses as well," Tarii softly said, looking up to the clouds hovering in the deep sky. She liked violets because Alec was the one who told her about them. If only he was several years younger she wouldn't mind being with Alec, but it was impossible and Tarii knew that. Of course she hated dwelling on it.

Mitsuko gave a small, involuntary flinch at Tarii's words. Her love of roses...it -had- spawned from someone who was dear to her, hadn't it? Mitsuko had forgotten - it had been so long ago - that her love of the flower had first grown when she was but a child, and was outside helping her grandmother trim the rose bushes. It had originally been another chore of the Takara family staff, however she and her grandmother had picked it up as a hobby.

"I almost forgot..." She murmured, to herself really before smiling at Tarii. "Heh, you're right, Tarii-chan. It was because of someone who I loved, that my fondness of roses came from." She played with the petals in her hand, before sighing.

"It kind of keeps the memory of someone alive for me."

Noticing Mitsuko flinch from her periphery Tarii wondered if she actually hit a nerve. She didn't attempt to do such but at the same time she wondered why saying that would shake her up, even just a little. Was there truly something to Mitsuko that wasn't visible, just as she had theorized of before? They say that everyone has something to hide, but what exactly?

"A memory is precious. It retells a tale over and over again of something which occurred," she paused, sighing lightly as she plucked a violet near the stomped roses, "something fleeting that we can no longer smell or repeat, yet we can still feel, see and hear in our thoughts."

Playing with the petals she held, Mitsuko smiled absent mindedly. "Well said, Tarii-chan...Indeed, that's what a memory is..." She was silent for a moment, before trying to perk up again, though her attempts seemed to falter. "I for one would never trade my memory - both the good and the bad - for anything."

Her memories and past was what made her Mitsuko - the bubbly, ditzy girl who everyone saw. Not many knew about any sorrows she held, except for a small handful. She had promised her grandmother to be happy at school, and to always bounce back if anything effected her, so that's exactly what Mitsuko did. She just wished that the death of her grandmother - the only family who paid any attention to her - hadn't died so recently.

"Four days before school started..." She muttered to herself, shaking her head.

Tarii looked at Mitsuko's melancholy, wondering if this was the real Mitsuko. The one that can't constantly be happy whenever she pleases. If it was then Tarii wondered again why couldn't she be this way? No person can be too happy, but Mitsuko is. And it's a blatant lie. Why was she acting this way. Doesn't she know it's okay to be sad once in a while.

"Four days?" Tarii asked, overhearing Mitsuko's muttering. What happened four days before school started? Did Mitsuko get hurt, did someone she knew get hurt.

Or maybe, Tarii started to think in the back of her head, someone got really hurt and they weren't coming back.

Startled as heard her words repeated, Mitsuko looked up from the petals. Sheepishly, she smiled, "Oh, uh, nothing you'd be interested in I'm sure, Tarii-chan. I wouldn't want to take up your time with my random blabbering or anything!" She said, cheerful again. It wasn't as if she didn't usually take up anyones time with random chatter though.

Looking back at the petals, the girl blinked. She shuffled them in her hand, before choosing the brightest, most alive looking petal and neatly dumping the rest into the grass.

"She always did like roses. I can see why." Mitsuko commented, holding the soft petal up and looking up at it.

Tarii's eyes stood focused on Mitsuko. She knew something was going buzzing around that pink head of hers. The color however was not pink yet a sad gray. Mitsuko was unhappy. She was and Tarii was picking up on it. It was bothering her to. Personally Tarii didn't consider herself a 'friend' of Mitsuko's but that didn't mean she liked it when the other one was hiding away like this. It was pretty bothersome and annoying too.

"Roses huh?" Tarii muttered to herself, hearing Mitsuko's voice. Violets were her personal taste. Many people loved roses far more and always compared them to other things that were beautiful. Roses are red, Violets are blue. That was a common love poem wasn't it. Short, sweet and expressing. Yet that other line. The one that expressed the feelings was always mixed up.

Mitsuko...are you really happy now? I don't think you are.

"Lunch is ending soon. We should probably go before we're found to be late," Tarii huffed out annoyingly. She didn't have time to muse on the pink girl. These things would work themselves out. She was positive of it.
