He knew better than to move since he knew what Savvy was capable of. Holding up his hands and making sure his eyes were closed since the very last thing he wanted to see was his little sister's naked body, he coughed. "I don't really have time for this...Lady Silverfeather D'vinn. There's a bit of a family emergency and I just came to notify Shyrae." He waited a moment and then threw up a barrier around himself to nullify her little tendril or at least move it outside of his immediate vicinity. "I didn't mean to startle you." Everyone knew how much she hated water.
Shy paused in her motions of slipping her clothes on and frowned. "Family emergency? Sav, let him go. He's not looking and he didn't mean to startle you. Just didn't realize that I was where I was or he'd never have done it. Trust me."
"You know Brishana? Well, she's changing her name now. Something easier for the men to remember." Nodding on that score and then peeking out from behind the fern at Gem. "Well..." He didn't really have a good response to that one. "He's a big boy and should know better. I'm a little one and don't?" Said hopefully of course and he was protective of women. "So you, big boy! Get outta here." Back to Gem and he smiled in an innocently perverted way. "Cyvalor. What's yours?"

Caden eyes snapped open when there was a sudden large noise, like something being whipped. Then there was a yell of sorts, the bathhouses were pretty close so he noticed the voice belonged to Shyrae. Quickly he grabbed a towel and got out before running to the girls bathhouse, though he did pause at the door, seemed whatever happened wasn't too dangerous but still..."Is everything alright in there?"

"If I can still pull my weight around here then what does it matter how I act?" Finger combing her hair into some kind of order as best she could at the moment with it being wet. She didn't understand why people accosted her over this. "He wouldn't know what do to with such words, why tell him so he can rationalize things to a logical brush off? I'm sure it's a girl thing, we tend to fall for our best friends. Sometimes they don't." Crossing her arms and letting her tail flick in her agitation. Everyone loved this conversation piece it seemed. "And he's not playing the boss. He is the boss. I'm his subordinate, just like Caden is both of ours. We're on a mission here, not a play date and I think we should all start remembering that."
Waving off magics, she crossed her arms and mumbled something that was probably rather vulgar under her breath. "Yet you always seem to have a knack for it around me." Turning away from him and shaking her head, trying to wring some water from her hair now. Hated water. Especially being splashed. "That is Kelligrin and he would probably sleep with you, give it a try Des." Agitation lacing her voice now. "I don't care if he looks, why would I care? Come on Kelligrin, what's the emergency?"
"Play in the brothel houses at a time did you Desi? Seems like you." Shaking her head lightly with an amused look...the elves didn't bother her too much. That one was always mean, but she was being much too amused by their new little friend anyway. To which the little one got another peel of laughter as he merely continued on with his excuses. Wrapping her towel around herself and tucking it securely she got out of the water and walked over to the little dragonling, fluffing his hair again. "Oh you're positively adorable Treasure, I just want to snatch you away on my ship." Shaking her head lightly even more so at that smile. Oh this little one had a mind that didn't know exactly what his words implied...made sense since he grew up in the brothel though. "That's a very wonderful name. I'm Captain Gem Neerem, and beleive me the pleasure is mine."
Of course Caden got dirty looks from the posted guards of sorts at the bath entrances. Well who wouldn't...he was an adult male who was practically naked and was at the entrance to the girl's bathhouse. Usually they didn't respond to noises from within the bathhouses...the women knew the trigger words and such and there were a few in there. A jerk of ones head clearly told him to back off before they got rough with him.

"I know a lot more than you give me credit for, Bell. and yes, it does matter. a moping woman, obviously love lorn, in a ship full of men who don't get to normally see a woman except when we pull into port. get the drift here?"
watching her a moment.
"That's the thing here. He's not 'the boss' on this ship. I am. he may be the overseer, but he knows nothing about the sands. this is my realm of expertise, and that makes me the boss. And I am well aware of this mission we're on. and how much it has already cost me in repairs."
Before walking over and leaning against a closer wall.
"and how do you know what he feels? If you know the secret to reading hearts, do let me know. that could be put to so many good uses. He's logically minded, you say. that doesn't mean he doesn't feel. a clam can hold a beautiful pearl. but you can't know if it does it you aren't willing to crack the shell."
pushing off the wall, and smirking lightly.
"I can tell you one fact, lass. something that I know to be true through years of seeing it. if you don't stop catering to his 'logical mind' and start trying to see if he feels for you as you for him, eventually your feelings are going to do one of two things. Die, or fester into resentful anger. Neither of which are things I'd recommend."
And he went back to his cabin, to pop open some rum and take to thinking. He had to get her and him closer. get them to a position where he'd make a deal to trade himself in Deacon's place...and the best way to do that was to get to Bell.
"Never thought Brish was hard to remember."
A glance at Gem, and a slight narrowing of eyes...before letting the other comments slide off her. she knew she was teasing. elves were just not her type. they usually didn't like things a little rough, which was her style.
"So, big family emergency. if it's big, then spit it out already."

