Yeah...those guys look brilliant, eh? Still more of a problem for me - it's going to be another army I need to add to my list. XD

O.o Yeah fellow LOTR BSG players! This was the game I played before I started Warhammer 40k!

Seems someone else is in the same boat as me. I haven't long started on Space Marines and my own force - Warp Brothers - have yet to face their first conflict (on the gaming board anyway). As for my Lord of the Rings collection, it's got bigger...and I'm playing a 1000 points battle tonight...wish me luck. Not that I will need it, but then again, two Fell Beasts and a Mumak...maybe? I plan to send my King of the Dead in against the Mumak (his special rules mean a one-hit KO for the beast) and then have Aragorn and Anduril, his sword, cut apart the Beasts with 4+ cutting power - and have the other people in my force, such as my Gondorians and Rohirrim - deal with the rest of the cannon fodder.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Good luck to you. Personally in a 1000 point battle I would not waste points on a mumak and fell beasts. I would rather have some warg riders, orcs and I mean LOTS of orcs (including trackers), about 2 Trolls, and some characters. I would say about 3-5.
I personal like evil the best and with the new release of fall of the Necromancer oh man I can't wait!

Oh yay! I was hoping LOTR game would be mentioned in this guild can i post a pic of my armies later?

I think that'd be good. I started LotR about a year back, I thought it was a bit of a petty childish game before then, but I find it to be the most tactically challanging of the games. (Bar Inquisitor or Epic)

It has the best system of the big 3 in my most humble opinion. Nothing overly powerful bar the Balrog and Sauron. Might, will and fate make the heroes far more interesting that just the uber stats and items from WF and 40k although I do tend to find the heroes tend to fall into certain categories and that in each they are too alike. Not as many loopholes to exploit, I find. Even your bob standard troops can act like heroes at times (beating a troll in combat for example). A lot more tactical than the other two as well.

But i'm biased, being a LOTR fan and all sweatdrop .

Moria goblins suck a**.

That's why you throw 300 goblins at them. If that fails, throw a balrog at them.

And archers, I dunno. I never really found archers all that much use personally.

high elf archers? really? they absolutely pwn little s**t goblins lol the best piece i got is my Sauron it was also my first 3nodding probably followed by my gandalf.

hey if i cut off a urak hai bow and attach it to a urak hai sword and shield man does he lose points as well as gain range attacks?... and those this count as breaking the rules? sweatdrop

Asking about rules in here is a very sticky subject, so it's best avoided.

Also, high elf bows, yeah they pwn. I forgot about those ^.^

Also I guess bows aren't so bad against weak enemies, but on Mordor they suck, no matter who you're against.

Even Mordor Uruks don't do so great with them.

I'm sorry but this is the most popular GW game outside of Warhammer, I hate to see the thread die like it.

Um.

Mordor catapults vs Dwarfs. Unfluffy, and also useless.

Discuss!

You sucessfully wound Dain with the catapult and I spend all my fate to save him and then proceed to wipe out the rest of your orcs using a combination of axes, large axes and even larger axes.

twisted xp

Yep, that's pretty much what happened. Kinda proves that it's a waste of time xd
