Fang looked at them both.

"The Laerethe have returned. the Black Dragon has shards of this fragmented orb, that grant him unique power over objects. considering my recent acquaintance, the Claw or the Chimera are seeking these shards out under those things guidance. he is looking to cut them off. Imagine the kind of power a shard of such an object could hold."

a slight glance between them.

"woudl that be something to entice you to try to bring down the black dragon? Or do you fear that what you have become is not what you are meant to be, and are going to hide in the sand from those that gave you the methods to become Riders?"

"Good. So, any idea as to what you might actually want from out here? since you are so utterly dubious about the idea of returned vision? and I don't exactly know what you elves fancy when it comes to the kind of haul I can get. it's not like pretty gems and jewels are going to impress someone who can't see them."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 10:49 am

"Eggs." Raising an eyebrow then at Fang. "And you've come to such conclusions by what means? Reading a few scrawled notes? Didn't even know the orb was fractured. They must have dropped it." Giving a snarky laugh before shaking his head, "And what do we care? Why focus so much time and effort towards one dragon when we could stick to what we know and have many more. Besides we have our own dragons that are formidible," Nodding to Yikin in acknowleding fashion before narrowing his eyes and stadning up in that challenging fashion to Fang. "Insulting us is hardly the way to go about things. We can repair your ship and we can destroy it back to how you came in just as quickly and even you wouldn't make it out of here whole. Much as you may think you can. You of all people Fang, know it's the Riders who control the sands out here, not the pirates."

"There you go again first asking for answers to the proposed riddle you are given, and making assumptions that make me detest you all the more. Once again you knock me for my lack of sight when you do not even understand how I know the world around me. Even without my bird I know things even if I can't see them fully or at all." Shaking her head and crossing her arms. "It is these kinds of things that make us so confrontational, Captain Deacon."

"So it comes off as a whole?" Getting a nod back she approached the bow of the ship and checked out the figure head of the tiger leaped from the cyclone it turned into. Wouldn't take much effort to get it off. "I can handle this...could you do me a favor while you're in there and gran Kaznec and I's things...if they're still around."

"Can do Ice." She shook her head as she slipped passed boards and what not that were broken in half and ruined. Cargo and supplies were thrown and strewen about and a few scavengers were already moving over things. Walking about with pistol out and cocked just in case she found herself a suitble sack and took to throwing in it a few things. Brining two bags out she brushed her hair from her face. "We're going to take a few other things back with us." Heading back in to grab some more spoils that would at least keep her and her crew financially afloat and to fetch the dragons' things as well.

"From what I've seen. I saw a full grown dragon get inside my ship through a hole the size of a deck cannonball. then able to avoid an entire crew in my ship, and come up on deck in a neutral form. I'm seen my ship manipulated through a shard and a model, and the sands around it."

A small grin.

"The Riders may. you don't. I could handle this camp with little damage, take everything I need, and be on my way. by the time your mian camps learn about it, I'll be well out of thier range and if I'm not, there's no one to dispute anything I tell them. for example."

the gun Fang hand been discretely drawing aginst this person standing up in this challenging manner probably didn't notice, though his companion might have, got pressed against his gut.

"I could shoot you, and let you bleed to death with as much concern or care as you feel when disposing of trash. after all, you'd be dead in about five minutes, but since the bullet wouls shatter through your liver and your back, you'd either be too busy dealing with pain to do much, or paralyzed."

Glancing back at his ship, where several of her cannons on deck were already aimed and primed.

"They could finish the rest."

"We don't do well with riddles out here. we prefer to work in direct terms. I don't know your breed of elf, your not even from this plane of existance. and it's not knocking you for lack of sight. it simple statement that someone that can't see the sparkle of gems and gold probably wouldn't hold them in great worth, unless you simple want them to spend them to someone else."

leaning against the railing.

"Since most of our haul is gems, gold, things like chalices and such, I don't know the kind of things you might want. I don't have spell books or arcane texts, I got weapons, but nothing like your chain linked daggers. So I'm at a loss as to what I could offer you, in exchange for a device that could potentially land me some very valuable objects capable of rearranging the world around me."

He was easily jolted awake today because the dreams already had in weaving in and out of deep sleep. Eyes opening to display mildly slitted pupils, he stared for a moment at the man above him, body tense with instinctive defense mechanisms and at his words. Gone? Sure enough, the blanket lay across his legs... but no Jae. "They're not on the ship anywhere?" Getting up, he started moving through the hull, glancing into the galley as well, before proceeding topdeck. It was odd that Gem was gone but she couldn't have gone far without a ship. Jae, on the other hand, was still injured and shifting forms would make it worse. Looking back to Thobias, he frowned. "Have you asked any of the crew if they saw them? Especially the ones that were on early morning duty."

