The male nodded to Kabichi, doing his best to relax his stance. The large black and white male didn't make this easy, though. He glanced at the male, curious, pondering. "It is good that you are alright. And you..." He pointedly gazed at Sairin, "Do you possibly have Firekin blood in you? The only lions I've seen as large as you have been Firekin..." Of course, the adolescent male was rather clearly no match for his equally monochromatic companion where size was...

Standing close to Kabichi, Shin eyed the larger scarlet lions. After a moment, he looked to his uncle, "Uncle Sairin, I... I trust their word... They may only look fierce because we're all shackles up over the running and the scaring and..." He trailed off, not wanting to think of the accidental blood spill. The smell in itself made his back prickle, the scars and few remaining scabs to seem to tighten. He wasn't in any danger, he could somehow sense it. It was likely the calm manners of the red male, the way he only seemed to have tensed when Sairin did.

"Hnnnnn." Sairin didn't seem to relent or tense further, instead padding to Shin and grooming one of his ears before glancing again.

"As for your question, I would not know. I have not heard of the Firekin. I simply, am."

With that, he finished caring for Shin a bit, much like a bored cat, and groomed his own paw, not much caring for the female with her safety secure. She was no relation to HIM.

Kabichi watched the exchange, ears pricking forward. Firekin? What was that?

"Maybe other lions besides your people are also large. My mother was very large."

Sairin snorted mid-lick. That puny thing's mother was large?!

Settling down, Paki watched the interactions of the other lions with amuzement, rather glad that Khepri was beside him. Of course he was rather glad that the two of them were being ignored the way they were, the others seemed too intent on one another, and Boda seemed to have forgotten his traveling companions all together.

Ignored once more by everyone in the vicinity, Khepri settled down on her haunches and watched.

Shin tilted his head, surprised that Kabichi's mother was large like his uncle. He was distracted, though, by the other two lions moving. As if to prove his trust in the lot, he went over curiously, sniffing at Paki. "Your nose is alright, isn't it...?" It looked pretty nasty..

Bodaway tilted his head, remembering her running form looking familiar. Stepping just a bit closer, he forrowed his brow slightly. "Do you remember her name...? I may have... Known her..." Memories had been reawakened, and there was no ignoring them.

Kabichi blinked, rising on her haunches to be on better ground with the larger lion a minute before nodding.

"I can't forget."

And she immediately fell over onto her back.

Sairin blinked, and padded after, nodding politely to Khepri.

"I* do apologize. I honestly don't know the lioness well."

He made no mention he didn't know Shin well, either. "I don't know why she panicked."

Twitching his somewhat broken nose at the question, Paki smiled and tried to make it look as if it didn't hurt him half as much as it was. "No worries, I've fallen harder when I was a cub. She's alright though eh?"

That was what mattered more to him at the moment, was that the little female he'd almost tripped on was okay. He hadn't meant to hurt her of course, tried to dodge her. Yet at the same time he had mashed his own face. That was the way of things Paki supposed. His pappi had run into the same situation.

A laugh erupted from Khepri at this. So he didn't know her but he travled with her, how awkward for him. It was somewhat like the way she herself was now traveling, didn't know either of the males that well yet at the same time was traveling with them on her word and honor. THere was an irony to this.

"Ah don' mind. No worrehs frien'. Jus' try an' keep 'er a little closah eh?" was all that Khepri came up with in response, her tarnished gold eyes dancing in amuzement.

Shin nodded, then went over to assure Kabichi was alright. Certain she wasn't hurt, he lay down next to her, tucking his paws close. He looked ever the loyal mate at that moment. Red eyes glanced to the large red lions for a moment before he decided they were trustworthy.

Bodaway, too, nodded, though he watched Sairin. He didn't know them... Yet traveled with them... He'd made an effort to get to know Paki and Khepri, at least... "So where are you all off to, anyway? We seem to be heading in the same direction..."

Novastrike
Kabichi curled against Shin, blinking silently before Sairin spoke for them all.

"I'm accompanying them to the Pridelands for... Unfinished business."

A nasty smile graced the liion's lips, thinking of his brother.

Toshiro would die...

Paki sniffed slightly through his nose and settled down before glancing blindly over at Bodaway. He was anxious to be gone from this uncomfortable group of lions. It seemed as if they didn't trust one another enough to know each other. One had the smell of cruelty while the others seemed only to smell of dissension. For whatever reason, Paki didn't feel like ending up anymore in the middle of it, or anywhere near it when the time came to find out exactly why that lion smelled so cruel to him.

"Yo're goin' somewher' near where we're headed." Khepri alluded softly. She wasn't of the need to tell them exactly where she was headed, nor did she want to out of evident displeasure for being forced to wait so much longer for these three in order to get where she was going. It had been so long already that she just wanted to be there and thy were slowing her down.

However she wasn't a cruel or mean lioness, nor was she rude in any way, so she didn't show this on her face or in her body language. Simply she thought it and stood still as a statue where she was.

Bodaway nodded at the group, tail curling. "Well, I wish you luck. Perhaps in the paths life leads us upon, we may meet again." A smile graced his maw as he began to walk. "But only Finar-si knows that for certain." He looked back at Khepri and Paki, nodding to them. "Come on, time waits for no lion." Moving across the grass, he started on in the direction they'd been heading.

Shin nuzzled Kabichi, grooming at her ears gently. "It'll be okay, Kabichi... We'll be home soon, and... You can relax, and be safe..." He glanced at the departing lion, ears flicking a bit in his partial mane.
