The nurse's instructions to the pier had been an easy one. After heading down the stairs like she had said, passing by a door he could only imagine what horror was inside, he had quickly found his way to the pier, and got on a boat without a problem. Now arriving on the island, Jake stepped out of the boat, making his way into the forest. He had no idea what time it was, never bothering to learn how to read time based on the light's sky, but as long as there was enough light for him to see, he was fine with walking through the forest. 'I really hope I don't make any mistakes that'll hurt you again.' He thought to himself, staring at the sleeping form of his Rufflet inside of it's pokeball. He continued walking through the forest, his Rufflet's pokeball twiddling between his gloved fingers. No Pokemon had shown up to attack him yet, though he did see the occasional shuffling in the bushes and trees, which only pumped his excitement even more. He shook his head, continuing his walk. There was nothing he could do about it, it was the Pokemon's choice to jump out at him, chasing it would only be a wasted effort. 'Just keep on walking...' "Purrloin ...Purrrrrr"
He would hear it before he see it, a Purrloin walking through the forest. Her ears were up straight as though she was listening for sound, but considering that Jake wasn't being quiet at this moment ...it couldn't possible be listening too hard. As it steps lightly with it's tail swinging from right to left. This one wasn't of the normal purplish hue ....as she would finally reach her destination as she would stoop low and look underneath the tree itself.
It would seem that she was looking or was she hunting for something at that moment.

Jade watched as the Shieldon spoke to his pokemon. There was a change in the way that things looked. It had gone from normal talking to battle mode. At least, that's what he assumed. He glanced at the Zangoose knowing it would be at a disadvantage. Fine, it'd be easier to use someone else because Nyx would be at a disadvantage as well."Namiko, I choose you! Let's show the boys that you're a good battler as well." He tossed a pokeball and then sent it soaring towards the Shieldon. There was a bright red light and the Lapras landed directly in front of the Shieldon. She was huge compared to the rest of the group, towering over everyone. The water pokemon landed with a thud that sent a vibration through the earth. ["Well, well. Look what we have here, boys. Getting into trouble while I'm not around? Especially you, Kyo."] the Lapras remarked coolly, glancing at the Zangoose irritably. She had been the one that had led to the red and white pokemon's capture. Despite the odds, the battle had gone well for her. There was another pokemon that had been added to the group, she recognized the trickster from the rocky terrain as well. The group was getting bigger then expected. ["Looks like I'm to be your opponent.] she said, calmly. ["Don't expect me to go easy on you, young one.]Nyx looked to the Lapras and a smirk crossed the Umbreon's face. ["Pleased to meet you ma'am."] he retorted, sarcasm clear in his words as he put emphasis on the last word. ["I don't recall having much contact with you but it is a very high honor to meet you."] The Umbreon exchanged a triumphant look with the Zangoose. He had been beaten by a girl? That was priceless, indeed. The Zangoose resisted the urge to slash his claws through the nearest tree. The boy had interfered again. Did he think that Kyo wasn't strong enough to take this pokemon? It actually made him feel quite angry. On top of that, he knew that Nyx would never let him live this down. ["She's stronger then you think."] the normal pokemon muttered. He stepped back though to step beside of the Umbreon and watch the battle. Jade was pretty close as well. Jade saw that all three of his pokemon were chatting. Finally after much glares and words exchanged, Nyx and Kyo both had walked away to stand and watch from the sidelines. Namiko was always helpful in most situations. Despite the fact that she was the only girl on his team, she was definitely powerful and could pull her own weight. "Alright! You can do this Namiko!" he said, grinning happily.The Lapras glanced at the Shieldon and knew this would probably be interesting. However she couldn't hold back despite his young age. The young usually got into dangerous situations and despite their age still needed to find a way out of them. Learning through mistakes were important to learn in life to survive. She took a deep breath and then sent a blast of water towards the Shieldon. No time like the present for a young one to learn a lesson that would last a lifetime! "Purrloin...Purrrrrr"
'Was that a cat?' The brown haired boy stopped moving, trying to listen for the thing. Pat. Pat. It was pretty quiet, but he could hear what was probably the cat walking around. He glanced down at his Rufflet's pokeball, the said Pokemon that was inside, was now wide awake, after it's long nap from this morning. It had obviously heard the strange noise as well, and by the look at its eyes, it was eager to try to find it. Jake paused, scratching the back of his head in thought, still twiddling the Rufflet's pokeball between his forefingers. It was his chance to capture a Pokemon, but there was no way he could find the cat with how dark it was now. But on the otherhand, his Rufflet might be able to find the cat. I mean he had heard about hawks having good eyesight, even though they probably only hunted in the morning...
He was still a little reluctant about letting a small hawk-like Pokemon run around the forest, especially since it was his only protection, but he pressed the middle button of the pokeball until it grew large enough to fit his palms, before tossing the pokeball in the air. A white light shot out, forming at his feet, and Jake watched as the 1'08" Rufflet materialized. The bird stretched its wings out as it did, before turning to his Trainer. "Okay Jay, I need your eyes to help me find this cat, but keep your pace steady." The bird nodded its head jumping in excitement, it's feet scratching against the ground, before it faced the other direction, listening with its ears. Being a hawk, as well as a Pokemon, it's sense of hearing was better then a humans, meaning it didn't have any trouble listening to what he could guess was the cat his Trainer was looking for. Pecking at his Trainer's jeans, Jay headed off in a run, towards where he thought the sound was at, Jake running after him with a groan.
By the time he had realized he had probably gone a little too fast for his Trainer, Jay had already reached where the cat was and could see it a few feet away looking underneath a tree. He cocked his head to the side in curiosity at what the cat cold be looking for, before he was alarmed to the sound of footsteps. Jake would have said something about the bird forgetting what he nodded to, but had paused at the movement up ahead. He didn't have far-sighted vision, but he didn't need it to know that was obviously a cat. It was too dark to actually make out what Pokemon the cat actually was, but recalling the meow he had heard earlier it must have been a Purrloin, a Pokemon from his native region. And from the looks at how dark the shade of its fur was, it wasn't an ordinary one. "Ok Jay, I want you to go Peck it while it has it's back turned, don't kill it." The bird only nodded, and as it's beak grew the usual bright white, Jake wondered if it was actually listening like what happened previously, and watched as his Rufflet charged at the cat. The Purrloin's ears would flick at the sudden sound. She would jump backwards even as her claws came out, she wasn't some tame cat, she was wild as her dark coat ....seem to shimmer in the moonlight as she swipes even as the Rufflet struck. His surprise attack was meet with an attack, for their speed matched, which meant ....that both pokemon would strike. And the winner of that strike would defend next, while the loser ...well ...the loser hadn't gone all out ....it had reserved it's strength. Thus, the loser would be able to strike again.
Though as those claws would shred through feathers ...one thing was clear, it wasn't the Purrloin whom was the loser of that duel attack. Blood on her claws even as her tail would flick from one side to another.
Her eyes, not the normal green of her species but a purplish hue would seem to narrow as she struck. It had been food she had been searching for, and as she stood up straight after the attack she would smirk to herself at what she saw clinging to her bloody claws.
Feathers, which meant one thing ....lunch ...as she takes a good look at her opponent.

