I live in the county of Greenville. These are the hauntings of Greenville, SC.
Greenville - Children's Graveyard - A graveyard behind a gas station near Furman U., mainly for children. Tombstones range from the late 1700's to late 1800's. Lights, laughter, running sounds.
Greenville - Embassy Suites - Lights turn on and off at random. Doors fly open. During construction (Which was halted for almost 2 years when investors pulled, after staying on the grounds and then leaving abruptly.) many reports were sent in to Greenville police department that someone was staying in the rooms because the lights were on in the building. No electricity was on in the building at the time. PD responding to repeated calls secured the area- and still received complaints. The Golf course has three places that will NOT grow grass. Wailing noise has been heard on the course, followed by foliage disturbances.
Greenville - Old Tuberculosis Hospital - Update: also known as Devil's Castle - Has since burned down - Reports of footsteps that break into a run, then screams, on the first floor. On the third floor feelings of being pushed accompanied by loud clattering in the hall and items moving, and apparitions. Singing has been heard- Formerly listed as Taylors - TB Asylum then a work release prison, & Travelers Rest - TB hospital/Insane Asylum.
Greenville - Route 107 - this is a ghost of a young man named Larry Stevens (commonly known as The Hitchhiker) who's plane crashed on Route 107 during the 1950's. People have seen a man on dark and rainy nights walking along Route 107 and disappearing.
Greenville - Tanglewood Middle School - In the 1950s, after the schools construction, a girl was killed in the Girls Locker Room. From legends told you can see a dark shadow slamming the girls locker room door, many people have saw this acclaimed shower. In the boys Locker Room the showers will go off and on by themselves, and occasionally a locker door will slam. Also, the lights will go off automatically. The sixth grade hall, on rainy days you will see wet footprints made by no one when your alone. Also, there is rumor to be a lower sixth grade hall in which a mad man entered and killed nearly every student, the blood on the walls is said to seep through the fresh paint. The lower sixth grade hall was said to be buried after the incident, and tops of door frames have been found.

I live in a town called Guildford in Surrey, England. Partly due to years of reading up on the history of the area and partly because of the local ghost tour I know nearly all of the hauntings in the area. Not at all obsessive am I? These are some of the hauntings in the area but there are a lot more.
I'm not sure of the exact area but there's a charming story that in the 11th Century a fierce battle took place and the survivors of the losing side were beaten, tortured and nine out of ten men killed, leaving only six survivors left. The sounds of the battle and the screams of the men are supposed to still be heard where their remains were discovered on the hills surrounding the town in the 1920's.
Angel Hotel
Sudden drops in temperature have been reported in the cellar of the building. The main reason the inn is an incident in 1969 when a couple staying in one of the rooms say the image of a man in one of the mirrors (long enough to draw a portrait of him) which eventually faded aay. No other reports have been made since then.
(formerly) Waterstones bookshop
This shop was recently refurbished and is now some clothes shop, that for the life of me, I can't rememer the name of. The remains of a jewish scroll reading room have been under the site; two hundred years ago the site was also occupied by the town prison. The sound of a heavy iron gate opening and closing has been heard, as well as voices and gurgling. Staff have been tapped on the shoulder, the lift has operated on it's own and (oddly enough) the staff kettle has turned itself on and off. A friendly looking old man has been seen on a number of occassions. I really wish I'd applied to work there.
The Star (public house)
The sound of barrels being rolled in to the cellar have been heard even when no deliveries are being made (spirits delivering spirits huh?) Various poltergeist activity has also been reported.
Loseley House Text taken from here.
"This beautiful house situated just outside Guildford in Surrey has been the home of the More-Molyneaux family since the sixteenth century. In the past its guests have included Queen Elizabeth I, King James I, Queen Anne and Queen Mary. It is also home to several ghosts. The ghost of a smiling lady dressed in Victorian clothes has been seen outside one of the bathrooms in the house. The present owner who saw the woman later found a portrait of the ghost in the attic. She is thought to have once lived there herself. Another ghost of a lady has been seen but this time she is dressed in brown and does not appear to be nearly as friendly. She has been seen standing at the bottom of the stairs, and when she appears, witnesses usually feel a coldness surround them. As the story goes, about 400 years ago the 'Brown Lady' murdered her step-son by chopping off one his legs so that her own son could inherit her husband's fortune. When her husband found out what she had done he locked her into a room and kept her there for the rest of her life. Every year, on a particular night, horrific screams are reputedly heard coming from the room where she was kept prisoner. Another ghostly lady has been seen by one of the owner's daughters. This time the ghost was that of a little old lady dressed in gray. She appeared only to the young girls in their playroom, where she would sit and smile at them, as if she was taking care of them. As the girls grew up, they realized there was something 'odd' about their friend and told their parents. The family eventually became very nervous about the ghost and left the house."

