.:But I don't need to be in here:.
That had been Midori's first and last message as the Dr. Wilkinson had merely sat in one of the plastic chairs and beckoned that she sit on the other. For the next full hour the doctor watched her draw random things - from a hospital bed to a radio to a basketball court to a graveyard.
Midori watched in subtle amusement as the doctor scribbled notes of her own and finally asked her one of the most random questions she had ever heard in this type of situation.
"You have a very interesting style of drawing. Tell me, does the white color of these walls influence your art?"
.:I want to leave, is this session over yet?:.
Looking at the doctor, she had hoped that she would have gotten annoyed, but instead she merely glanced at the watch on her wrist before smiling and nodding.
"I think our session is about over. Dr. Peterburg should be coming in soon and then we'll be leaving."
She smiled and Midori internally gagged, hating how she was always so positive.
. biggrin on't you have a key to this place?:.
"The staff has yet to give me one. Otherwise, this door only opens from the outside."
Dr. Wilkinson's face suddenly changed to a rather serious one as she continued.
"There's a big risk to using this room, but we're monitored at all times so no patients or doctors can get away with trying anything."
Thinking of the girl she had watched being sedated in the hallway, Midori wondered if those words were necessarily true.

The two guards held Charlotte firmly as they dragged her down the hall. She had a very strange look on her face. A cross between a scowl and a joyful grin. The reason being was that she was very ticklish, and the guards had certainly caught a nerve. And just as they pulled her into the room she assumed she would be meeting her therapist in, she burst out laughing. Oh, she had never had such a giggle fit.
Luckily, the guards were feeling lenient enough to let her fall to the floor in threads. After a few moments she sat up on the neutral colored carpet and wiped away the carpet. She let a few more chuckles out as the head guard spoke to Dr. Wilkinson, someone Charlotte hadn't even seen yet.
"I apologize for inconveniencing you, docotor, but would you mind hanging onto her until Dr. Peterburg arrives?" After receiving the docotor's approval, they took their leave.
Finally calming down, Charlotte looked around. Her vision was still blurry, but she could see for the most part. There was an adult she already didn't like, and a girl with a notepad. She decided to ignore the adult and concentrate solely on the girl. Maybe then she would stop twitching so much.

Silence. For the time-period of a few minutes, that was all that held the room now that the stranger had arrived. Stranger wasn't really the word for her, if you really thought about it. After all, she had seen her in the halls earlier that same day.
Before, all Midori had wanted Dr. Wilkinson to do was shut up and leave her alone. But now that they were all quiet, after Dr. Wilkinson had happily agreed to watch the girl for a while, the silence was almost unbearable.
And it wasn't even the silence that was getting Midori uneasy. It was the fact tha the girl had taken one look at the doctor and sent her a sneer after her odd fit of laughter and was now solely looking at her.
Almost as if her eyes were penetrating her skin and focusing more on the wall behind her.
Guessing that she had seen the unease and uncomfort given off by her, Dr. Wilkinson broke the odd silence.
"Why don't you have a seat, dear. And since you're with us, would you mind telling us your name?"
Midori smiled at the questions, noting that this could actually be cause for some entertainment. From the earlier sneer, she could tell that this girl was not going to want to do anything she didn't have to for Dr. Wilkinson.
'Well this should be interesting...'

Ironically, part of the time Charlotte was focused on the girl in front of her, while the rest of the time, she was watching the wall. Her eyes were just having trouble focusing. But, her hands knew exactly what they were doing. She tapped on the carpet below her in a steady rhythm, and the rest of her twitching began to die down. As she long as she kept it steady and concentrated on one thing, she'd be fine. And that one thing happened to be the girl in front of her.
Charlotte was already sitting on the carpet, so she didn't bother standing up or sitting in a chair or anything. She just smiled when the doctor made the suggestion. Then, for the first time since she entered the room, she pulled her eyes away from the girl to stare at the doctor blankly. Surprisingly, Charlotte held no negativity towards the doctor, but then again, she didn't really find herself liking the woman either.
"Actually, I would mind. But, since you're the only one who seems to ask nicely around here, I will give you my first name. But, only the first." With her last sentence said, she waved her index finger at the doctor, like she was scolding a child. "It's Charlotte." Then, she again fixed her gaze on the girl, a smile touching her face. "What's your name?"
She was beginning to calm down and become a bit more benign, most likely the effects of the anti-depressants she was likely to have through her blood system.

Midori opened her mouth as if to respond before shutting it tightly. Her eyes had shifted onto Dr. Wilkinson who sat by expectantly, waiting with a look of hope in her eyes for some form of communication, whether it be a small word or a magical story filled with mermaids and leprachauns. She could have laughed if she wasn't so determined to leave her guessing at what was going on in her head. Only one small thought could sum up everything she was thinking at that exact moment.
'Sorry Girl Scout, but there's no way I'm letting you win this.'
Sitting back and gazing down at her erase-board silently, Midori picked up her marker and answered in her small handwriting before gazing back up at Charlotte with a ghost of a smile and holding up the results.
.:My name is Midori:.

Ofelia De La Cruz was being wheeled into the hospital like building atop a large stretcher. This apparently was protocol for patients with Autism, Multiple Peronality Disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder, Schizophrenia and the like. She found it odd, seeing as she was no danger to anybody. She was actually rather calm and intelligent. This theory was communicated to the Doctor that greeted her, but he simply sighed.
"I'm sorry but this is just the way things are. Bare with it." Ofelia gave a shrug, or what was an excuse for one. The straps on the stretcher were quite tight.
"Is this really necessary? I mean, I may be, as you call it, 'schizophrenic' but haven't I proven that I am level headed enough to walk around on my own without requiring a drug? Besides, my friends don't bother me when I'm doing important things. They only come when I need their help."
"Now, do they decide you need their help or do you? From what I've heard it seems like they do all the talking and persuading for you."
"That's absurd. I am of perfectly sane state of mind. I decide when I need help. I decide when to ignore them. Can't you people see that? Haven't I proved myself yet?"
"I must admit, you are rather smart but there's one thing you're missing: People your age shouldn't have imaginary friends. We're just trying to make you normal."
That was the last straw for Ofelia. "Normal? What is normal? Normal is a stereotypical standard for society that fluctuates over time. In any case, you people are such hypocrites! Don't you encourage kids to have imaginary friends? What's wrong with having them when you're older?!"
At this, the Doctor laughed. "Well, you'll get to make a statement later. We've arrived at your new PCP's office. She's just going to tell you the same thing. You'll be able to leave when you loose the friends."
The very thought of loosing her closest friends sent chills up her spine.