The Shieldon would ground both feet into the ground as he saw that his opponents have changed. A girl, he wanted to laugh they were sending in a girl to find him ...but then again, could he hurt her? A female was suppose to be cherished and held, not ground into the earth. Then again, why not?
The pokemon was trying to make up his mind even as the attack would hit up against him. His mind in a thousand places as he allowed that steel skin to be his one and only defense.

It had been a while since the Lapras had battled and the water that sprouted forth fell short of it's opponent. Irritated, she glanced at the Shieldon. If it decided to attack, she would push it back with her head. If worse came to worse, she'd turn around and let the enemy bounce off her hard shell on her back. Nyx watched in disbelief as the Lapras attack fell short. Then he turned to look at the Zangoose beside him. A chuckle escaped his maw and then a full blown laugh. This was the opponent that had destroyed him to a mere pet of a human? How pathetic. The dark trickster was now rolling on the ground laughing. Finally gasping for air, he stood back up and shook off his coat still chuckling. ["This is the great Lapras that you lost to? She looks sooo... tough right now."] he remarked, tauntingly a snicker escaping. Kyo looked furious, glaring at the Umbreon. At first he had tried ignoring him but as the low sounds became a full blow laugh, he had to resist slashing at the Umbreon. In fact, his claws slid out automatically. It wouldn't hurt the dark pokemon if he lashed out at him a couple times. A few cuts wouldn't kill the pokemon.... Revenge would be sweet, pay back sweeter then any berry. No, that wasn't right. As much as he didn't like being mocked or taunted, the Umbreon was still right. This Lapras was on that had defeated him. Her power would show soon, she just needed to use some muscles that hadn't been used in a while which meant she was rusty. In the end, the Umbreon wouldn't be laughing anymore when he saw how powerful she really was. His eyes would fall upon them, and their mocking as the Shieldon would declares quite clearly.
(You should treat a lady with respect youngster)
He would tell the Umbreon right before he lower his head and came charging forward at her. It was an case of do what I say and not as I do, for he was aiming his attack at her chest where neither her shell would be problem and if he timed it right her head wouldn't even be in the equation. Though if not, well, she did have other ways to knock him away as he thought of his attack a bit like groping her ....as his tail wags as his legs would kick dirt into the air with his full blown charge.
This was a show of the strength and ability of his kind .....as his steel like head would zero in own his target.

