"Out of sight out of mind" referrs to things that you are not overly concerned with or that do not pertain to you on a level that you would stress over it... or perhaps you stress over it so much that you would prefer not to think of it while...
"Absense makes the heart grows fonder" is a diffrent matter entirely. this applies only to people who truely care for each other. it is not the distance that makes them care even more for each other, but miss each other so much that they realize just how much they care for eachother....
OR...
"He who hesitates is lost" applies to people who hesitate at EVERYTHING, however you should always "look before you leap" to avoid throwing yourself into a mess. it takes only two seconds to look, but far too long to hesitate
hmm... did any of that make sense? sweatdrop
my question>>
If a man is in a forest and there's no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?

Does it seem like this thread is becoming less like Ponderables and more like the Question Game (or everything but Yes or No)?

Pepsi doesn't taste like someone peed in it. Why DO you gain more weight when you switch to diet foods?

you assume that because you are on a diet you do not need to exercise, and so do not lose what weight you gain when you eat.... OR because "heathly" food tastes so gross, you gulp it down quickly to avoid actually having to taste it and as a result, you gain weight
which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Well according to the theory of evolution, the egg did, because the thing that laid it was not a chicken originally.....
Now for some koans: A monk once asked Jo Ju, "Does a dog have Buddha-nature?" Jo Ju answered, "Mu!" (No) 1. Buddha said everything has Buddha-nature. Jo Ju said a dog has no Buddha-nature. Which one is correct?
2. Jo Ju said, "Mu!" What does this mean? 3. I ask you, does a dog have Buddha-nature?
