"Lycear met Beloved Laricalu in the Sands, not City. Obsidian Brother did not take Kindly to how his Sister found Affections for the Ruby Scaled Dragon that had the Burdens of Survival of Others over Himself on his Shoulders." Sylin knew the story well and was quite fond of it. Loved a good story. "Could not bring Himself to let Son of Lycear suffer and Lose what was left of Beloved Laricalu by Killing the one who could Care for the Young one Best." More or less settling on Kaznec's shoulder. "They hold Brittle Truce. I would not Like for them to Meet again Either. Son of Lycear can Take care of himself Now." Fluttering a few shades again. "Lycear's Broken Horn comes not from Obsidian Brother." And that was as far as it was saying on that story unless more was pulled out of it in the right way. Syling remembered that one too...and didn't like it. First Lari had taken her last breaths as father and son lay close by, one barely alive and the other battle maimed. Saewelquin had shown up not too long after...
"Of course, Xeke. And thanks for the luck." Watching the dragon nod and then turn tail and take off again, her attention turned back to the ship, well as ever and safe. "The real Gale Claw. Fast as the wind and fierce as a wildcat." The vessel was smaller than its former counterpart and indeed had a fierce elegance to it with its details. Bust it was just fine to fit her crew and their loot...and a barb at Fang. He wouldn't keep her down, not Gem 'Jewel' Neerem. He father's ship had finally succumed to the end of her father had wanted, a death of blaze and glory that he himself never had. With a grin she ran her flag up the mast. Wouldn't Fang be in for a surprise. Now then...on to rigging and sails. She had time to make up.
"Except he doesn't handle his healing as such either. Duty bound objectives make us do perhaps odd things. Come along before we poke to more at the proverbial beast with a sharp stick." It didn’t take her long to get back once she got her baring straight, she could fly higher and faster without having to care for a passenger that would probably die from such things or lug cargo along and she knew Xeje could keep up in that seon way of his. Soon enough the alcove were the docked and steadily being repaired Chimera was. Dropping from the sky she landed on the sands and quickly changed, grabbing the bags that held her and Kaznec’s things before hopping to the air again and to the ship. Landing on the deck, she leaned back against the railing a moment to catch her breath and the like, the pain in her side reminding her of the injury there that was no longer guarded by scales, but she’d rather pretend that it wasn’t so it couldn’t slow her down. Pushing off the railing she walked to Kaznec, giving a look to Des, "Excuse me," bowing her head then to Kaznec much like the child she knew she was going to be scolded as. “Forgive me, but it was important to the overall mission.” She’d just appeal to his Guardian side as she held out his bag of things to him.

"So Areesa was wrong. I'm not the butthead. He is." But blipping quietly alongside the dragonness until they reached the ship again and it stayed by Jae's horns as Sylin seemed to have taken his spot by Kaz. And why were they talking about this again? They all knew better... Even Kaznec himself. And Xeke didn't like it anymore than his master did, after all it was his previous bond they were talking about.
"I just wonder if I asked him the same thing, he would agree with you." There seemed to be a bit of confusion about the broken horn issue but Sylin cleared that up soon enough. He didn't really like thinking about this anyways, much less talking about it. Regardless of how great his uncle sounded in the story, whether the Seon meant it that way or not, he was still wary and nothing was going to change that. Especially since he was away from home and if his uncle did try anything, he physically wouldn't be able to stop him and he knew it too. "His issues seem to lie with my father and he spared me apparently for the sake of my mother... Why he shows up now and is following us though, I don't know but I wouldn't underestimate him or his motives."
But suddenly there was Jae again, Xeke with her as anticipated. Done with the distraction at hand and no longer wanting to think on the subject except in his dreams, he turned his full attention onto Jae, glancing her over quietly for a moment. "Where is Captain Gem? Wasn't she with you?" He was concerned with the sudden decision the captain had made but sitting Jae down, he started removing blood-soaked bandages first. "Captain Deacon was speculating that she went to retrieve the Claw's figurehead because she has plans to reattach it to a hidden ship of some sort... Do you know if that's true?"

