Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 18/18 Cp: 8/8 MHp: 18/18 [Weather Effect: High heat: 3/15][Alternate Time] With a determination to strike the target with a kunai this time the young academy student slowly drew his final kunai out of his ranged weapons pouch. He held it in his hand for a few minutes so that he could become familiar with its weight and and see it as an extension of his arm. He then moved into practicing his throwing motion so that his muscles would remember the motion and the weight of a kunai instinctively. When he was happy with the time allocated to practice Shiro let the kunai fly towards the wooden dummy that was located down range. Having put all of his dexterous ability behind the throw Shiro looked on with an immense hope as the kunai bore straight into the wooden dummy's head. "Boom, HEADSHOT!" he yelled out with excitement. He had finally put a kunai on target but not only that, he had also nailed the target in the face. With that throw he had earned himself another three points and brought his total up to twenty-five points. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. They're expected to aim for 31 total points. 1 - 5 = Miss 6 - 10 = Just hit (1 point) 11 - 15 = Stomach (2 points) 16 - 19 = Head (3 points) 20+ = Heart (5 points) Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged (1) = 17 Head hit Training: 25/31 points

Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 18/18 Cp: 8/8 MHp: 18/18 [Weather Effect: High heat: 4/15][Alternate Time] Now out of kunai and only six points away from his goal it was time to switch back to shuriken and finish the training lesson. Shiro pulled out a shuriken and was about to throw when he stopped. Something felt strange, it just felt far too light. Practicing for so long with the kunai must have thrown off his sense of weight for the shuriken. Due to his normal rhythm being thrown off Shiro had to stop and go back through his preliminary practice steps for the shuriken throwing. First he held it in his hand to get a feel for the weight, then he practiced his throwing motion and for the last step he took aim. Despite his practice the throw was still off and the shuriken barely hit the target. It definitely wasn't what the young boy was looking for but the hit still earned him a point bringing his total points up to twenty-six and it also meant that one solid heart zone hit would bring him up to the required thirty-one points. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. They're expected to aim for 31 total points. 1 - 5 = Miss 6 - 10 = Just hit (1 point) 11 - 15 = Stomach (2 points) 16 - 19 = Head (3 points) 20+ = Heart (5 points) Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged (1) = 9 just hit Training: 26/31 points

Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 18/18 Cp: 8/8 MHp: 18/18 [Weather Effect: High heat: 5/15][Alternate Time] With a strong desire to finish the training quickly and get out of the heat Shiro reached into his weapons pouch and pulled out another shuriken. I only need one solid heart hit and then I can declare this training as done. he thought as he readied the shuriken. The boy practiced his throwing motion for little bit before he stopped and took aim on the target. With his sights set on the target's heart Shiro let the shuriken fly. Despite his best efforts the shuriken deviated off course and hit below the heart in the stomach zone. With this being the boy's first hit to the stomach area he had to actually stop and look up what the point value for that hit was. Okay, so the stomach are is worth, two points... well that's not quite what I was hoping for. he thought dismally as he discovered the point value. Despite his lack of enthusiasm for the hit, two points did bring him up to twenty-eight points and it meant that he only needed three points to reach the target number for the training lesson. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. They're expected to aim for 31 total points. 1 - 5 = Miss 6 - 10 = Just hit (1 point) 11 - 15 = Stomach (2 points) 16 - 19 = Head (3 points) 20+ = Heart (5 points) Formula: 1d20 + Attack Ranged (1) = 13 Stomach hit Training: 28/31 points

Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 18/18 Cp: 8/8 MHp: 18/18 [Weather Effect: High heat: 6/15][Alternate Time] Shiro was so close to victory that he could almost taste it. In fact it kind of tasted like metal... which of course was because while his mind was lost in Chibi Shiro world his body was actually licking a shuriken which was really disgusting when you think about it. When Shiro snapped out of it he started spitting immediately to try and get the taste of metal out of his mouth. When he was finished spitting he got himself back into a training state of mind. Okay all I need is a head shot and I'm done here. he thought as he took aim at the wooden dummy. Now in a rush to finish up his training and move on to something else Shiro eagerly threw his shuriken at the wooden dummy. However, as the saying haste make's waste goes, his haphazardly thrown shuriken barely hit the target at all. Eh? I'm going to be here forever if this keeps up! he whined to himself. The hit was still worth one point though and that meant that he was now up twenty-nine of thirty-one points. