As promised, Ignacio fell into step beside his friend. "It's not that bad," he whispered. "At least he's letting you move. I mean, he could've made you sit and that really would've sucked."
Delilah glanced over at Antony and her eyebrows raised in clear surprise. "No," she answered after a moment. "You're here. He's safe."

Antony thought about that for a moment, wondering how he could possibly control his father if he went out of control. It wasn't possible. He knew that much from the sparring practice Shade had put him through. But at the same time-- "Father never gets mad," he said with a sweet smile. "Except when his cartoons are interrupted. Then he might yell at the TV for a bit." Which was, sadly to say, true.
Shade leaned back, watching the kids run and keeping an eye on Riley. She didn't seem in pain, though, which was good.

"Yeah, I guess," Riley agreed reluctantly, "Though I like running best...him making me go slow is...mmph." She stopped, obviously not wanting to keep on the subject. At least she was moving. Her brothers had been attempting to keep her bound to the apartment building. This was at least...a small, very small, tiny bit better. She gave Iggy a sidelong glance, "You know, you could run faster if ya want. You could see how many times you can pass us slow-pokes."

"Nah, you might trip me." Jogging easily beside her, Ignacio reached up and back to lace his hands behind his head again. He gazed innocently ahead at the pair running in front of them. "Anyway, don't wanna interrupt Antony and his, I dunno, is she his sister or friend or something?"
Delilah considered the image of Shade yelling at cartoons and the corner of her mouth quirked upwards. "Well," she finally said. Then, carefully, she asked, "Do you like cartoons?"

"Some," Antony said easily. "But not the violent ones. I prefer the smart characters." Watching the BBC might be considered too strange for a kid his age, though, so he didn't mention it. "Do you?"

"I'm not going that slow," Riley scoffed. And even if she was, it was all Antony's fault anyway. If he'd just run faster then she could to. She only looked over her shoulder to see the other two kids when Iggy mentioned them. "His sis...? Nah, he doesn't have one...I think..." Not that she knew a whole lot about Antony at all really. He didn't talk to her much. Not like he was talking to that other girl. Odd. Whatever.

"Huh, okay." Ignacio dismissed the matter from his mind and turned his attention towards the ceiling. He trusted his feet to keep him out of trouble. "What're you doing after school?"
Delilah nodded agreeably. "Mama lets me watch things." She fell silent for a few seconds as if considering things. Then she smiled a bit, looking at him out the corner of her eyes. "I like the pretty Disney movies better."

"Be'n locked up like a prisoner is what," Riley grumbled. While that wasn't entirely true, her brothers were making her take part in more "tame" activities since her arm had been broken. Which, to her, was worse then the injury itself. "What about you?" She asked, looking at him like he was her last connection to the outside world.

"Dad brought home a PS2. Don't know why." It was as if a lightbulb went off above his head. Ignacio began bouncing a bit as he jogged and then, suddenly, sped up enough to get in front of his friend. He turned then and ran backwards, beaming at her. "Wanna come over and play something? It's not as good as being outside but it's not your place, at least."
Delilah nodded again; she appeared to be doing that a lot so perhaps it was soulmate material. "I like Sleeping Beauty," she offered.

Riley blinked her silver eyes, her grouchy face vanishing. And for a brief moment her expression was completely black. Then a grin broke across her lips and her eyes seemed to light up a little with excitement. "Really?! That would be so much fun!" And she hadn't been having a whole lot of fun since she broke her arm. Maybe today wasn't so bad after all.

Gym was the class Manny had been dreading all day. Ugly cotton outfits and sweating. It wasn't really her thing. Sure she liked running around, but this was different. So she had spent a good ten minutes hiding out in the locker room, hoping no one would come looking for her. The only reason she had come out now was that she had heard someone come in and she wasn't going to chance getting in trouble. Seeing that the teacher was indeed Antony's father, she was slightly comforted, but that lasted only momentarily before she realized she was the only one not running. Crud. Clad in her dull grey shorts and tshirt, which to her mind made her look scrawny, she fell in with the group, running just fast enough to catch up to Delilah and Antony.

For a moment Shade disappeared into the supplies room, then he came back with a blown up beach ball. When he got to the middle of the gym he lifted his whistle to his lips and let out a sharp sound.
"Okay, guys, that's enough running. And I know I said dodgeball, but I couldn't find the right balls. So we're going to have a volleyball game." Then he pulled out a second, deflated beachball from his pocket. "I got a ton of these things."

Delilah drew to a halt, looking non-plussed. "Volleyball?" she repeated. She looked at Antony as if he would explain things. Spotting Manuela over his shoulder, though, put the game out of her mind and she waved. "Manuela!"