"Ice is back." Lapsing into Gem's nicknames for the dragons and then frowning as no Gem appeared beside her and no ship either. Well, that either locked in or destroyed Richards original hypothesis, didn't it? Walking over, he watched Kaznec begin to take care of Jae and waited for her answer. "Does she have another ship stashed away somewhere, Ice?" He couldn't believe it...not until he heard it from her or saw it with his own eyes. Gem would absolutely tell him something like that.

Des let everyone chat, and did what she used to do, just listen. you'd be surprised how much you learn if you just listen when people talk around you. but from what she was hearing about the black dragon, he certainly didn't seem the type to be charitable or friendly unless he had a reason. and she didn't think Kanzec was the reason. myabe she'd talk witht eh elves when they got back.
Hunter came out of his cabin, holding a spyglass in one hand, and smaller map in the others, before taking over for Richards.
"Alright, you've had plenty of rest. we're heading to the Atoll. so drop canvas, and get ready, all hands on board who are coming, the rest of you lot that want to stick around get off and out of the way."

"Perhaps he Seeks to Save the Young one again From Things Son of Lycear knows Nothing of." Sylin was apparently not for or against the other dragon, merely stating possible causes and the like that it could see logical. With blue light back though, it flutted in place and allowed Kaznec to move away from it before bobbing over to Xeke, making some purple to only their kind's words. "Does he not Ask of such Times often?" Something Sylin didn't really think on and thus never questioned on...besides it was a tad lazy when Lycear was immersed in daily work and since Xeke, it felt no need to keep tabs on Lycear's son too much.
Okay...first the care, then the whereabouts of the other captain, then she would get her lecture. Logical enough. No protesting from her as she let Kaznec tend to still healing wounds and they all asked questions of her all the while it seemed Deacon was making ready to leave. "We left together, but she told me to come back without her." A nod to Kaznec and Thobias both as they questioned on ships, "Apparently what we thought was the Gale Claw...wasn't the real Gale Claw. She'll meet us at the atoll that her and Hunter agreed on. I can't tell you where she'll come from though...not supposed to really."

"Or perhaps he has decided that Kaznec is of age and no longer needs Lycear's care. Thus, back to the original plan of vindictive action." Though this was all mentioned on the Seons' own frequency, of course. Kaz had enough on his mind and with that time of year approaching again, Sylin was only making things worse by talking about it and dragging in people whom the whole affair concerned. "When he was younger, even though they were mostly unanswerable questions. He's learned not to ask and be disappointed when answers don't come."
Pirates bustling around them, getting ready to start for the atoll, he occupied himself with changing her bandages and making sure all was secure with her person first. "So it is true then... She has another ship, on which she has placed the Gale Claw's figurehead for it to become the 'new' Gale Claw?" A glance to Thobias for perhaps confirmation or his say on the matter. He was Gem's first mate afterall, pirates seemed to have a hierarchy when it came to certain informations and things uttered. "It was dangerous for you two to go out without telling anyone. The Riders patrol these areas regularly apparently, and we still don't know how Fang is faring or what he's planning. My uncle went out to find you though... Did you see him?"

"Yes true. Son of Lycear is Grown now." It wasn't odd either that he was an adult but still living with his father either, dragon's in some cases were pack creatures and parents weren't too grueling on pushing them out of the nest so to speak. Sylin enjoyed it personally, since Kaznec sometimes portrayed his mother's mannerisms even if he didn't know it. Fun to watch. "If Lycear and Obsidian Brother were to Meet again...I fear neither would Hold Back and Dragon's would Rend Sky and Sand." A pause in it's bobbing lightly. "A bad Lesson to Learn. If one wants Knowledge...it must be Constantly Sought."
"Not become the new one, persay. Always was." Turning a look to Thobias, seeing as he seemed out of the loop as well. "Only her and her father knew, apparently." Shaking her head lightly and there was the starting of the lecturing. Though it didn't seem to go very far before his mind slipped to other things. Where was the lecturing about how she had done something stupid that endangered everyone and so on and so forth? "Gem made sense of it for just us to go though...I can blend in and cover the distance. Fang I believe is up and running...I could smell him and his, which means they must be back up...I didn't see your uncle though, but we doubled back so many times and stayed cloud covered...I'm not surprised."
It was a small matter to get Fang what he wanted, though he enlisted some nomads to make the delivery after handing over the goods, or scales rather. He had places to get back to and not too much leway for that...Fang had already caused him to miss his opportunity with the white, but he'd get at her soon enough...and tell her what was what. If she was stubborn...well fatal accidents could happen after all. Thusly he was headed back to where he left the Chimera, leisurely by this time seeing as he had no more reason to pursue at fast pace. "I suggest you get on a move fast as possible...Fang has reached the remants of the Gale Claw."