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 18/18 Cp: 8/8 MHp: 18/18 [Weather Effect: High heat: 7/15][Alternate Time] Only two points away from his target goal Shiro was completely serious about the task in front of him. He reach down and pulled up what he hoped, no what was going to be the final shuriken used in this training lesson. He held it his hand for a moment with complete silence as if he was trying to tell the shuriken what he wanted from it. From there he closed his eyes and breathed deep for a moment. Now was the time to end it. Upon opening his eyes he rapidly took aim and let his muscles work on reflex as he threw the shuriken without thinking. The shuriken didn't hit the head, or the heart but it did hit the only place that really mattered at the current moment. From his throwing position Shiro could see that the shuriken had impacted dead center in the stomach zone. With his throw worth two points Shiro had just finished the training with exactly thirty-one of thirty-one points. With the training lesson now complete he had nothing left to do except for the collection of his things. After collecting all of the kunai and shuriken Shiro rolled up the Academy Scroll and then left the training area. [end alternate time] Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 1/15][Alternate Time] Shiro had already completed this academy lesson once already but he hadn't exactly been satisfied with the results. His throws had been largely inconsistent and he knew that he needed more practice before he could effectively use kunai and shuriken in the field. Since had done well with the Shuriken least time the young academy student decided that he needed to practice with kunai first this time around. He held the weapon in his hand and became familiar with its weight. Unlike the shuriken which he had become accustomed to, kunai still felt foreign when the boy held them. After familiarizing himself with the weapon the boy readied himself to take aim and throw. By practicing his throwing motion before actually trying to hit the target Shiro thought that he could ingrain the muscle movement required for his throw into his subconscious mind. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 2/15][Alternate Time] After letting the kunai fly Shiro looked up to watch it's trajectory. He was quickly disappointed as the weapon almost hit the stomach area by was just shy of that target zone. It wasn't a good shot but he had actually hit the target unlike his previous attempts during his earlier target practice session. With nothing to do except to continue his training Shiro pulled out another kunai from his weapons pouch. This time I'm going to actually get some points with my throw, he told himself as he gripped the kunai and got a feel for it's weight. After becoming satisfied with the kunai in his hand the young boy moved on to practicing his throwing movements again. The basics will make me a master... or at least that's what that one passage in Hagakure said. After becoming satisfied with the time that he allotted to practice Shiro moved on to the throw and let the kunai fly down range to his wooden dummy target. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 3/15][Alternate Time] Shiro watched with delight as his kunai flew down range and nailed the wooden dummy in the head. This was a dramatic improvement over his last training session. Hopefully with continued practice he could consistently hit a high value target zone such as the the head. With his recent success fueling a sense of accomplishment the young academy student pulled out his third and final kunai. Having thrown two kunai very recently the boy felt no need to get adjusted to weight of this kunai. He practiced his throwing motion for a few minutes just to ensure that he had the motion down. I know that I can do this right and I will do it right. he told himself. When he was certain that he had the motion down for the throwing of a kunai he let the weapon fly towards his target. Shiro hoped that his aim was true because he really wanted to complete this assignment in one round this time around. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 4/15][Alternate Time] The kunai whirred through the air as it spiraled like a drill towards the target. Shiro frowned as he mentally tracked it's trajectory and predicted where it was going to hit the wooden dummy. Damn it. I guess I'm a little bit rusty with these things still. he thought to himself as the kunai traveled the path that he had predicted. With a loud thunk it sunk its blade into the wooden dummy. Unfortunately the weapon had not hit a single target zone and was thus only worth one point as far as target values went. That hit brought his total point values up to five of the required thirty-one points. Right now his score was still quite low. With his kunai used up Shiro was now down to his six kunai if he wanted to finish the training in one round of throws. Based on the number of weapons that he had left one could calculate that the boy needed to achieve four heart hits and at least a stomach hit if he hoped to finish in his desired one round of throws. Shiro was no mathematician so he had no idea about this stringent requirement but he was going to go for it anyway. