Brayden glanced back momentarily, spotting the familair form of Kaze behind them, as Chloe and Sasha appeared. He gave them a momentary smile, before turning back to Lance. The Dragon master's earlier flippant comment had struck a nerve.
Now it was Brayden's turn to bristle, "I don't care how important your 'plans' are, nothing is worth the loss of life, despite whether they're grunts for a Team, normal people, or your enemy!" he challenged, eyes narrowing. "Life is one of the most valuable things we have, and no one has the right to take that from us, and that's not your decision to make!"
"That blade holds too much blood on it, and not just from those who have touched it, been cut by it, or been controlled by it. I've seen firsthand how it can ruin lives, and control the mind. Despite whatever precepts you have on it, that... monstrosity... is not worth having back in the world again!"
He knew that it was no use to challenge the Dragon master now, however, he could only hope that one day he'd have the strength to stop whatever it was he was planning...

Clearly amused, Lance stared Brayden down. "Brave lad," he commented, smirking, resting the blade on his shoulder.
"However, I'm aware of this blade's past. If I hadn't been, I would have never pursued such an item in the first place. As I said, sacrifices will be needed, however, who better to make such a decision?"
"You amuse me," he chuckled, as Kaya and Brayden stood down. "I'm sure you'll provide some entertainment in the future, but until then, I'll have to bid you farewell..." He turned, starting to mount the Dragonair, however, he paused, turning back to the group of trainers.
"Ah, and a little parting gift for you should be in order, correct?" he chuckled, lifting the blade, before slamming it down, tip-first into the bedrock. The blade made a musical note, that hummed along with the vibrations it caused, until the whole cavern was shaking.
"10 minutes..." Lance offered with another smirk, "That's all you have before this place goes up in smoke... or should I say lava?"
A rumble sounded through the cavern, as Heatran turned to regard the mountain, which, amazingly, wasn't heeding its bidding any longer. The lava legendary vanished into a pool of lava, trying to halt the eruption, however the volcano, apparently, had other plans...
Sheathing the blade gingerly in a pack on the Dragonair's side, Lance finally hopped easily onto the dragon's back, as the creature took off. A Hyper Beam of tremendous strength made short work of the volcano's cavern walls, further weakening the structure of the entire place. Lance made his escape easily, as the grunts, admins, and Team leaders scattered frantically, many screaming.

When Lance struck the blade to the ground, he remembered about the sword's powers and dashed over to Train, returning all of his Pokemon except for Saron, who he sent out. "Gather everyone together." he informed the dragon. "Drrrraaaaggggooooonnnn!" te Dragonair cried as he took off, gathering Nona, Henna and their Pokemon together and carrying the lot of them over to Kaya and Train. in the process, the orb on his neck began to glow brightly, conjuring a storm cloud in the cavern. A light rain began to fall, cooling the caverns walls and floors slightly.
Groudon followed suite behind Heatran, offering it's aid in stopping the imminent eruption, ending pulses of it's own power to help Heatran regain control.

A wisp of darkness drifted up from the gouge left in the rock by the blade, followed by another puff of what looked to be black smoke.
After a moment, the flow intensified, drifting lazily inches above the ground, as the rain pattered through the substance, temporarily filling with holes before it reshaped, only to be battered again by the drizzle.
The darkness gathered, almost delicately, before it exploded in a veritable column of shadow, rendering the very dimensions as the rift only expanded, continuing to grow until it covered an entire wall of the troubled volcano. Through the darkness, a figure flickered momentarily before vanishing, leaving the rift in dimensions.{{Can you tell Astral was tired/lazeh when this was painted? XD}}

Brayden swiftly recalled Caliga for convenience, and Gin'iro for safety for the fire type as the rain started up. Each raindrop felt like a burn to the boy, but Brayden grit his teeth and tuned out the pain, cursing once again his forced affinity with Vulpix.
As he was starting to feel slightly weakened and woozy again (okay that's it, he had to find out some way to ditch the dna, being so pathetic was NOT fun for the one who was so bent on protecting others), Brayden looked up at a strange sound, thinking himself halucinating as a wall of shadow met his vision. Fearing that he was starting to black out again, Brayden shook his head, closed his eyes tight, and blinked back at the weird... portal? that lay on the wall of the cavern.
Nope, not crazy... it was still there, even after he blinked.
As the shadow of a mysterious figure flickered across the surface of the dimensional rift, Brayden gasped.
"That wasn't... it couldn't be..." he murmured.
It only took a moment for Brayden to make his decision too.
"If its dry... I'm going..." he muttered groggily.

Now if Chloe had been aware of what Pokemon it was that flit across the wall of shadow, and had this been a normal circumstance (as normal as a dimensional rift could be, anyway), she would have most likely squealed (as much of an out of character move that would be), and chased after it.
Well, it looked like she was still going to chase after it, technically.
"I think that whatever that is, its gotta be better than sticking around in an erupting volcano," Chloe surmised with a shrug. "Might as well try it out?" she asked.
Kaze rumbled his definite displeasure for the rain. However, he felt slightly better with the influx of power from Sasha. That still didn't suppress instinct, however. Kaze was with Brayden on this one, if it was dry, he was in.
