Yue flinched, and couldn't help but look up to see just how mad Sen was. How was she so mad? He didn't think he did anything wrong, but obviously the colour of his coat had set her off. It was something he had no control over, but no matter what he did, it wasn't good enough for her.
Anger started to filter through his patience, though he did his best to quiet it. Getting in a huge fight now wouldn't be good, especially since he didn't see anyone else right near them....and Yue wasn't the best fighter anyway.
"Do you really...mean that?" Even with his pause, his words were a little stronger then before, almost defiant. He wanted to tell Sen how he felt, but didn't want to get beat up over it either. Stupid sister.

Sen looked rather blank all of the sudden. Not sorry, but not nesscarily angry anymore. When she had an expression again, it was more of a thoughtful sort of aggravation than just sheer rage.
"No," she answered finally. After watching her elephant friend die, she could honestly say she didn't wish it on anyone, and no way he'd live if he did fall from that high.

Yue's stomache fluttered when he saw Sen's lack of firey reply, and it worried him. He was so used to being Sen's little punching back that he was worried he did something really bad. He looked worried until she spoke. Well....maybe it was okay?
"I'm...I'm sorry I made you say that, Sen," he chirped. "I'm sorry I mentioned my coat, but the stares get kinda old..." he almost added a 'you know', but he realized that Sen might not know, and he didn't want to add fuel to the dimming fire. Anything but that.

The only thing that made her madder than Yue was Yue being so... Yue-ish. Only an idiot like him would be sorry after she'd told him to go fall off the side of a mountain. Psh.
"Whatever. What's your problem with having attention? You always seemed like you wanted it to me."
And, write it in the history books, folks, as Sen was actually bothering to question her sibling instead of just entirely assuming.

Yue squeaked at his sister, a bit offended. Well! Something else that he didn't like about her, but would forgive her for anyway. He shot a little glare at her, though, something he rarely did; at least she aske dhim for her opinion this time.
"No," was all he said at first, debating whether to add onto it. He didn't want to seem whiney, though. "It was okay at first, but I only got talked to 'cause of my coat colour. No one cared about me." He said the last word with a little vemon, bitterness swelling up in him.

"And you're just now getting sick of it," Sen wasted no time in pointing out. To be honest, she would have felt some pity for him if it wasn't for that line. I was fine with it at first, he was saying. Spoiled. Hmph. "Maybe if you were sick of it from the beginning, people would care now."

Yue huffed, mad at his sister. He was loosing his patience, and that frustration was spilling over. Spilling over enough that he couldn't keep his real thoughts hidden, and blurted out the first thing that came to his mind.
"Yeah, well, jealousy doesn't look good on you either!" He stuck his tongue out at her with a humph, crouching down and tensing up his leg muscles just in case she wanted to fight. Yue was not going to fight his sister, and would endure any teasing like he already had from her.

And a mere matter of weeks ago, Sen would have thrown a fit, probably even attacked him. Not so much now. The here-and-now Sen just snorted at him.
"I'm not jealous," she stated firmly. "I don't care about this family anymore." Except Ai, she added mentally, and wouldn't have even done that had she known what was in store when it came to her brother. As far as the rest, she meant that. Especially their parents.
Where were Mom and Dad when she needed them? When she was so upset about the elephant, a friend, dying? She hadn't been able to find them anymore, and dealing with it on her own had left emotional scars. A lot of them.

Yue's heart skipped a beat as he couldn't believe what Sen said. She said mean things, and he normally brushed them off as her not meaning them but...she didn't care about them? About their parents, their other brothers and sisters? Or even he himself, Yue?
He blinked, not knowing what to say for a moment. The awkward silence was heavy, and it drove Yue nuts. He finally opened his mouth to say something, thought it was weak and quiet. "You really mean that, don't you?" He dared to glance back up at her, his eyes a bit glossy with wetness, but no tears anywhere on his face.

There was a sharp pain in her chest .Sen felt like she'd suddenly eaten one of those sharp bones from the graveyard. It didn't keep her from saying such terrible things.
"I mean it," his sister confirmed, eyeing him in an unusual way. Not that the expression was one of particular oddity, but she'd just never looked at him that way. "If you were smart, you wouldn't either. It's because your gold. If you weren't, they wouldn't pay attention to you, either."
The juvenile stepped back, indicating she'd be leaving soon. "I'm going to Ai's." And, somehow, it sounded like an open invitation and a goodbye at the same time.

The mention of their older brother shook him awake, and he managed to squeak out a reply. "Oh...." he started, looking away as he pulled himself up back on his paws, wanting to bolt off. "Have fun."
His words dropped off as he gather up his wits and ran off towards the caves, hoping to find a place to sit by himself and think about the things that Sen said. He would think about them deeply, as she said a few things that he didn't think he would have the heart to forgive and forget. What was happening to their family?
