is it just me or is double tounguing really frustrating? razz
My flute squeaks when I double toungue high Ds and low Gs. bleh

double tounguing is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. What is frustration is triple tounguing. I didn't think it was possible but I manage to do it. By the way, our school just had our christmas concert. It was great and I was able to have a piccolo solo this year.

TwilightDemon double tounguing is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. What is frustration is triple tounguing. I didn't think it was possible but I manage to do it. By the way, our school just had our christmas concert. It was great and I was able to have a piccolo solo this year. i have to agree with you... double tounging is pretty easy.. but i really dont like triple tounging... i can never do it

I have trouble with double tounging because I wasn't even shown how to do it, or really know of its existence, until I had been playing for 2-3 years. Not playing any music that requires it doesn't help either :

I can do triple and used it a lot in high school but I stick mainly to doubling majority of the time.

I can do triple and used it a lot in high school but I stick mainly to doubling majority of the time. Today I have learned of the evil that is triple tounging. My band director showed me how to today and I think I've pretty much gotten it down. It's hard for me to do in four four though. Hope I can get it by this friday. Are most of you guys in college? That's awesome! is band much different? My friends have told me that marching band in college is amazingly hard. PS. Does anyone haave a link to the flute music for Orochimaru's fight song? I've been looking for it for weeks razz

This is probably a dumb question, but what exactly is double and triple tounging?
I probably do it, but I just don't know what it is....I don't have the greatest band director..lol.

Does anyone have any advice for when you have to play outside? My flute seems to not want to cooperate when I am outside, especially when it is moist.

flutes rule, at my school our concert band has only 6 flutes & our marching band has only 3 flutes & the other 3 are on picc, i wanted to play a picc crying

*absolutely random* I just started in this guild. X33 Yes, I play Flute. Our band director is horrible though.. I have no idea what double or triple tounging are..Any help?

I am not really the best flute player in my band, yet I practice almost a whole hour every night... So sad!! crying I sucked at the playing test today...