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 5/15][Alternate Time] The young academy student reached down into his ranged weapons pouch and pulled out his first shuriken. In the previous training he had done quite well with the shuriken compared to the kunai. The weight of the shuriken still felt quite familiar so there was no need to play with the weapon this time. Just like all of his other attempts the boy practiced his throwing motion before doing anything else. After finishing his practice motions Shiro went for the real thing. He gripped the weapon firmly but carefully as he avoided the razor sharp blades that extend from the middle of the weapon. In the blink of an eye the boy had thrown the shuriken at the wooden dummy. The shuriken created a high pitched whistling noise as it cartwheeled through the air towards the dummy at the end of of the field. With a solid thwack the shuriken's blades dug into the wood of the dummy. Shiro could tell that it wasn't a heart hit but had hit the dummy's stomach zone. That hit netted him two points and as calculated earlier that mean that needed four heart hits from hear to finish his training in one round of throws. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 6/15][Alternate Time] Despite being on track to finish the lesson in one round of throws the fact remained that Shiro was still fairly unskilled in the use of ranged weapons. The boy didn't know it but fate was already conspiring against the high goal that he had set for himself. With the future ahead of him unknown Shiro set out to throw his next shuirken. He slowly slid the metallic star out of his ranged weapons pouch as he eyed the target down range. This time I'm going to hit the heart zone! he resolved. With the shuriken still held firmly in his hand the boy took aim with his eyes focused on the heart of the wooden dummy. In the blink of an eye his arm had cocked back and flung the shuriken at the wooden. The throw was a complete and utter failure. The boy had put too much torque into his throw the metal star had spun straight into the ground about half way down the range. That throw had just cost him a one round victory. Clearly the boy still had a lot of practice days ahead of him. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 7/15][Alternate Time] Shiro was highly disappointed with his throw but he didn't stop to think about it for long since he still had his goal in mind. Now reaching his goal was mathematically impossible but the young boy was not concerned with things like math at the current moment. At this current moment he was solely focused on hitting the target and trying to complete the lesson in one round so things math the hot temperature of the mid-day sun was nowhere in sight for his mind's eye. Moving on with his lesson the boy pulled out his third shuriken from his ranged weapons bag. This time he took it a little bit slower as he firmly gripped the shuriken and practiced his throwing motion. When Shiro was satisfied with the length of time that he had allotted to practicing his throwing he went into attack mode. The boy let the shuriken fly and watched it as it sailed towards his target. This throw was much better than his previous throw but it was still not as good as some of his throws from the previous iteration of the training lesson. His shuriken collided with the stomach zone again and netted him another two points bringing his total up to nine of thirty-one. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 8/15][Alternate Time] In the boy's mind his throws were considerably less awesome than the previous iteration of his target practice lesson. In the previous lesson he had racked numerous head and heart shots where as this time he had yet to hit one of those. How ever any marksman will you tell that consistency is important because on you throw consistently you can fix your aim and move your shot group. Despite the low point value of his targets Shiro had been consistently landing in and around the stomach zone. Now past the halfway point for his shuriken the young academy student pulled out his fourth shuriken and held it firmly in his hand with determination as he stared down range at the wooden dummy target. He eyed the head and heart zone with envy as he took aim. Shiro sat there for what seemed like minutes as stared down his target with the shuriken held in throwing position. This time I'll do it for sure! he told himself as he let the shuriken fly. Despite his earnest will to succeed the shuriken went straight into the stomach zone again and only netted him two points. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice. Inechi Shironaegi Hp: 27/27 Cp: 15/15 MHp: 27/27 [High heat: 9/15][Alternate Time] With only two shuriken left in his possession dismal thoughts crept into his mind. The boy hadn't even reached the halfway point yet and he was almost out of ammunition for his throwing exorcise. Why do I suck so much today? I had at least passed the halfway point by now last time. The boy hesitantly held his fifth shuriken in his hand as he looked to the wooden dummy, now stuck like a pin cushion, who seemed to be starring back at him. This.. is... it! Seizing the moment for himself, with the shuriken firmly grasped in hand, Shiro hurled his weapon towards his target in an usually spontaneous manner. Had this been a real battle the boy would be now be dead. His haste had caused him to miss the target and in a real scenario his body would have been left exposed, after the throw, to the enemy. At least in this situation the stakes were far lower than a real battle but those days loomed on the horizon. At the current moment though he was still just a student and the thrill of battle was a distant hope; especially when the boy couldn't even hit a still target. His latest miss meant that he was still stuck at only ten points out of his required thirty one. Target Practice Description: Each student will be given a basic set of 6 shurikens and 3 kunai knives (or 15 senbon) and taken outside to the wooden dummies for target practice.