SUNY Brockport - Hartwell hall
Hartwell Hall was the first building on the SUNY Brockport campus, originally used as the Brockport Normal School, a school for teachers. Cleaning staff over the years have claimed to experience things when they are alone in the building. One spoke of a periodic flurry of ghostly activity in the hallways on one of the upper floors when spirits change classes -- doors sounding as if they're opening and closing, faint laughter and voices in the hallways... Another staff member swore she was touched on the shoulder while cleaning a classroom, only to turn around and find no one. She also said she was cleaning one of the ballet rooms and, slipping from her stepladder and falling backwards, was caught by an unknown force and set down gently, unharmed. In the basement, where an empty pool sits, workers are sure they've heard splashing.
^ I got that off a website. I have walked on the campus with some of my friedns and gone by that building. I felt four spirits there and when I brought it up had it confirmed by one of my friends.
The Morgan-Manning Manning House
History: In the early part of the 19th Century a booming business in farming implements was developed by Dayton S. Morgan and William H. Seymour. They were among the first settlers in Brockport.
The Morgan-Manning home was built in 1854. Purchased thirteen years later by Dayton S. Morgan, it remained the Morgan homestead for almost 100 years. A disastrous fire in 1964 took the life of Sara Morgan Manning, a 96 year-old widow, who was the last of seven Morgan children. It was the wish of Sara Morgan Manning that her home "would stand forever as a monument to the fine old traditions that are so important to our heritage."
Members of the Western Monroe Historical Society undertook the restoration of the fire-damaged house in 1965. Today the house stands fully restored, very much like it was when the Morgan family lived in it during the 19th century. Volunteers work diligently to maintain the house and its furnishings so that it will remain a testimony to our heritage
^ Got that off a website too. Boy I'm lazy today. Anyways, I've had quite a few experiances at that place. Someimes I've been accompanied by friends. Lots of people report at least feeling a presence around there, often times more than just that.
I'm not really sure of many other haunted places in the area. At least not ones people can have access to, but if I learn of any more I'll be sure to post them.

Apparently some houses in my town, Glen Burnie, are haunted. Pending investigation, it was revealed that there used to be a very early firing range here. Since early guns were prone to misfire, explosion, et cetera, a lot of people died at these ranges. Not to mention that Maryland is an original state, i'm sure it has a long history of Indian vs. Colonial conflict.
There is a show on the discovery channel called 'A Haunting.' Episode 13 was actually about Glen Burnie, haha.
There are also a lot of other towns around, some more historic than others. Ellicott City has a lot of haunted stuff around, it has a very historic main street shopping district. There is 'Hell House' the '7 Hills' and some other places a lot of people talk about around here.
There is also the Glendale Hospital, formerly a tuberculosis clinic shut down around the late 70's.
We found an abandoned school with soda bottles from the 60's or so, but i'm not sure where it was, it was a long time ago.
There are plenty of other places... there is an area around here that has a bridge that is one of the 'Cry Baby' bridge legends. But one of my former classmates actually hung himself on that bridge recently... police found his body early in the morning. Nobody knows why he did it, he didn't seem like an overly depressed fellow, but he was somewhat of a loner.
I can't even remember off the top of my head what else is haunted around here.

An intersection at the end of my street is said to be the most haunted area in the county that I live in. People have been having accidents there since it was a wagon trail in the 1800s. In 1968 or 69, it was the site of a horrific accident that killed 5 people, and there was miraculously one survivor, who refuses to go there at night because he's seen a shadow man there who will chase you/your car. It isn't just the survivor though, many people have claimed to see the shadow man. I've never seen anything there myself, but I am ALWAYS very careful at that intersection. A woman was killed there in an accident just yesterday.
There is said to be a haunted covered bridge and a Devil's Church in this county too. I've been to both, and have had a few strange experiences on the bridge, but the "Satanic" church, is part of the Archdioses, and though old and creepy-looking, I don't think it is Satanic (despite hearing a weird story about black dogs guarding the cemetery from my mother. Weird story though.) A heard a story that the Mary statue in front of the church is supposed to bleed at midnight, so me and my fiance sat in the driveway and watched. The Mary didn't bleed. But this guy DID run down the hill through the cemetery with a flashlight. It scared the hell out of us because we were expecting ghosts, not a creepy guy.
I told a friend about what happened, and she didn't believe me, so I took her there at midnight a few months later. The same thing happened, and we sped off. It happens whether or not you leave your headlights on. The man is very vigilant about protecting that area.
We have our own hookman story/road, a cursed gas station where a witch trial took place in the early 1800s, a cemetery haunted by a Shawnee priestess murdered by her own people, and many other places, but this post is getting kind of long.
I do have a question though. I'm going to be vacationing in Charleston, SC this summer, and was wondering if anyone knew any interesting, haunted places to go?