Yikin was less than amused. Crossing his arms and watching his companion be threatened, he shook his head. "It would be of no worth to us to get ahold of these shards, Fang. You forget one very important detail in all of this because all you can see is the power it might contain. They were gifted to Ilindal by the Laerethe and they will undoubtedly get it back. You might believe you are invincible because of your magic potions or anything else but next to this race, you are nothing more than a bug, and a bug easily crushed at that." Taking another bite of his meal, he laughed softly. "And as for you killing anyone, I don't think that would be a very good idea. It takes far less to notify our main camps than you might think."

Thobias looked abashed for a moment, his cheeks stained with his own oversight. "Well, no...I just realized they were gone and my first thought was to notify you. I guess I thought Jaebelltiah might have mentioned something to you...or something?" Shaking his head and standing up, then walking on deck and catching sight of Hunter. "Excuse me Lady Elf but Gem seems to have jumped ship. Deacon. Who was your man on watch this morning before the sun rose?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 3:54 pm

Hunter glanced over at Thobias.

"Des. they went to apparently get the figurehead off the Claw. the stubborn woman simply won't apparently think we can fix the Claw. So when they get back, just to be a smartass, we'll be going to get the Claw and tow it here. then we can head to that atoll of yours for supplies and such."

"Simple men you are."

putting his pistol back.

'that dragon has several shards apparently on his person. I don't see the Laerethe cutting him down or even trying to detain him. I think you overestimate them. everything has weaknesses. from the depths of the sands to the heights of the sky, all things obey some kind of achilles heel."

Except him.

"Point was is I can. and that idle insults don't make for idle threats."

"You think my breed of elf matters, and focus on nothing but that and what that means I could want. You're very narrow minded and if you expect me to give you answers you're wrong. Last time you tried to bargain you thought putting sharp objects to my gut was a good method. Objects of value...shoudl be exchanged with equal value." Turning eyes to the direction of the familiar yet foreign voice and gave a dismissive wave. "Yes I know, they left before dawn." Rolling her eyes then. "There you go being childish and unreasonable again. Why must you poke at the sleeping beast rather than letting it rest? If you're going to be so foolish, then give me a map and I'll be heading off. I won't have you dragging me back unneccesarily into the lion's lair."

"Your folly is in thinking we even care what they do. They don't bother us so they are not our concern. You're the one who's looking for more than his place should alot and remember, your threats mean nothing out here. What Ilindal does is up to Ilindal...they're no part of us and we no part of them. It can burn to the ground and be lost in the sands for all we care."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 7:11 pm

"Breed always matters. a elf that lives above the sands values things that a person below the sands might think it worthless. for example, a sand elf out here values food, clothing, and water more than anything. an elf from the underground caverns values salt, plants, and the fruits and produce that can only be gotten from the surface sun."

A smirk.

"you want to go on, feel free. but you aren't getting any of my maps to do so. But if you want to see what I can offer, fine, we can go below and you can see what's available. Unless you're willing to see about bartering for your sight."

Fang shook his head.

"You should care. the person that controls the shards controls the sands. everything from creating sandstorms, to destroying mountains. how would you like to be instantly caught in sandstorms just because someone doesn't like you. and I have no intention be being a Dragon's pet."

before going back up to his ship.

"Get them thier supplies. then we're going after the Claw. I want to burn her into ash, hopefully before they get to her."

"She didn't. She's still injured, she knows it's not safe to move around so much." But a glance between Savryn and Hunter, frowning. Gem being stubborn was one thing. Enlisting Jae to help in such folly as retrieving a physically useless object was another. Fang could have been in that area or pillaging from the Claw himself, they couldn't have known. Turning eyes to the horizon for a moment, he thought. "It's been two hours since dawn. We should head that way to intercept them in case something happened on the way or while they were there."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 8:37 pm

He really badly wanted to laugh. Fang still didn't get it but that was alright with him. He was just a power player, flashing his pretty information and expecting all the other children on the playground to gasp and ooh and aah. He'd seen it before and wasn't impressed. "He doesn't quite understand, does he? Perhaps his perusal of the records concerning the Laerethe will refresh his thoughts." Turning to his companion then, "You didn't realize the hidden volume to him, did you? The Elders would be most displeased."

"And Des didn't stop them why? Never mind, I'll ask her myself after I get that woman back on this ship." Kaznec offered the only viable solution and he nodded. "We'll take one of the longboats. Jaebelltiah couldn't carry her injured, could she?" Dragons could fly much faster than any longboat could travel and at that rate they could easily miss them. "Deacon. Get one of the longboats ready. We'll take a few of our crew just to balance out the work and whatnot."