He wasn't quite sure how to feel. Gem did have another ship that she'd never told him about and she hadn't shared her current plans with him either. He wasn't upset with her about the ship, he was upset because she could have been killed or so much worse. "It doesn't matter. She should have let one of us go with her. We could handle Fang, Ice. Two women alone is his idea of a feast. That man is capable of things that even the Lady Silverfeather D'vinn would shudder at. He's not stable and if he were to find you..." Shaking his head. "Des, go tell Hunter we'll meet Gem at the atoll, then have a cabin boy notify the rest of her crew as to the plan."

"Grown. Though his maturity levels can be argued..." Xeke being Xeke again for the moment felt it necessary to point out the pessimistic things. "Again, not a good idea that he keeps following us or Kaznec then. A reconstructed bond is potentially harmful in the future."
Right, so Captain Gem's ship hadn't really been her ship at all thus she wasn't going to attempt to salvage the mock ship, merely retrieved the hidden one for present use. That made enough sense, didn't it? Seemingly Thobias wasn't pleased with the methods she'd taken though, which he agreed on because Jae was involved. "Cloud cover shifts all the time, especially since there is a breeze on the horizon today. You could have been compromised and the crucial thing is, none of us would have know where you were or what had happened until it was too late. You're still hurt, shifting forms didn't help and you could have been intercepted by Fang or the Riders." A brief glance up at his uncle though... Just in time.

"Thick Headed." Giving a single bob as if it didn't want to be stationary too long. "Harmful the Most to Whom. That is the Real question." Seemingly watching the two as one indeed took to his commander like tendencies with someone who was...well more than a common troop. "Keep close Watch on him. Many things may Change for him Soon."
"If he were to find us, there would be no mercy...I know. But still..." Yup they were both upset. Very upset. And there it was...and it had the exact effect she thought it would. Making her feel like a child as he reprimanded on the bad decision that she had made. "Sometimes we have to take risks...but I know that this isn't the time nor place for excuses, Commander."

"And what if cloud cover did shift long enough that Fang caught a glimpse of you and tracked you until you split with Gem? What if he's following her right now, just waiting for the time to strike? You both were so foolish..." Shaking his head and walking over to the railing, grabbing it. "She told you to leave her alone? With no one else on that ship...?" He just couldn't believe it. He was going to wring her neck when he saw her next, Captain or not. "Do you know for sure that Fang didn't see you? He's at the remants of the old Gale Claw now, probably preparing to burn it. Unless of course he found the prey he really wants..."

Oh, indeed not a good subject to think about. "Unanswerable, like many things. But in his case, what he doesn't know can't truly hurt him." Blue light mellowing out for a moment, characteristic perhaps of exasperation. "Many things have changed and out here, he no longer has the comforts of familiarities and rituals. I just hope his clouded mind doesn't compromise his judgments even more."
Yes, Commander side all out now and waiting to be appeased. It helped that Thobias stood by his own arguments and consolidated his logic. "If he's following the Claw now, we will soon be in as much danger as her. We aren't ready for another battle so soon." The first mate was right, it had been foolish. Not to mention, distracting and he felt an odd tension in his neck even as he thought of it again. Turning to Jae then, still composed as ever but golden eyes betrayed his concern. "You aren't ready. I'm not going to let you go out on your own like that again, despite color camouflage arguments and such. The risk just isn't worth it."

