"Yes," Leyenda agreed. "And boots. Though for that, personally, I'd go see Artemis. You know what the leather is like in his shop."

"I would love to get a new pair of boots from them," Earendil grinned. "But I have to admit, the ones I got from them the last time are still in the same condition as when I got them, so I don't need a new pair at all."

"On the other hand," Earendil pointed out, "she's older now, so theoretically you should be able to reason with her and convince her to wear them - even unwillingly. Though I do admit, I can't see how she could easily wear pants with all those tails of hers."

He chuckled softly.

"Exactly," Earendil agreed. "As long as she doesn't get cold."

Luk looked over at them. "Does it get cold in the castle?" he asked them. "At night or anything?"

He may have gained the immortality of his elven mother, but like his human father he could get sick, and had to watch his health.

Luk nodded. "And how long do you expect to stay here?" he asked. "I don't want to pressure you or anything, I'm just curious."

He was eager to meet his half-sister, after all!

"My uncles are working on rebuilding the city," Earendil explained. "When that is finished and the people are settled once more, then we will be leaving."

"I really don't know," Earendil admitted. "I guess we'll find out when we see just how much was completed while we were away. after all, we were gone for a quarter of the year, who knows how much they got done while we were away?"

"Hard to believe since you were only there for a week," Haldia quipped. "It is a long trip, even just to Amon Darthir. And the trip back to the Four Lands is so much longer."

She turned to Earendil. "Would you be willing to give me language lessons again?" she asked him. "We were making good progress before until I decided to return to Nauros, and then I lost most of it, I think."

"Sure," Earendil agreed readily. "Though for a while, I may not have much free time ... I'll have to check in with Aerin for the first while, and depending on how things went while we were gone, I may have to work closely with her for a while."

"I can help, too," Celeb put in, not wanting to be left out.

Haldia laughed at the look on Celeb's face. "Yes, yes, you can help to teach me as well," she agreed, amused. "I am sure that the more teachers I have, the easier it will be for me to learn."

Luk chuckled softly at Haldia, but he smiled warmly at Lin. "Thank you," he said sincerely. "I would like very much to meet her. If she is the one who would know the most about my sister ..."

"Well, of all of us, you would know," Earendil reminded Lin. "The rest of us grew up in the Southland - with the exception of Kelirahc. But you have a story right there that you could tell - tell Luk about Arthael and Halmir before they got married. That story amuses me every time I hear it."

He grinned, his eyes sparkling.

Luk tilted his head slightly at Lin. "Do tell," he agreed. "I would love to hear."