He rolled his eyes at Savvy; she had taken an instant dislike to him for some reason. He supposed it had something to do with the events that had transpired after he'd returned to find her blind and older than she'd been when he left, but he was used to that. It was the nature of his job. No danger among these women and he was here for another purpose entirely. "Mom's in labor. The pains started earlier this morning but she didn't tell anybody. Dad sent me here to get you because she's refusing to have the kid until you are home." Shaking his head and glancing over the proclaimed 'Desi.' He'd seen dragons of her kind before on other planes but usually they were more animalistic than a hybrid. Interesting.
Slipping behind a privacy screen, she tugged on the rest of her clothes and started drying her hair. "What?" Oh this was not good. Her mother wanted all of her children by her side at times like these. And if she couldnt' have all of them then she wanted as many as she could get. Not to mention, someone had to be there for her father. "Okay. Give me a second and I'll come with you."
He preened at the compliment, well used to being told just how wonderful and pretty he was. His gold scales got him an awful lot of attention from the girls and the men seemed to like him as well. It was a nice life, really. He watched, disappointed, as the women began covering up. "I guess that means I really don't get to touch, huh?" He frowned at the other male and then the girl who were siblings. "Your mama didn't use the protection she was s'posed to, did she? Brishana did that one time but she didn't have the baby. I dunno why." Giving a grin to Gem. "Gem. That's a purty name. Sounds like a sparkling jewel like the girls wear sometimes. I like those and I like you."
Watching, lurking, and listening, she knew many things were running beneath the current of the conversation. Stepping on deck, she cleared her throat quietly and folded her hands on her stomach. "Deacon is a man and understands little of what the heart cries for, Jaebell. I do not agree with the way he treated you after your arrival back but you understand him far better than he understands you. And, understanding him, you suffer in silence." Shaking her head. "Would you like my help with that, Jaebell? I can do many things, with or without magic, if you would like me to. Rahsaveer could as well, speaking from a strictly male standpoint but I feel like Kaznec is more like me and Rahs more like you."

She didn't want to hear what he had to say, despite how her ears listened and gave her the words. He didn't understand how things were...and he possibly couldn't. "He is not your boss, but he is mine. He is who I listen to first as my commanding officer." Shaking her head lightly and keeping her eyes from looking to him too...subjects she didn't want to think on right now were all that were in her head; Kaznec and something more personal that she felt slipping from her. She had always thought she knew who she was...and now she wasn't so sure. Eyes sideglanced lightly watching him leave as she didn't say anything back...and her mind turned to other things that were more self centered.
But those thoughts were broken again by the former subject...even the Laerethe were at it. This is how it was, why couldn't they take that as an answer. Besides...dragons like her were probably better alone. Or at least what she was starting to believe 'dragons like her' were. "He had every right to reprimand me...I knew he would so it shouldn't surprise me. And he's right...all I'm doing is making myself a liability. This is a job and I need to start treating it like one." But of course who couldn't help be intrigued by such statements said by such beings? "Help me? There's no need..." She was just being hormonal or something, right? Because she couldn't get his scent out of his nose or something...it was all nature. Right?
Unfocusing minds stayed unfocused though. "You can help me with something else though...you all seem connected with life on the plane and what not. What are the survival chances of a rider's dragon egg in the desert?"
She blinked at that one. "Is it that time already?" Shaking her head and giving a sigh, grabbing her towel. "Well then...I guess you get to visit home then Shyrae, no more homesickness. Don't worry, I'll be fine and I'll try not to make too much of a puppet army."
Another laugh and she patted him between his horns. "Maybe later if you're really good okay?" Of course she was going to humor him, she was Gem. "Sometimes little one, they want to have babies but that's not somethign you need to be fussing over. And I like you too, so that's a good thing. Are you hungry?"