The Lapras saw the way that the attack was aimed. Pervert was the first thought that crossed her mind. His gaze was focused on her chest and females hated to be stared at there. Swinging her head backwards, she aimed to slam the pokemon back with her head. The swing was successful as he had come close before her head had made contact with him. Pushing him back, she shoved him back a good couple feet. The Lapras then glared at him, his words had contradicted his actions. This time she wouldn't fail. Taking another deep breath, she aimed to blast him away with a Water Gun attack! It was true she heard the taunting the Umbreon was making at the Zangoose. Truth was, she was a little rusty when it came to battling. But she'd prove to them all that she was no pushover.Nyx had finally gotten his laughter under control when the Shieldon spoke. There was a glare from the Lapras aimed at him, but he didn't care. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Well glares weren't even words so it didn't faze the dark pokemon at all. ["Youngster? You're younger then I am, kid. Don't put on airs you don't have."] he retorted calmly. The Umbreon took a seat, nudging off some stray dirt that was still on his coat. The Zangoose was surprised at the Shieldon's words. The pokemon was a lot younger then them. What was wrong with him? He seemed to have a personality disorder switching from a kid to an adult in a heartbeat. The Shieldon shouldn't really be saying anything, considering that he had charged at the Lapras chest. Shoved backwards, he would once more put his head in front of himself. Letting his steel body be it's own shield against he water that came at him ...he would make sure even if he got a mouth full of water his words would be heard as he called out to the Umbreon.
(Putting on airs, who is the one with a female battling for him? Coward)
He would say those words even as the water hit him ...full force, but it was a matter of the hardness of his hide that would decide whether or not it got through. It would seem that his frontal attack hadn't been more than slight problem since he had been only pushed away.

Namiko didn't like how this battle was going. She took a calming breath, and just focused for a couple seconds. Meditate a little bit and then think about the energy. Feeling it surge within her, the water gathered up. This time she felt more confident with her attack. It would be better, for sure! Eyes wide open, her maw burst open as a flow of powerful water sprayed from her maw. This was a little risky but she was hopeful that it would land this time! She was going for a counter attack with Water Gun!Nyx shrugged. He sat back on his haunches still not bothered at all by the Shieldon's words. ["Oh, it's not my fault. It's not my battle so why should I care? Blame Skippy here."] he remarked pointing his muzzle at the Zangoose. The Umbreon hadn't been challenged and so when insults were thrown at him, they slid off his pelt like the water that kept sliding off the pokemon's rock hard shell.The Zangoose really felt ashamed then. It was true, this was his battle. But he didn't choose his battles and yes he should've been fighting this one. If things got bad for Namiko, he would have no choice but to step in and protect her. The Zangoose continued to be rained down by the insults. They felt like claws scoring through his pelt, digging deeper and deeper. ((5-1+8-7)=5dmg So what phase can I attempt a capture?) It seemed like the Purrloin was the quickest this round, as Jake watched the cat jumped backwards to dodge Jay's attack, before quickly striking him with its claws. The said bird jumped back, clutching its injured limb in slight pain, sending glares at it's cat-like foe. He was going to make sure he got that cat back for that, and puffed out his wings after the pain subsided, showing his Trainer he was ready for another go. Jake paused eying at the Purrloin and how confident it looked. He had no doubt the cat could probably take Jay down if he wasn't careful with his strategy meaning he had to be careful of his actions if he wanted to capture it. And he definitely wanted this cat to be on his team. He couldn't quite think of the word, but the way it's coat just glimmer under the moon's light, brought up a hint in his mind about why the cat was different then other Purrloins. "Jay, try to use Peck once again, I'll make sure you won't get really hurt again." The bird nodded its head, repeating what it had done previously before, as it charged at the cat once again. (During your attack turn, you can throw as many pokeballs as you have during your attack turn, but once your pokemon attacks ....it is over and you can't attempt to throw any more pokeballs until the next attack phase.)
Her claws came away bloody as she would flick it to the side lightly as she saw her opponent come at her again. A one trick pony, she was going to teach him a few new tricks before this fight as over as she stood on her back paws. One foot would shift lightly in the dirt, as the grass was smooth over by the movement of her back paws ....she would give him a smile ....as her tail flicks out behind her and she would ready herself to repel this attack.
The incoming beak, she would press one paw against the side of his body ...as she shift her body so that the bird would be push past her harmlessly if she got this right. If she was wrong, her chest would be open for that strike ....as she makes the attempt to keep her ground but force her opponent past her without a hit.

(Not your fight ....interesting, pokemon without honor)
He would declares as the water hit against him, but it would be parted by his horn. He would start to charge forward then ....as the water parted on either side of him ...he was literally going to shut her mouth and stop that attack as he lunges at her with a tackle. His shoulder aimed at for the base of her throat ....as he tries to quite literally crush her throat, and make sure that there would be no more of those water gun attacks.
