Once again the Nara found that after he released his chakra to conduct the jutsu, nothing happened. No explosion or bright flash of light that has happened on his first attempt happened. He was only met with the ridicule of silence at his own inability to properly do the technique. He tried his best to ignore the taunting tag by stretching his neck from side to side and slowly bringing his hands to rest by his sides again. It was almost as if he were in a battle against that explosive tag and that is was beating him somehow. Though he wasn't doing as well as he would have liked, he wasn't about to just give up. Especially since there was so little else to do in the village at the moment.

With a low sigh he reached back into his utility pouch and pulled out the Jibaku Fuda scroll for pointers he may have forgotten. It had been a couple of years after all. Even though he wouldn't have been able to recite the contents of the scroll word for word, he did find that nearly every line sounded completely familiar. Which did instill a small bit of confidence into him. The which he would need along with plenty of luck to learn the technique. Once he had read through what he believed to be enough of the scroll, the Nara placed it back into its home.

Rhaim then wiggled his fingers before bringing the hand seal back up and separating his feet for more of a balanced stance. With which he used to form his chakra to try and activate the exploding tag once again.

Apparently wanting to perform the technique correctly was enough to actually do so this time around. The chunks of bark and leaves that were sent flying danced before the boys eyes as he let out a sigh of relief. Without doing anything so hasty as smiling, he proceeded to wipe his forehead as if it were sweating from the tension. It was of course not. Though he was having a bit of difficulty with the jutsu, the amount of chakra that it called for was rather low and therefore not very demanding on himself. Which was a very good thing for him considering he really didn't need anything else to make learning it that difficult.

Though in thinking about it, the first time that he had attempted to learn the jutsu he had had to rest to regain his chakra before finishing it. And now he was at the point where he had full confidence in the fact that he would be able to finish the training and still have ample chakra. Regardless of whether or not he succeeded. With a satisfied nod of his head, Rhaim turned himself to face the last of his exploding tags. The Nara cleared his mind as best he possibly could while bringing his hands to the proper seal and forming his chakra for release.

The fact that the symbol did not glow came to no surprise to the Nara since he was well aware of the fact that he didn't actually release his chakra correctly. Try as he might, he was unable to stop thinking about how much pain he could have saved himself, as well as money if he had just understood not to destroy all of his tags in the first place. However he soon was able to compose himself by running his hands through his hair, briefly exposing his headband, and staring up through the trees. The lazy thought of taking a nap in the branches above him was certainly enough to settle himself back down.

While he was beyond the point of acting upon such urges he still enjoyed considering the possibilities of slacking off from time to time. As he brought his hands back down from his head he went straight into forming the hand seals and his chakra so that he could give the technique another go. He was actually now quite curious as to whether using the drawn symbol would actually work or not.

"Hmm"

Rhaim let out his audible amazement at the fact that it was indeed true that one could train for the jutsu without having the tags themselves. All they really needed were the principles behind the usage of the technique and the appropriate symbol. While that did all actually make sense to him, he was still rather fascinated by the discovery. In fact he was now more concerned with what this would lead to in future jutsu training than he was with the fact that he had finally learned a technique that had taken him over two years. His childish attention span was beginning to show itself once again.

With that in mind he gave a quick stretch of his shoulders without releasing his hands from the hand seal and began to form his chakra again. He figured that he did it enough times with just the symbol and no tags, he may get ideas for making other training more effective in the future. Though the loud explosions were kind of cool.

Just as he was releasing the chakra a voice struck the side of his head, more violent than the previous bursts. He stared down at the non-glowing symbol, signifying his failure, for a moment before acknowledging the voices owner.

Upon raising his head and lowering his left hand back down to his pocket he found the sight of the Inuzuka from earlier that day. While he couldn't remember her name, he did remember that he had spoken with her. With his right hand he removed the black cloth from his mouth so that his own speech wouldn't be muffled,

"Oh, hey again. Um, just training. I'm finally getting it. I think."

Rhaim blinked and thought for a moment as the girl prattled off about how bored she was and that if he wasn't interesting enough she would likely ditch him. Not that the latter course of action bothered him too much. It wouldn't be the first time that the Nara was left to his own devices. In all actuality he was still even waiting to be assigned to his new team. He shrugged his shoulders and pointed down to the scroll at his feet with his right hand,

"Jibaku Fuda. If you had asked ten minutes ago I would have said that I can't unless you've got tags. But I've since figured out that you don't need them."

Rhaim brought his left hand out of his pocket and squared himself up with the scroll on the ground. He formed the hand seals and began to build up his chakra as he spoke,

"You just kinda focus on that symbol in your head and like... uh... make it with your chakra? I mean, you make your chakra match it... I think."

Clearly at a loss for words the boy forced out his own chakra in an attempt to activate the symbol on the scroll. A successful demonstration would have been nice. Rhaim placed both hands back in his pockets and turned back to Aryza,

"Well it's hard to explain. You're trying to send a chakra signal to the symbol to activate it. Normally it would explode, but the scroll isn't the right material so it'll just glow. You can give it a go if you want. It makes more sense when you feel it. Kinda."

Rhaim could tell by the look of absolute confusion pasted on the girls face that nothing he had said made sense. Not that he could blame her given the fact that he still wasn't exactly certain if everyone felt chakra the same as he did. When she actually voiced her uncertainty he knelt down to retrieve his scroll. Her next question caught him a bit off guard. The Nara was fairly positive that once she found that she wasn't interested in what he was doing that she would go running off again.

He stood back up and walked over to Aryza, holding the Exploding Tag Activation jutsu scroll out to her,

"Well since I've got it mostly you can have this. Maybe after reading it later it'll make sense."

Though he hadn't planned solidly on what he had in mind for the day, his first instinct was to go research another jutsu to learn. Somehow that didn't seem like something that the Inuzuka would want to hear. A flashback to some flyers that he had seen in the village on the way out to the meadows came to his mind,

"Well I hear that the medical center is in need of medicinal herbs and poisons. We could sign up for a job getting those."

The teen watched as the girl took the scroll and promptly took up a rather light gait towards the hospital. He slowly scratched the back of his head and pulled the black cloth up over his mouth and nose again. The way that she kept asking him for answers reminded him of Tenma, but her overall demeanor was much more intrusive and extroverted. The Nara was simply reaffirmed that girls were indeed much harder to understand than boys.

With hands in pockets, Rhaim finally followed suit and walked behind the Inuzuka towards the hospital. As he made his way, he took note of the canine that currently was staying rather unnoticed.

'Perhaps that thing gives her so much energy...'