heres what i found on a list from the shadowlands my favorite paranormal site
Jamestown - Hollen Beck Cemetery - This Cemetery is very old.1700-1800s. There have been reports of a headless horseman chasing young girls. Animal bones lying around. Calls for help. Weird noises like someone knocking on a coffin. Babies crying. Children laughing. And a kick ball rolling around. Many of the people that died here were children of large families. The cemetery is very small only containing about 15 gravestones. There has also been spotted of what appears to be a fire further off in the woods.
Jamestown - Jefferson Middle School - in 1950's a girl died in this building! She was looking for her little brother and someone had killed her. Know one knows who. Many kids who attend this school around 1995 and up say they have seen the little girl in a white dress wandering around the halls saying, "bobby, where are you!!" Also they see a man with no head in this long dark black coat into class rooms and then things fall and big booms with out a reason.
Jamestown - Little Theater - The Little Theater seems to be haunted by many ghosts. In the shoe room, where they keep all the shoes for performances, the door will slam shut and lock when a person goes in there. The temperature will also drop significantly. Other stories have been told about a male ghost in the boiler room and practice room. People have even reported seeing a man on stage late at night, often playing pranks on people by moving things to where they should not be. He has supposedly spoken to children, luring them across the stage when unattended by their parents.
not very many places but still a few i will have to check out

I looked up a few things, cause the only thing I can think about being haunted is our school, cause it's so old. It has tunnels under it. There are even black shades that our teacher told us were from one of the World Wars.
Apparently there's a funeral home, the big Catholic church, a house owned by Marquis de Lafayette, something about a road being expanded and a bodies being moved from an area that used to be a cemetary. Keep in mind that I'm basically just skimming over things.

The woods near my house in NH. There are many things that have happened there as in sightings and some people have clinically insane after trying to spend a night in these woods claiming that they have sighted creaters looking like humans but, they were unatural with large claws and bloody feet. It was disproved that there was nothing in the woods that night but, I know there's something there.

I live in a small town in Pennsylvania and theres not many haunted places around here except for the Elementary school, the old meat store, and my cousins house. Err.. the school is believe to be haunted at least. I actually believe it is because in the 6th grade I was swinging on the swing set and I looked back in the woods and there was a guy walking in the woods. I looked away for a second and when I turned back he was gone. So yeah, I believe its true. But, in Pa I can say were filled with ghosts everywhere else. >>'

Supposedly the old cinema is haunted. I've been wanting to go see a movie there. The architect is simply lovely~
There's also a haunted restaurant that has been torn down...would be interesting to build a house over it XD
I live in Oregon, so there's loads of places nearby that are supposedly haunted. I have a book on it, and am going to try and convince my friends to go down to one of the places during Halloween XP

Siliphia There's this one place in my town that is rumored to be haunted. It's the old elementary school. When I was kid they held club meetings and activities (such as Safety Town) there, but you weren't allowed to go upstairs. Now the building is shut down because it's "unsafe" and "about to collapse on itself". Me and my friends walk around the school a lot because we go bikeriding down there and there's a playground and stuff. There's this one light on the very top floor that is always turned on and many of the windows are unlocked. The school is extremely cold on the inside (we opened a window and were hit with a wave of cold air) which me and my friends decided was due to air conditioning - even though the school district doesn't air condition the buildings that are actually used. If you look through the windows there are scratch marks on all the walls, old newspapers lying everywhere, huge metal counters knocked over, abandoned mop buckets, rotting food, mountains of broken computer keyboards, and all sorts of other creepy stuff. We think this building is haunted because when you walk around it you can feel a presence, and Jeffrey Dahmer (a cannibalistic serial killer) went there when he was a kid. You must be from Bath, Ohio! I'm from Cuyahoga Falls! Bath was where Jeffery Dahmer was from according to my mom. She told me that he would lure boys his age into his house, kill them, violate them, and them stuff them in his freezer. He was soon discovered and went to jail, where I heard he got killed.
