Exiting the Black Dunes, Faeandra made her way through the desert fairly quickly, being an expert at traveling through it by now. She came upon a lake and curiously low flying city that she presumed to be Calan, as Gortuls didn't live above ground. She adjusted her eyepatch and sat beside the lake. She considered bathing in it to remove desert sand and such, but she didn't relish the idea so close to this strange low-flying city.

((I'm going to start tektek-ing my characters. I'll get Rivus and I'll TRY to get Aer (Lord help me), and then I want to have a third character to interect with other folks, not in the Wraith stroyline. I'll tektek that character as well, and write a profile. I might have it done by tonight.))

((OOC: No, you didn't miss anything. I just hadn't mentioned it until now. I'm in a horse show tomorrow, in six classes, with a fairly excitable horse. I was at the stables for hours today, getting him ready aside from the usual stuff. I'm so tired. And I have to be up at six in the morning...*moans* Good luck on your thing, animelover.))
Tekira smiled back at Aer. She was starting to get interested in the idea, forgetting her old preoccupation. A part of her wondered if everyone felt the tug of their Hearrte when they got close to it. Would she feel it, too, someday?

((OOC: Maybe I should TekTek Tekira. It wouldn't be too hard, as long as I don't have to copy her dress. I don't think Gaia has clothes like that. Good luck on your concert, and I'll let you guys know how I did tomorrow. If I know by then.))

((I'm going to PM these to Faey, but I couldn't resist posting them here first. 4laugh Aer: (I think I did a fairly good job on this. I was expecting more difficulty, but it was actually even easier than Rivus. I love the shirt.) Rivus: (Harder than I was expecting. I had fun looking for all the red stuff, though. The tattoo was beautiful. ^^) And my new charrie: Satsujin! (Sorry I have so many Calan, I just can't imagine playing someone who lives underground x.x) Name: Satsujin Age: 22 Gender: Female Calan elf or Gortul?: Calan Weapon/Skill: Fights with two katanas, in a self-taught discipline. Can't use magick. Appearance: Other/Additional Information Oddly mature and serious for her age, Satsujin speaks little of where she came from; not because she wishes to keep it a secret, but because she sees no need for useless reminiscences. She is friendly, however, even if earning her trust can go rather slowly. She is on a quest to find her Hearrte, but can only sense its pull if she has fresh blood on her hands. She is not evil, and is in no hurry to slaughter people in the search for her Hearrte, so instead, she partners with others, travels with them, and notes the direction of the pull whenever she is forced to kill thieves and would-be murderers.))

((New character! I PM'd the profile to Faey already and you guys have seen her, so I'll introduce her now. She's not with the Wraith crew though razz This is from Faeandra's point of view, but I promise I'm not stealing your character.))
As Faeandra sat, a glint of light caught her eye. A blade, across the lake, half drawn from its sheath. The blade was attached to the waist of a girl, apparently unconscious, lying on the banks of the lake as if she had collapsed there.
((Le gasp!))

((Ooo, intriguing! blaugh ))
Faeandra jumped to her feet and skirted quickly around the bank of the lake. Approaching the girl, she realized it was a Calan elf, only slightly older than herself. She berated herself for a moment for not bringing her spear with her, but stopped, realizing this girl was well and truly out of it, and not faking. She kneeled down beside her and checked for a pulse. Yup, still alive. She dragged her a little ways from the water so the girl wouldn't roll into the water accidently, and shook her gently to see if she would wake.

"Well then, I guess we should be off!" With a wave of his hand, he flicked another Trump into the air. It hung there for a second, revolving into a mechanical figure of sorts. "Goodevening, Ship. Four to come aboard, two to sleep." Just then they were all three of them transported into the ship, Aer and Wraith to the deck, Janika and Teikira to the sleep chamber where the spells in wait soon took hold of them again.
Turning to Aer on the deck, Wraith/Amryk smiled. "Follow me. IF you are to be the next captain of this ship, then you must view how it is opperated. To the bridge!"

((I don't think Bard ever actually explained the 'Trumps'. They're originally from a book series called the Chronicles of Amber, but I won't get into that. Basically, they are cards depicting people, places, etc. I don't believe you have to have any special abilities to use them, only concentration, but I may be mistaken. In any case, anyone with the proper concentration will be able to use those cards to contact whatever it shows.))
Aer nodded to Wraith. "Yes, sir," he said, getting a little into the mood, and hastened to follow Wraith.
~
She fell to her knees, the hot sun beating down on the back of her neck. She could see that every inch of exposed skin was red and burnt. Fool girl that she had been, trying to cross the desert, but what choice did she have? Her Hearrte was pulling, and once the blood dried, she would no longer feel it. She had to hurry. It had been so important, then. Now, though... Her hands touched the sand, the scalding hot sand. She pulled them away and looked around.
There, in the distance--a glint of something, maybe a mirage, maybe water, but what choice did she have, again? She forced herself up and stumbled toward the light... Onward, and onward, and onward until it seemed she had been staggering through the desert for days... She saw it now, close, so close... She bent to her knees, te water so close she could feel it in the air... And then...
She half-opened her eyes as someone was shaking her by the shoulders. In a flash, she had drawn her left katana with her right hand, but before she could steady it, she dropped it beside her. Her muscles wouldn't respond properly. She growled, and realized she was panting already. Where...? And she remembered. The desert. For the past five days, and she had run out of water two days ago.
"Who...?" she said, wincing. Her throat felt dry and cracked. "Who are you?"