Caden looked at the guards and raised his hand and nodded in understanding, he wasn't going to rush in there but he was worried. Though since nothing was going on he turned and headed on back to his side of the bath house and went about cleaning himself. He couldn't believe how much sand hid in his hair. So after taking enough time to clean himself the guardian dried himself and got dressed, with that done he decided to head back to the ship, there was nothing for him there even with all the vendors and brothels.

Seeing as everyone had more or less disappeared off into the atoll as soon as they arrived, he was left contemplating his own position and what to do with the time it took for Deacon to repair the ship and for half the crew to meet up with Gem again. Having his belongings back from the old Gale Claw, he isolated himself in the crow's nest to read. It was a good distraction anyways. Facts were good, there was no gray area to guess on.
Soon though, he remembered the piece of paper Savryn had handed him a while ago. Hmm... schematics of a device that could track down the missing pieces of the orb. Intriguing! Had she made this herself? Elves, like so many beings from other planes, were fascinating. He spent the next hour or so scrutinizing the diagrams and scribbles on the paper, making sense of the device and what its potential was. Perhaps this would mean a sooner end to the mission than anticipated... Perhaps he would be able to get back in time...

Eilynne looked a little skeptical but merely shrugged. If Jae didn't want her help on Kaznec, then she wouldn't give it. "We are and we are not. Any egg in the desert must be tended to in order for it to survive. A dragon egg needs to be kept warm to keep it alive, warmth that usually comes from the mother dragon's underbelly. Provided the sun becomes hot enough to warm the sand to the proper temperature, it could survive until time to hatch. However, the air cools considerably at night and if the temperature drops too low, it won't survive much past a few days. A rider's egg might conceivably survive longer since they likely have already been introduced to lower temperatures and survived. I must ask, why are you compelled to find out?"
"I suppose I do." Squeezing the excess water out of her hair, she pulled it back and braided it quickly, then nodded to Kelligrin. "Are you coming?"
He shook his head. "She didn't ask for me, just you. Births aren't really my thing, you know. I always feel so helpless and silly just standing there. I'll be back soon enough. Besides, I've got work on this plane." He refrained from hugging her because he was soaking wet. "Just tell Mama I'll see her and the baby really soon."
He crossed his arms and pouted. "I gotta be good, too?" But he could be, especially if he'd get to touch. Almost none of the other girls let him touch but he thought they might be different. "Yes. I haven't had nothing to eat since supper and that was hours ago." Though he looked at her body a little suspiciously. "Were you hiding food? You ain't got not place to stick 'cept if'n it's in your you know."

Desdemona smirked lightly at the news and then got a bit of a longer look at the elf boy. work on this plane? what kind of work? which ment she got herself up out of the water, nevermind the clothes, and grabbed a hold of Kelligrin's arm in a gentle manner.
"Mind if I ask you exactly what manner of 'buisness' you have around here?"
before sparing a glance to the dragonling.
"think less about anatomy, and more about title. she's a ships captain."

"I'm just looking for answers. That's what you said isn't it? That one of the reasons I was here was to find answers? Well, I'm looking for them and some of that information can come from you, which is why I asked." And the facts were being stacked higher as she recalled older memories that floated in her head. "Avoiding things doesn't make them go away..."
Getting herself dried and dressed, she pulled her hair back still all glares and waves of agitation flitting off her person. "Tell your mom good luck for me. I'm heading back to the ship." Giving a smirk at Kelligrin though as Des decided to mess with him. "Good luck with that..." Giving a chuckle and starting off for her...no way was she staying around water without SHyrae...or more so Kelligrin...he'd move something and she'd end up falling and drowning. Back to the ship with her.
This kid was starting to make her side ache what with all the laughing he was inducing, trying to sober some she gave a dismissive wave to Des. "Oh let the dragonling be Desi, I think he's absolutly adorable." Rufflinf his hair again and taking a moment to dry and dress herself before motioning him to follow. "I'm not hiding food anywhere, we're going to go see my first mate and he's where food is. I'll get your cute self something nice to eat."