"Mornin' everyone." Said Caden as he made his way to them, everyone seemed to be up now an besides he was use to being up early in the day. But when one's room is near by a bunch of pirates stuck in a room sleeping and snoring one may not get much sleep as they wanted. A blink as he looked back and forth between everyone, seemed that something was up. "What's going on? Something happened?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 9:03 pm

"Do you not listen? The Orb is something only concerned with Ilindal. We don't use it out here, and what creature would use shards to merely destroy what is in the sands, least they want to lord over a peopleless plane of sand and rock." Shaking his head at the other left and he turned his attention to Yikin. "Fang is a seeker of control. And of course I didn't...just like I know he checked our inventory numbers but thsoe weren't the final numbers either. Rule one of the sands...never trust a pirate."

"I presume then that you have never met an elf save for the ones on your plane. How very sad. Sounds like your elves here lack a nobility structure even. Pity." Crossing her arms. "Again, I'm not going to pick and choose between things you have so you may have your answers. Know your foes and acquaintances and you will prevail. You no longer have exclusive rights to this knowledge either...so I look forward to the bidding war." Pulling out a piece of paper and handing it folded to Kaznec, which it had written on it the details of her little compass. A look to Deacon, "Enjoy Captain." Thusly heading down to Shyrae, "I'm heading off ahead of the others," and back up to whistle for her horse and mount up. "And as I told you, what can a human do that an elf cannot for my sight. Humans, ever foolish."

"As do you Son of Lycear, but does that Stop you when you Feel that what is asked of you is Important to the Hearts of Others?" Bobbing lightly next to his cheek. "They did not leave Unseen. The Bronze, Pirate, Elf, and Obsidian Brother even. Sought to leave Feelings of You and the Trusted Pirate spared." Ah Sylin...always knowing things useful. Flaring again at Caden. "Uninformed Guardians?" Flicking as if disappointed. "Bodes Ill."

He of course was ever listening to them all. "I wouldn't go out there if I were you. More trouble than you'll bargain for. Riders start running their rambles in an hour or so."

"Are you ready to go? Laying in the sand, sitting by the carving that was surprisingly light and waiting for Gem who was making last minute decisions. Giving a sigh she stretched out foreclaws some and switched her tail lightly. There was something satisfying abotu being in natural form and feeling the sun warming your blood. Though a look to the slight outlines of red that was outlining a few strips of scales on her side. Too much moving. At least scales were like a pressure bandage.

A survery over the few gathered bags she had. "Yeah I think that's it. You'll have no problem with all of this will you? You look big enough." Getting a nod from the white dragon before walking over and hefting herself up on the head that was lowered for her to do so. "Let's grab things and go Ice...nothing more we can do here." Bracing herself as the dragon stood and gathered things in foreclaws before taking to the air and snagging what was left of her ship in back claws. "Let's make it fast, don't want trouble breathing down our necks."

A blink as red light was cast on his face and he nodded to the Seon. "The risk isn't worth the result. Captain Neerem had no reason to do that or to request Jae's help. We were going to salvage the Claw in the near future anyways." And it was so very distracting as suddenly his uncle was there offering advice and Thobias decided to order people around, then a piece of paper was handed to him as well. He slipped that into his belt for later and turned briefly to his uncle, not even bothering to ask why he was still around. More important issues at hand. "Even more reason to make sure they're back as soon as possible." A look to Thobias though. "Possible but not without consequences. If none of the longboats are gone, then Jae must have transformed and carried the captain out. Speed would be essential, they know that. Do that then, I'll lead by air."
PostPosted: Wed Feb 27, 2008 1:19 am

"She didn't stop them because she's in no condition too. she has a minor concussion, and you and I both know that telling gem no wouldn't have done it. so she opted to watch and tell me."

glancing between the she elf and kanzec...and narrowing his eyes lightly, before tending to other matters.

"I have a longboat ready to go. I had a feeling you'd want to do that. but like the black said, it's almost time for Riders to begin thier rounds out here. So if your going, go quickly and get back quickly."

Other than that, he went back into his cabin, thinking on things for the moment, while Mister Richards started the process of getting the ship patched up and repaired at least enough to be able to gether and salvage the Claw.

Fang could only guess at thier stupidity. But that was of no consequence to him. either way, for now he was dealing with that dragon, and on his way to destroy what was left of the Claw. burn it to ash and let the Sands take it.

"Would be a Waste to make the trip and Find nothing of Use. Time Gone, when Time is Most Important." Fluttering in a few shades a moment and moving up to 'rest' on Kaznec's closest horn. "Not safe for You to venture out either. Despite Her own Danger."

"What the little light ball is trying to say is that one salt colored dragon is easy to miss with the right blending skills. Adding in more to the mix, not to mention bright colors regardless of your form will make the danger greater." Now he had to damn care....his nephew was going to make stupid decisions because of the white. Lari had suffered for that same thing to Lycear. "You stay, I'll go...the Riders leave me be." Thusly getting himself up and shaking off sand some before he strated walking off at a leisurely pace. It may not prevent his nephew from continuing in this endeavour but it would hopefully at least keep Riders at bay should they send patrols out that way. If he didn't follow...well Sae had some words for that damn white.
