Fireball96740 Throughout the series, Sesshomaru has begun to gain compassion through Rin. So, he feels more compassionate about her than anyone else. Personally, Sesshy acts more fatherly-like than anything else around her. I beg to differ on this one. Not that he doesn't have compassion for his little girl; but that she's the only one. Sesshoumaru has shown that he has compassion for others, as well (Kohaku - seeing as he took the boy under his wing and is rather protective of him, Inuyasha -yes, Inuyasha! Though not to the point of being brotherly love - and especially Kagura - though sadly, it wasn't made blatantly iobvious until after she had pased away).

Dragon-Ninjutsu yeah same here.... i love the pairing Lady Sara and Sessomaru (this pairing is off the actual show) and whatg gets me is SHE WAS A HUMAN!!!! thus the bond between rin and him is its his little girltim mcgraws song comes to mind... That two parter was little more than filler and holds about as much weight as an Inuyasha fanfiction does (absolutely none). Sara (thankfully) was never part of the original story and was really nothing more than a dreadful Mary Sue dreamt up by Sunrise Entertainment (she was a mesh of Rin, Izayoi and Oniugumo - which gained my sheer hatred of her very existance from the getgo). And considering that Sesshoumaru was handled very much out of character in that two parter, if Sara were an actual character in the official story, she would be the last person Sesshoumaru would be likely to hook up with.

I wouldn't say fatherly. I believe that his initial interest in Rin was due to the fact that she was not afraid of him when he was injured and despite what he told her, she continued to try and help him recover when he was injured.
That is the reason he revived her after the wolves killed her- the manga and the series emphasized that.
As for allowing her to follow him: Would you bring someone back from the dead and not want to see what happens to them? He knew all along she was human, but different from most humans. And being human, he also knew that she would be virtually helpless in the demon world. Being a human child would make her moreso.
But you must remember that Rin was quite independent when Sesshomaru met her- she had been virtually on her own since her family was killed by bandits and was doing quite well. She remained somewhat independent after she started following Sesshomaru.
There is also the possibility that Tensaiga bringing her back to life had an influence on HER decision to follow him. Did anyone think of that- remember there are supernatural forces that surround both brothers' swords. If Tensaiga is supposed to be used to revive a dead person or demon, would it not make sense that Tensaiga has some control over that person, and the person wielding it?

I only follow the anime series, but to me it seemed that he treated her as a servant, akin to Jakin. Although he tolerated her (probably because of her own independence and strong will) he never had any true feelings for her. This was illustrated in the third movie.

It's a fatherly instinct in my opinion though it seemed to start out of curiousity when they first met.

Jumps the Rope OMG people please. See manga episode titled:: Rin's Death, Sesshoumaru's Love theres SOMETHING there! Or how about when he says this to a new sword technique: To exchange this for Rin's life... IT MEANS NOTHING!! ... or... just watch this video =D http://youtube.com/watch?v=eVV-QYDS8PUThere are different forms of love - Sesshoumaru's love for Rin is simply paternal in nature. Not sure what episode you're referring to in thta regards, as there has never been an episode under that title. Unless you mean 'Together with Lord Sesshourmaru: Forever', which was a filler episode (as it never took place in the official story) and made Rin almost seem obsessive when it came to Sesshoumaru. O.o His words in regards to Rin's dying for the sake of mastering his sword does not prove there's a love more than that of a parent - as anyone who has a child in their care would state the very same thing in the same situation (that power in exchange for a child's life is not worth it).

Although he tolerated her (probably because of her own independence and strong will) he never had any true feelings for her. This was illustrated in the third movie. I would suggest reading the manga - evidence clearly shows that Rin is more than a servant to him; as Jaken states himself (to Sesshoumaru's mother) that Sesshoumaru treats Rin more favorably then him (Jaken). Meaning, Rin is akin to his child than a servant.

I definitely see Sess as a father figure to Rin. I can't get into that paring as anything more than that, but Sess/Kagome...i can get into that! biggrin

I loved that video. It almost brought a tear to my eye. Oh and I also believe that he's like a guardian to her, but I like to mess with people and say that he's just waiting for her to get older.