"Already enroute, uncle black. thanks for your concern."
before looking at the cabin boy.
"Good. wil meet here there."
looking out over the crew on deck.
"Des, up in the nest with you! Richards, I want my sails full in thirty seconds! Kanzec, guard boy...Caden! help with rigging and get things cleared off my deck that got no buisness there! Bell, I got these charts, and get up here and help with navigation."
turning the wheel to get them on a path out of the alcove.
"You dogs get to work! I got double hands on this ship right now, I expect her to be moving at double time and be shining in the desert sun from the polish!"
Fang got his supplies alright, and was quickly putting them to use. heavier armoring around the area of his hull where he kept his munitions, using them as sail material, giving his sails a black scaled look which he liked aside from the usefulness that dragon's fire wasn't going to eat through them nearly so easy. Yes, he remembered where those dragons had struck first. the spares he put into the hull and along the masts for thier added defensive support.
"Now then. I want every atoll within fifty miles. they have to be going someplace to repair, and if that wench has another ship, she'll want to claim her crew from Deacon. They are not going to make it out of my sands before I get my hands on them. and this time, I'll break thier necks."

“This is a Test for Son of Lycear. Where he must Cast Off what he Knows to be the Best course of Action and learn to Rely on his Gut Reactions as well as Those around him who Act before they Think. Rituals and the like only last for so Long before they need Replacing or Revision.”
Yup she was in for it, but she knew that before she ever left the ship this morning and she knew that she was going to have to deal with the consequences…much as they hurt coming from some people. Eyes again turned to Thobias a moment. “But he’s not…I know he’s not. I kept an eye out and no one followed. To or back. And yes, she told me to go back…she didn’t want me gone longer than I had to be…” And in trouble. But it was happening anyway. She slid off the barrel she had been pushed to sit on and stood more or less at attention before him like she was supposed to when being addressed by your commanding officer. She wasn’t foolish enough to think that he wasn’t being his Commander self and that warranted the respect his title gave him. No matter who he was to her.
“I understand that, sir, and my intent was not to bring any type of battle back with me. If he had of gotten sight of me, I would not have come back anyway and lead him straight here, Commander.” Jaebelltiah tried her best to ignore what his eyes said that his voice didn’t, trying to keep her own eyes from his by staring at his shoulder. “Injured or not, sir, a Guardian is always to be ready even if we are not meant for field work.” Strategists didn’t get into the mid of frays after all. It was a different type of training. Nodding lightly, “Yes Commander. I won’t venture out without your consent first again. I apologize for my actions and will make any amends you wish of me.” It was all so cold and left a bitter taste in her mouth…speaking to him and addressing him as she often did Koto. Eyes averting a moment as Deacon called for her…but she didn’t move. Kaznec was in command here, not Hunter and she was under his disapproval until he dismissed her otherwise.
Oh this was just grand. That girl had dug herself her own hole and had fallen into it as well as started pulling sand in on herself. But what a telling tale too…he thought they had completed that little ritual…apparently not. Which was well and good then. Easy to tell what with the way they were now acting with each other and soon enough there would be no worries at all as scents and markings faded. Wonderful. “You’ll be out of Fang’s sands in a few hours time. I wish you luck. Kaznec, maybe we’ll see each other again sometime.” Giving a nod and turning, padding away from the ship as it took to the sands again, but he didn’t follow this time. After all, this was his territory and from what he’d been telling them all, he was watching them long as they were in it. Well they were about to leave it.

Personally, he felt Kaznec was well within his rights to scold Jae that way and he was fully intending to repeat the process when it came to Gem, in a watered down version of course. She was still his captain and there was only so much their familiarity would allow him to get away with. "Well, that's good to know. I'd hate to find Gem disemboweled on the sands, wouldn't you?"
Eilynne watched the couple and shook her head. They weren't being very cooperative with this whole thing, now were they? Kaznec had fallen back into the Commander position and Jaebelltiah was only enabling by reminding him of his position. Something was going to have to tilt things in her favor and she knew just what plan to initiate. She'd have to bide her time, however, these things simply couldn't be rushed.
