Annalixa Quite so. Freshman year, "The Study of the Novel." You poor thing, you've read more than I have. We read a new book every week or so with that class, and once I realized how much of that tripe I'd have to read a night to keep up, I just gave up. But I didn't have to present anything on it, though--I got to do Virginia Wolff and Mrs. Dalloway, which I actually liked. Irony of ironies: Pamela was supposed to be, among other things, an instruction manual on how to write proper letters. WTF??!! Gah. We're doing it for a study on the evolution of the Hero through literature. It's the first part of the female heroism section. It makes me want to hide away with the buff Homeric heroes... I didn't finish it. I've got the presentation later. It's the same sort of structure with us. We've got a novel a week for the Hero, a book of poetry or a novel a week for Writing Ireland and two essays a week to read for Critical and Cultural Theory. I have no time at all for anything... I read on buses and after midnight. Music takes up most of my non-reading time. Argh. But Pamela was horrendous. I'm so glad I don't have to read any more.

Okay, for the first half, maybe, but as soon as she gets married off to the guy WHO TRIED TO RAPE HER, BY THE WAY it's just like she loses any and all will to enforce previously established ideas of virtue (lolz spoilerz). Yah, I'd rather be kicking a** and taking names with Homer, too. ninja I hope your presentation goes well, at least.

No, but I imagine unless you already have previous experience with either, it could be quite dangerous. =/

You know, I really need to start writing rituals more than the uh...day of.
I'm starting the Anthesteria tonight (HMEPA has it starting last night, Hellenion today, so I'm cutting my loses and going for today, since I have no work tommorow. Three day festival, YAY) and it is one of the definitive Dionysian festivals.
I started researching a few days ago. I bought stuff today. I just finished writing.
Oi. And then I need to write up tommorows! and Saturdays!

Fiddlers Green Does anyone know how to perform Chiropracty or Acupressure on oneself? sweatdrop I don't think it can be done... there's too many points you need to hit on the back, so far as I know. I did learn something called "tapping" quite a few years back that was supposed to tape into the meridians using the points on your fingers. I can try to scare up some details, if you'd like.

I make one comment about some artist's intentions in an ED thread, and suddenly I'm the "art police." My avi's current outfit makes it all the better.

*pets Nuri* Good to know. I'll keep that in mind. Also, if you need my vast army of ninjas, I can send them. The minions aren't very good at weddings, but if you need someone killed in the planning process...

Dear New Witch, I'm having a sort of love affair with you. You are the Pop Paganism with a touch of Goth and sort of informational articles that I needed. I pick you up when I see something interesting (the one on Meditative/Trance Dance? Wonderful!)
I picked up your latest since "The Magic Of Fashion" actually seemed interesting, New Witch. And then I read it. You got a new columist. FANTASTIC.
It's Bonewits. Okay, he can be good. His stuff is interesting even when I don't agree with it. So what does he write? "LOVE YOUR ELDERS. LOVE ME!"
You lose, New Witch, lose.

My Grandfather has been in a hospice for the past year now. He's dying. I've known this for a year now. I went in to see him today. He couldn't speak, move and 90% of the time he hadn't the foggiest who I was. He won't last out the coming week. We share a birthday. April 8th is going to suck.
