Yes I believe that racisim still exists. because you know when us white people (especially the extreemly pale ones) try to talk like gangstas other people are always like "You're too white to be saying that."
But that point aside personally I could care less what color people's skin is too me it's all the same. I don't know why people choose to discriminate others just becuase of their skin color. You know there's gangs that fight over that now a days? But sadly yes. And I believe that the African Americans choose to do bad things sometimes because they believe that that's what people expect from them and they and fufill the expectation. But I better shut up about this before I get yelled at by other gaian members.

Racism, sexism, and any other means of noting differences in that which is different will always exist. I personally can't stand those who say, "I don't see color." My response is generally, "Are you blind? You're talking to a black (african american) man. You're white, and he's different than you." It's almost as if he's saying he can look at a person and not see how big their feet are in comparison his. You, as a human, compare and contrast everything, but to constantly act negatively upon your observations is unfair to the victim.

Some people would consider me a racist, but I'm actually not a racist at all, I have friends of all races. I actually just joke about other races, with my friends of other races. My friends know I'm joking and none of them see it as a problem or issue.

Yes, it does exist.

For example. An African and Native Canadian can get into college with a 60% average, while a 'white' Canadian would need about a 70% to 75% average. There are also "Black Pride" clubs but no "White Pride" clubs. If their were, people would see them as another KKK, probably.

And yes. A lot of "white" people are still racist toward Asians, 'Blacks' etc. It frustrates me, because the only difference is skin colour and minor body structure differences. I hate all racism because it is stemmed from idiocy and ignorance.

Look I hate to burst your bubbles here people but, everyone is racist to an extent. In all honesty you can't tell me you've never laughed at a black joke or a joke about a mexican or a pollock (polish ppl) or a white joke. You also can't tell me that you don't sterotype people by their race. For example all middle eastern people work in gas stations. You think this stuff even if you don't say it out loud. Another thing I catch myself doing is constantly saying "If your in America learn to speak *** **** english!".

So yes, it does exist. Everyone is guilty of it. And if we would all just except eachother bigotry there would be much less tension.

Racism is a major part of society. Two words- Affirmative Action. (or, rather, reverse discrimination)

Basically, my sister's mexican friend had about a 3.2 and a 26 on her ACTs and got a full ride into college. Her white friend, in the exact same school/courses/etc. got a 3.8 and a 26 on her ACTs and didn't. (She did get a scholarship, but not a full ride)

I don't understand why that happened. Are Mexicans/other minorities stupider and that's why they don't have as hard of criteria to get the scholarships? Or maybe they just don't have any faith in their ability to perform. (please, note the sarcasm dripping off those last two sentences. I know race has nothing to do with intelligence or faith, which is my point.)

And I know my grandfather is horribly racist against black people. A good friend of mine against mexicans.

And I don't think laughing at racist jokes makes you racist. I think it means you recognize the stereotypes and find the humor in it all. And you can be racist without believing the racial stereotypes.

But yeah, sometimes race isn't so much the issue. Sometimes it's sexism or classism (I for one am guilty of that. I get really nervous in the inner city sometimes) But, as long as people are different and proud, there will be every kind of -ism you can think of.

Okay if we whites are so racist then why are we being brought down now. All of the jobs are being taken over by Mexicans. All of our customer service is being outsourced to India and China. The caucasian society is being run over. What happened to the African American people is wrong but come on get over it. Just get on with you lives. This stuff happened to their great grandparents and they are acting like it happened to them. And as for the N word I have heard them even say it to each other so dont give me that bull.

I think that racism is only a way of indentifying other individuals, just like saying that the person has blue eyes or blonde hair. If someone is telling you that you are racest when you are only being a realist, tell them that they are the one's noticing the difference as a bad thing by correcting you. People use race as a way to chose who to hang out with sometimes, but that is because they are behind the times, close minded and barbaric.

Zach [Todd Lowe]- "-Singing- A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing." Dude, what's a bulwark?
Brian [John Cabrera]- What?
Zach- It says, "A bulwark never failing."
Brian- I think it's a wall?

I don't think very many people care what's politically correct and what isn't. Not everyone uses the term "African American." And I RARELY hear the term "Caucasion." But even more, I've never heard an African American get pissed when they have been called black. Same goes for a white person being called white.

I do agree that it's annoying when people assume that the reason they're going to jail is because the cop/judge/whatever is racist. Although, that sometimes is the case.

I also agree with Sailor_Gunner_Cat. Everyone is somewhat racist.

Zach- Then why don't they just say that? Bulwark sounds totally gay.
Brian- -Laughs- I don't think you're supposed to call a hymn gay. It's like a sin or something.
Zach- Whatever, man. I'm not saying bulwark.

I don't stereotype people by their race.
I have never ever though that all middle eastern people work at gas station. I have never even seen a person of that ethnicity work at one before.

KYMOM302003 has a point. The caucasian (spelling?) society is being trampled (Strangely it's being trampled by caucasians.). Now if you hate anyone who isn't white then you're considered racist. This is not to say that the slavery that happened was not horrible... it should have never happened. But the fact is that it's all history now. We should all just forget about it and move on... slavery doesn't affect us anymore.

I agree that people are a little too quick to scream "racist" if someone acts even slightly rude to an ethnic minority. If I hate someone, it's because that person pissed me off somehow, not because he's black or hispanic or what have you. I won't deny that stereotyping sometimes slips into my conscious thoughts, but I do my best to immediately banish it and keep it from surfacing in conversation.
