"No, rather than annoy some monstrosity she has taken it upon herself to annoy a rather beautiful mare with a monstrous temper when it comes to her hair." Not that he himself would have been entirely thrilled to have the wild sprite of a mare nesting in his mane... But he would at least handle himself with dignity.
He snorted, eyes narrowing slightly. "There are some whom I would rather see stay there than come here." Some of the other Knights included. Pride and ego were bound to bash against one another from time to time and his seemed to clash with many. "Sad, but some of the... More unique members of our former home may not even be able to tell the difference between the dead things and the living."

"I believe i am almost beginning to understand Lady's tempter." She shook her head to get some of her now long mane out of her eyes. If it wasn't for the fact that she'd become fond of the tresses she'd find the nearest two legger and make them chop it back off. Stuff got in the way when one didn't want it to.
"I doubt those ones will notice that is going on around then them." They would keep up their lives no worse for the wear of the Knights were gone. She grinned at him after a moment. "You wish the other Knights would stay there, or at least not here." She knew his ego enough to know he'd rather be able to handle things with just her help.

"Do not try too hard to understand her temper... You may find yourself thinking like a mare." He smirked as he turned away from her, heading back towards the forest so that he could lead her to the pond as he had told the petite mare he would. It would not be right to leave her waiting forever, even if it was tempting to do so if only to see if she would remain.
"I agreed to join Lady Luck for a change of scenery. Did you not grow weary of the same thing day in and day out, Dark Lady? Life cannot go on in the same manner forever."

She snorted softly as she turned to follow after him. "It is far unlikely that something like that will ever happen." She had never thought like most mares and the world would probably come crashing down around her ears the moment she did. She'd rather that not happen.
"The scenery was not the same thing long after you and she left. Things changed quickly." That had not been the reason she'd left. She knew Telikos couldn't handle things himself constantly and knew he'd need her help.

"About as likely as myself acting like a true gentleman, correct? I believe you said something along those lines afterall and I intend to keep you to them." He nodded as he pressed on, pace slower than it would have usually been. He was in no hurry to return to the pond, even if that was the direction they were moving in.
He could handle things just fine on his own, of course. He had done so before she'd come along and he would continue to do so. He did not need a mare's help... Even if that mare was one that should have been born a stallion. "Things often do."

"Correct" she nodded slightly as she caught up to him and walked along beside him. Hopefully their little companion would not be too overjoyed in seeing them return. The last thing she needed was a bouncing petite mare.
At least none of them had started cursing the Great Spirits for the damage to their home. She'd had to see what happened when that started. The spirits obviously wanted them elsewhere so they should oblige. "

His pace slowed as he neared the space where he had left the petite mare, wanting to see if he could catch her offguard as he had often done to other Soquili under his direct command. He saw her with her nose in a small patch of flowers and, grinning, cleared his throat as loudly as he could. He was permitted to have a little bit of fun, wasn't he?
Hearing the sound she snapped to attention, head held high and legs straight. "I was paying attention, really I was! No one has come by the pond and it did not go anywhere. It, like I, was here the entire time."

The sound of the water got her attention faster than the Telikos startling the poor miniature mare. Shaking her head she moved past the stallion toward the pond.
"Greetings." She bowed her head to Chal before leaning down to sniff at the water before taking a drink. She could leave explaining to the petite one that Telikos had her guarding something that didn't need guarding later. Preferably when he wasn't around.

"As it should be." He stood perfectly still, eyeing the petite mare for a moment before bowing dismissively. "You may stand down."
She released the breath she'd been holding, smiling brightly up at the large stallion. She gave her head a light toss as a sort of 'salute' before trotting over to the dark mare. "Telikos was telling me of all sorts of adventures he's had... Then we found this pond which lead to tales about creatures that live within the water." She leaned in closer to Alysida. "... Was he telling the truth about them?"

She straightened up slightly from where she'd stooped to take a drink and looked at bright blue eyes. "That depends entirely on what he told you could be in there."
There were creatures that lived in the water some real some not. One could never tell which one Telikos would end up telling the Usdia about.

He'd been watching quietly for a moment, amused by the interaction between the two mares. He approached them slowly, brow lofted as he turned to the Dark Lady. "Think you that I would fill this impressionable mare's mind with untruths, Alysida? I told her of the kelpi and the tricks they play upon those who linger by their waters." They were tales that children were told to keep them from wandering into the depths that they weren't prepaired for... But they held some truths.

She grinned at him slowly. "You could have. One never knows what pretty tales your tongue as weaved." She looked back down to the little mare.
"If he told you of the Kelpies then it was truth. Though i doubt one has made a home in a pond this small." It would only be a matter of time though. Eventually there would be a kelpie for ever body of water.

"The only 'pretty tales' are those of a ficticious nature. I speak only truths, Dark Lady; especially when in your presence." He smirked, knowing well that when he was around her she would go to all ends to catch him in even the slightest bend of truth.
"One cannot be certain, Lady Alysida. Things come in all shapes and sizes. Maybe... There's a Kelpi small enough for this pond." She took a step forward, eyeing her reflection in the crystal surface as if expecting it to come to life beneath her and drag her in, eyes wide.

She shook her head slightly. "Were there one we would have come back and found no trace of you." She nudged the little one's side before straightening up. "I would say that the fact that you are still here means that there is nothing in that pond beside perhaps a few frogs."

She thought on that for a moment, eyeing the pond cautiously before taking a step closer to Alysida. No sense taking any chances... At least now she'd know to be a bit more cautious the next time Telikos asked her to guard a pond; things like that weren't to be taken lightly.
He tried not to chuckle at the petite mare's movements, trying even harder not to let a grin curve his mouth. "It never hurts to be cautious and vigilant."
