Ianthe nodded to him excitedly, happy that he seemed to share her excitement in this thing called the sea. "Yeah!" she breathed, letting herself gather her thoughts before continuing to speak.
"I don't know where it is, but I'm moving east since that's the only place I haven't really wandered too, and some birds I've met along the way tell me it's the right direction. I just hope that they're telling me the truth, or it'll take me forever to get there!" A worried laugh escaped from her throat as she continued. "I don't know what it'll look like when I get there. Do you think it'd smell different? I'd think it's just like a watering hole, only really biiiig."
Her eyes widened at the though before she laughed again, curiously looking towards Chakelete again. "What about you? Are you trying to get somewhere special?"

"Well water does smell different." he then added, feeling knowledgeable about something. "I actually heard a rumor once from some talkative birds that there are some types of water that have salt in it. So, you can pick up the scent of salt in the air. That must be fascinating, and a wonderful smell!" Though, he wasn't sure where THAT kind of water would be. "You can always tell you are around water when the air gets cooler, too. And there is this misty feel to everything. Its really nice."
At her question, he only chuckled lightly. "Naw, not really. I guess I just enjoy finding things randomly. Any excuse to get lost is fun for me, like right now, I have no idea where I am. But, it led me to meeting you so, I am beyond thankful!"

Ianthe listened intently to what Chakelete had to say about different smelling water. She could understand that there was a certain scent to water, or well, at least something in the air, because she had used it to help her find water around in her travels. But for the sea to have a totally different smell! That was mind boggling to her. "Wow!" she shouted, amazed with what her new friend knew. She tried to imagine what salt water might smell like, but she didn't get too far with it. She moreso just crunched her nose up, but that didn't help either. Oh well, she would just have to find it someday.
"You sound like you know a lot, Chakelete. That's really neat. You must have been travelling for a long time to learn so much!" Ianthe's mind didn't held onto some information well unless it was something that she was excited about, like the sea. So she was amazed he seemed to have so much in his head!

"I suppose that would be true." he then said, with a light grin. "Though I sometimes wonder how much longer I am going to travel, before I settle down for awhile. Although I love wandering, the thought of stopping and.. trying something different might be nice too."
Taking a deep sigh, he stood up, and stretched his body out lazily. "I'm afraid I've rested long enough, and its time for me to keep moving. I don't really sleep a lot, and I try to get more running done at night then during the day, since it can be so hot." He gave Ianthe a big smile, and realized he was sort of sad to leave! "You were such nice company Ianthe, I really hope I run into you again soon." She was someone to be remembered, and he felt honored for being able to sit with her for so long.
"Good luck on your travels, and I hope we run into each other soon." Glancing at her one last time, he then turned his body and swiftly started into a run, only to vanish into the dark distance. What a nice female, he was sure he would see her again!

Ianthe was intrigued that he was moving on, in the dead of night, too! Well, maybe it wasn't the dead of night, but it was pretty dark, even with the moon giving off it's soft white glow. Her ears pricked up as she heard him mentioning moving on, and gave him her own farewell.
"I hope to see you again too. Bye Chakelete!"
It seemed so quick, but she knew how things went. There were other times when she got a burst of energy and fled her own company as well, always determined to reach her destination. Perhaps he felt the same way, and she knew that she would see him again. She'd tell him how great the sea was, once she got there!
