The quake had no affect on the orcs and they quickly dispersed into groups of two. Four fell to his attack as the others regrouped in teams on either side. Now that it was known Lan was here a trap had been set up to counter his next attack on either group of orcs.

The tactics...they were so similar...almost to similar for Lan's own comfort. The Butcher of the Skies had used the same trick against his Silver Shields in the final fight. His left eye twitched at the thought of how many men he lost because the damn wench managed to trap him. As his blade fell out of the swing his entire body seemed to meld with the earth as it turned to a liquid under his feet. He was fighting for the earth, so the earth granted him strength. He appeared behind the group of orcs that would have been to his right. His blade was already swinging as he amerged from the earth. To ensure the full effect of his powerful swing his silver broadsword pulsed a bright white collor and a wave of seering hot light shot forth. The pulse of silver energy would travel several feet before slowly dieing out.

((The tactics thing was actually used against me in a dirrerent RP, so I hope you don't mind me knowing how to counter against it.))

((Honestly I'm an earth mage so the number of traps I can set are high but this is all to gather data so it's no biggie.))

As he cut into the orcs those across from him returned to loading cross bows and releasing quarrels. If Lan stepped forward to continue his attack the ground beneath the orcs and Lan would become like air dropping all into a ditch.

The silver beam sliced through the orcs, sending their tainted blood spewing in all dirrections. Lan roared loudly as he started to charge foward, but he had the ground yanked out from under him. Turning himself so he landed on his side the ground turned into liquid again as he fell INTO the ditch. He rose out of the ground behind the second group of orcs, clearly enraged. Snarling loudly he swung his sword the same way he had done earlier, the wave of seering hot light fireing out from the sword as it swung. He just wanted to admire the beauty of the gardens in peace!!

As the other group of orcs was cut down the two orcs holding torches flung them at opposite sides of the gardens. Thier job was to destroy the area. The last few died even as the fires started.

Lan's giant boot quelled the first fire before it had much of a chance to get started, but while he was distracted with the first torch the other managed to grow into a harsh blaze. Swinging his sword, broad side, he assulted the flames with powerful gusts of wind. He had to protect the gardens! He promised to protect this land!

The flames would at first be fanned by the winds but after a short time they would be smothered by the winds. A large burnt scar would appear where the fire had raged.

Lan's rage settled and his logical persona returned. Bowing his head in shame he muttered a small prayer for the pain that the Earthen Brother was forced to endure. The Breath of Life stirred gently as he raised his massive Ka'lana above his head. Bringing it down with enough force to slice a man in two he stopped the blade just short of touching the ground. A soft white light pulsated from the nearly impacted point of earth. As this soft light crept through the gardens it proceeded to repair the damage, and quell the crying earth, that the foul creatures had brought to the beautiful area. A sheen of sweat formed on Lan's brow long before he finished healing the garden. When the healing was done he gruffed loudly and apollogized to the earth for spilling blood on it's surface. Turning away from the battle field he makes his way out of the garden and into the darkness of the night.

~ small ripples run across the pond in the gardens. listening carefully, soft sobs of sorrow can be heard. Glancing across to the edge of the pond, Sai bent down on her knees, with her hands over her face, as tears streamed down her hands into the pond. her dress drapping down into the pond, as her hair covered her face*

*she glances up from her hands and shakes her head. she stands up in fury, clinching her fists, as her eyes narrow. her cheeks satined with flowing tears. her dress, dirty on the bottom and dripping wet form the edge that was in the pond. her head tilted forward, allowing her hair to cover her face. *

i'm tried of this....i hate being useless.. i need to kill something.. i need to strike fear in people again...i want my powers back.. being a mortal woman makes me insignifacant and inferior to them.....

*her voice shook with anger and desperation*

I will do anything to gain my powers back....

"Why would a creature as yourself wish for such a thing?"

Lan's voice came in solid and gruff as he marched towards the tiny woman who had been crying for quite some time. He had been watching her ever since she entered the gardens, but felt now would be the best time to react, now that she spoke of grave things. Standing at a staggering 13 feet tall, Lan had long platnum hair that tumbled past his shoulders and onto his back. Huge rippling muscles gave him the appearance of a monster, but soft eyes showed him to to careing. A massive, 6 foot, silver broad sword was strapped to his waist, but it didn't seem to hinder the giant's movement. Having been sat down a little ways away he heard a good deal more then he was suppose to. Since he remained so still his scent merged with that of the nature around him, and his aura wove in with the plants about the entire garden. He was hidden behind several brushes, and was sat down, but standing up revealed how massive the giant really was.

~Truinthil appeared in the gardens and looked around. He spotted then a rather tall man and was intrigued. Something about the man tickled his memory. Something told to him once. Or perhaps the original him from whom he had been created. Which ever way it had been, Truinthil moved fluidly towards the man, hardly making a sound as his feet moved over the dead leaves that littered the ground seeing as it was nearing winter.~

Lan didn't hear, feel, or see the man comeing...but the Breath of Life granted him knowledge that would remain unbeknowst to all others. The wind around Lan stirred and he turned acorddingly, until he was facing the location of his stalker. He had hoped to avoid any detection, but some things couldn't be helped, after all...he was a giant.

~Tilting his head at the unusual breeze that had passed through the gardens, Truinthil stopped.~

Hmm. Interesting. I do not claim to know what made you notice me, but very interesting. Already I find there is more to you than I had previously thought. Oh well. What might your name be? Your appearance is familiar to me.

Lan's voice was solid, gruff, and very low.

"My name is Lan Melgarenta IV. What name may I call you by?"

His massive hand rested easily on the prommel of his massive silver longsword. He really didn't mean to appear threatening, but often people would mistake this gesture as a threat, but in reality he just wanted to rest his arm. A soft shine of moonlight struck his eyes and caused them to shine a bright silver for just a flicker of a moment before returning to normal.