"I did and you are. Your answers lie in many places, Jaebelltiah and you know where those places are. It is up to you to ask the right questions. But you fear the answers you will receive. Fear of knowledge is a great hindrance and often leads to rash decisions that cause many problems. Do you have any other questions?"
He had a dagger out and at her throat the moment she touched him, fully ready to rend her head from her body. "You shouldn't grab strange men. Never know what they might do." Relaxing only enough so that the steel was no longer threatening to end her life, he shrugged. "I was contacted about some work on this plane. I need to meet with my employer and see what it entails but that's no concern of yours." Watching Savvy leave with a shake of his head, he nodded to his sister and watched as she activated the rune that would take her home.
"You're a ship's cap'n? But you cain't be. You're a lady." He wasn't sure if he believed her or not but he'd happily follow her for food. Giving a grin and then taking her hand and tugging her along. "You might hafta let him touch your nipples to get some decent food. That's what the other girls do."

"No...that's all...thank you." Shaking her head. "And I'm sorry for running off earlier, it did little to help anything and merely slowed us down." After all, she answered to the Laerethe too seeing as she had chosen people more or less to come on this journey for some reason. She was just letting them all down...
"Ladies can be Captains. Takes a special kind of girl." Pointing to the docks when they exited, letting him tug. "You see the green flag with white? That's mine." Oh he was going to kill her before the day was out, she swore as she had herself another bout of giggles. "Well dear I'm not like the other girls, I can get things I want of high quality with just a look." Tugging him back a moment and picking him up, carrying him the rest of the way and into the alehouse, easily spotting out Thobias. "Here safe and sound, you and I both. Is this the part where you tell me how stupid I was?" Before nodding to the little dragon. "Look what found us, can I keep him?" Much like a child herself for the humor value.
She had been watching them all...and comtemplating, sniffing at the air every now and then. A look up to the crow's nest, where she knew Kaznec was hiding away...she hadn't gotten and pets and the like from him in forever it seemed...because of that white. Which she didn't understand at all...how come the other one got more attention all of a sudden? Right now it seemed like she didn't even want anything to do with him. See, she was mean. Mind made up she gave a little hop up into the air and perched on the edge of the crow's nest, tilting her head at Kaznec who was reading something. "No leaving?"

Dagger didn't bother her, she'd been threatened with worse than that. like pistols. or cutlasses.
"I would hardly think grabbing a strange man who has come here for his sister who obviously knows me would be considered threatening."
a slight smirk.
"Not to mention, if I was dressed, I'd have already shot you."
before putting one hand on her hip, and letting the other brushing some water off her chest.
"Who is your employer? I know many shady two timing double crossers on these sands. maybe I can help with a location."

"Lack of blades, stunted growth, and a paler complexion. Not to mention a more bestial sense but a dragon would have to remain with them long enough for training for that to occur." Turning to walk away before she stopped. "I'm sorry, I was just answering the question in your mind."
He actually had to laugh at that one. Turning to her and quirking an eyebrow, he shook his head. "Look sweetheart, I get that you think you're all tough and big and bad and I respect that in a woman. But you couldn't kill me if you tried. And I don't advise you too, either. I'm a lot faster than I look." Warning given, he crossed his arms and then shrugged. "I tend not to work for double crossers. They aren't very good references." Because he killed them but she didn't need to know that.
"I'd love to but I don't believe in saying things just to say them. You know what you did and what consequences it could have reaped. All I'm going to say is you got Ice into a lot of trouble with Fire." He was so relieved to see her that he stood up and squeezed her tightly then realized what she was carrying. "Found you? No, you can't keep him. He has a mom, I'm sure, Gem." Chuckling softly and settling down. "How old are you little one?"
He glanced at the ship and his eyes widened. "I seen ones like them before! That's really yours?!" Oh, he was impressed now. She had good breasts and a nice ship. But that look thing sealed the deal. "If that's true you'd definitely make lots at home. If they paid all them girls for looks, we'd be so rich, we'd be using gold to wipe ourselves off with." Grinning and then frowning at the other pirate. "I'm not little. I'm eight and three quarters so there. Can I have that food now? She can get some with just a look, cain't ya Gems?"
