Nahanni winced lightly. "Fun?" She turned her eyes to watch where she was walking as she thought. Why was that a question everyone seemed to ask? She didn't hang out with others at all, so she never concerned over how fun were the things she would do. Time simply passed each day. "I just enjoy quiet time, observing natural things...." And murky eyes peeked to the teen. "What do you do for fun?"

Paradise thought for a moment. "I guess that depends on if I'm around anyone I feel like hanging out with. I guess most of the time I just wander around and watch nature do the things nature does." They... sort of... had that in common. Maybe. Why was this so hard? D8

"Ohh." Banded tails curled under, taking the words as hints. It all depended on who to spend time with, but she was difficult to share it that way. Did Paradise mean she wanted to wander away now? At least with nature, you didn't have to worry about awkward respoces. "Sorry."

Paradise blinked at Nahanni. "Sorry? For what?" Though her posture hinted at a miscommunication... "I didn't mean anything personally, if that's what you think. Just a... generalization, or something." She shrugged. "I'm not too good with people, I guess. I'm blunt and I speak my mind and some people don't take too well to hearing honest opinions. Like one guy I met that almost killed me with his little dagger-things. That was an accident, he was after a rabbit for lunch and a couple of 'em missed the rabbit and almost hit me. He was being an a** after that though, and he got... disagreeable when I told him so. I think you're nice, so far, if... timid. So... well, I don't know what comes after the so."

Nahanni flushed to herself, embarrassed by the mistake. "No.....I'm not too good around people either." She listened kindly as Paradise described the dagger fellow. "That must have been scary!" She winced at her slightly raised voice, turning her eyes back at the trail. She rarely felt excitement, let aloned expressed it. Ears fell back at the harsh name she called the other kitsu. Ohhhh, she'd be in big trouble if she ever said that. At least around her parents. "So.....?" Her thoughst drifted to her words. "Where are your parents? Uh, if I may ask...."

Paradise looked thoughtful. "I didn't have time to be afraid, or at least... to register it. Y'know? I had to move and I had to move fast, if I'd gotten afraid I might have frozen and then I'd be shishkabobbed. After that I was kinda mad so I didn't really think about being afraid then either. Though I guess not thinking about it is different than actually not being afraid..."
Nahanni's question about her parents got a long pause and finally a shrug. "Honestly?... I don't know where they are. I guess I had to have had parents, or I wouldn't be here... but they're either dead or just gone. Nobody seems to have any idea who they might be, either. I was on my own when they found me." She half grimaced and half grinned. "Guess I kept to that trend, huh?"

"To let it register?" Made sense, almost like training magic. Or at least whenever the topic of wands was about. The tan adult nodded quietly. "Yeah, I think so too. Almost...like you don't realize you're afraid till you slow down to feel it." Some people called it a 'rush'. Nahanni, though, had never experienced such a feeling. Just gone? Did the young girl honestly not care, with how she was speaking? "Oh, a trend?" Being on one's own, something Nahanni spent doing in tiny, daily amounts. But to continue it from the beginning? "Wow, you talk almost like my babysitter. Err, not that I still have one...." Fluster.

"Yeah... I didn't slow down enough to register it, I guess. I'm kinda glad I didn't... I have a feeling that guy would have enjoyed it, and I wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction." She padded along beside Nahanni and lifted an eyebrow at her correction. If Paradise had been in a teasing mood... she would have needed that correction, but at the moment she was satisfied with the conversation. "Of course you don't... unless he's really good at sneaking behind people." She peered back over her shoulder on impulse, but she didn't see anything but plantlife and the effects of the wind. "Who was your babysitter, then?" Idle curiosity... she doubted she'd met the person with how few kitsu she'd encountered, but you never knew.

Nahanni sensed the raised brow and peered over. But the teen made no motion of it, nor spoke of whatever emotion quelled at that time. "I guess." She would never understand those who enjoyed to place such pressures on others. Nahanni watched like a curious doe as Paradise peered about energetically, causing herself to check her surroundings. Just light and yellow field grass. "Oh, a friend of my aunt Ginny." The female continued her slow pace. "I think his name was Ronan; I'm not too sure." She had been way to nervous to even speak with the sitter, let alone remember certain details.

Paradise almost stopped; almost. Her pace definitely slowed. "...Really colorful guy? With stripes?" Wow. Had she heard something about Ronan babysitting someone? Maybe? Maybe not. She couldn't remember off-hand. She just remembered how much fun it was to make Terasu jump. >>

A simple nod was given as Nahanni continued her stroll. "Yeah, that sounds like him. But he has white eyes." After all, there were quite a variety of colorful kitsusagi around. Red banded tails swished tiredly from side to side. "That was back when I was a teen though. An 'effort to get me out and socialize'." A heplful tactic made by her family, mush to her and her sitter's dismay. Too bad she just wasn't that type of kitsu, as it was proven when she aged just as shyly.

Paradise snickered softly. "Jokes on them, then. Even if he was my first buddy and I met him when I was a kit... he didn't strike me as the type to like to hang out with children. I'm not a typical kit, so maybe that's why..." She shrugged. "But... if you're not the social type, you're not the social type. Nothing wrong with it. Just means when you do make friends they mean that much more." A momentary pause. "I wonder if I can be friends with Ronan and not just buddies after he gets back... never got to hang out enough with him for it to really be decided before." It was more to herself than for the sake of conversation, but hey...

Nahanni slowed as it just now registered that Paradise knew the kitsu she was speaking of. The young witch could get so spacey at times, and she shook her head. "I don't know, aunt Ginny trusted him enough. We never talked though...." Nothing but basic replies and greetings. Her paws did a dead stop when Paradise kept talking, and murky eyes winced as they turned to the teen. "Th...thank you." Her gaze went back to the ground. "It's nice to hear that nothing is wrong about it." Sure family said it all the time, but to hear it from an outsider so confidently. It almost felt true..
But. "Well, aren't friends and buddies the same thing?" Was she that out of the loop hole? There was a difference?

Paradise stopped along side Nahanni. "Lots of creatures are solitary by nature... and with ones like us that think, it varies from one to one. But yeah... being solitary for some is just as normal as it is for others to have to be around people all the time. Most just... fall between the two, so you don't hear about them as much. The solitary ones less so than the other, too, because... well, if you don't talk to people then people don't usually talk about you."
The bit about friends and buddies was... a twist, for her. "I... guess it depends on the person? I usually think of buddies as people I like to hang out with that I don't know if they think of me as a friend yet. I never really... thought about whether there's actually a difference in the meaning of the terms..." Puzzlement.

Lots were solitary? They must be good at it, because she hadn't crossed alot, if any, at all. "It is normal." And here it was so hard to believe having a large and social family. Nahanni peeked to Paradise passed her red hair. "I think I like that though. Not talking about others......sometimes." And here, a shy smile tucked at her lips. But friends were the exception, right?
Maybe they'd need a dictionary about these words? "But then, who asks first?" Was there a line that actually had to be hopped from buddies to friends? No one else seemed to make it so difficult. Why was it so hard to understand? gonk
