purplesweetii we only have THREE flutes omg!!one of them is sooo snobby sometimes i feel like slapping her,she gets sooo annoying!!buy im first chair yay!! i would tell you to rubb it in thir face but then that makes you snobby...so you should just be happy with first chair...did i say that its not nice to talk behind ppls backs...crap everyone has been doing that alot!

Flutey forum!! Well I'm a senior flute 3rd chair out of ten and band mommy to many others.
Any one know of a good slow piece to play that is semi-short? 1-2 minutes would be good. We have to start recording for clinic soon and I'm soo out of ideas.

Hey! I'm a 2nd chair/1st chair flutist (depends what year of my lessons you want to reference) but yeah, I was thrilled when I found out there was a band nerds guild.
Here's a question... has anyone else had the "And one time, at band camp..." joke pulled on them by a friend who thought it was funny?Because for the number of times I have had it done to me... next time someone does it I will throw my flute at them razz hehehe

Ah! Hello! I am a flutist of officially.. four years! Since sixth grade, actually XD. So that means I'm in the ninth grade ._. I am not in marching band XD but Concert of course! Though my teacher doesn't do chairs ^^;
As to the 'One time at band camp...' (since I originally started in MB) XD yes! We sometimes, the band nerds, say or do it for fun. Like our two favorites:
'This one time at band camp.. we watched American pie band camp-- Patrick then wanted to blow up a frog XD'
or
'This year at band camp-- our teacher turned on the hose and the brass did Baywatch XD'
But yep~ even so outside of it we get told the questions;;; I'm still told the jokes XD and I had to leave two weeks into the school year after band camp;;

Hell, a lot of the top floutists out there are men soooo....please drop them stereotypes please. We used to have a guy flute at our school last year. Then people that didn't even know him started rumors that he was gay and whatnot, so he quit. Our director was really pissed... First off, a lot of the gay guys I know a pretty awesome. Second, who cares if a guy can play the flute?! My band's also got two guys who play the clarinet and another that plays the oboe. And usually only girls play them in our school. No one says s**t to them, but when a guy plays the flute, here come the accusations! stare People suck... Yeah. People do suck. Theres this one guy I like, and his best friend told me that he used to play flute in like 5th grade, but he quit because people were making fun of him. If it weren't for those losers, I could be spending a lot more time with him. Some people need to be shoved in a bass drum and rolled down a hill. stare why not stick them in a room full of evil band directors (only the evil ones) and give them an insrtrument, tell them to play and let the Evil directors give them push ups b/c they arent tuned! no thats to harsh..OH WELL! Lol yeah. And so what if its harsh? They deserve it. And then after the band directors... then they get shoved in a bass drum and rolled down a hill. I've always wanted to do that, so it has to be in there xp

Yaay, something for flutists!!! blaugh I'm a Sophomore 5th chair flute in my symphonic band, not something to brag about but still...Yaay a flutie thing!! blaugh (I don't know, I'm hyper.)

I play flute too! OMG the flute is so much fun. though i love the piccolo more. but its the same just smaller. and some different fingerings. heart xd PS IM PRETTY HYPER RITE NOW SO DON'T MIND ME!!!! heart heart
