"I take that chance everytime I let him out of my sight. I can no sooner control him than I can you," she replied briskly, showing a little more of normal pleasant self. Really, he did think the worst of all of them, didn't he? Alex scowled at his back, although the expression slowly melted into a bemused smile. It was what she got, feeling bad for herself that he wasn't talking to her at all. At least she was used to his warm receptions.
She turned to pick out Weiyuan, giving him a wave, not knowing if he could see her or not. Then, like a mother hen and her chicks, she put her hands on the back of the boys she was watching over and urged them onwards, hoping she wouldn't need to give Audun the same treatment.
Once they were out of the gate, she trotted to catch up to Kenth, walking beside him quietly. When they'd first met, it had been in silence, but it hadn't been so strained. Alex glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, debating to ask, but ultimately deciding against it; if he wanted to talk, he would. She'd be here for all of them if they needed her.

"Ahh..." Elijah yawned, covering his mouth with his hand as he finished off the exertion of air. At his side hung his bag with his left hand lightly atop it carefully, making sure mentally he had brought everything along even though he had checked well before he left to get to this point. With his remaining hand he lightly brushed his fingers through his silky brown hair absentmindedly. His mind was foggy, still groggy with the groping tendrils of sleep.
'Wake up,' he told himself inwardly, forcing himself to fully feel alive at that point in time knowing he would need to completely wake soon in order to get the mission started without any flaws jumping into it. Finally his eyes seemed to display the final point of him coming into alertness as they widened slightly, taking in the atmosphere around him as he walked toward the gathering groups. He noticed ahead a few members of his own group and smiled, watching as RuiZhi and his sister parted.
He hoped her group luck. Coming up to them he gave a wave of his hand and a warm smile for greeting, saying a simple, "Hey'' rather informally. Wondering how everything was going to play out he curiously looked to the others, rather quiet in his anticipation.

Rylenn looked at Dante. He raised his hand and waved. "M'here." He nodded. "Ready to go when everyone is." His hands went into his jeans pockets. He didn't feel comfortable.. and probably wouldn't for a while, but he couldn't do anything about it. This was not the time or place to be doing anything other then staying alive. He came here for one purpose. To make sure Weiyuan and RuiZhi didn't get in trouble. Right now he couldn't look after RuiZhi, but he could look after Weiyuan. His eyes flicked to his lover. He sighed and looked to the side. He would keep away.. he made everyone uncomfortable. Why was he even here? He sighed softly and looked for Sable. That one didn't hate him yet. Rylenn didn't make him uncomfortable yet.
Keyword being yet.

Weiyuan looked up from the notes he was studying, realizing he name was called somewhere. His eyes scanned the room, recognizing that the groups had been split up. He immediately bit his lip finding that Ru was not in his group. Nor were any of the three adults he was familiar with.
Damn. He was almost depending on that.
He kept his scowl to himself, eliminating all the other adults to find was in charge of him. Ah. The elf. Most interesting. He wasn't sure what exactly an elf's abilities were but he did know that he did not have them. And what he lacked the other had, cover all areas.
He turned moved back over to Rylenn, seeing the emotions the other was feeling. His heart was being pulled apart. He wanted to care for the red-head, comfort him and tell him that everything would be fine. But the side that this country knew oh so well cried out for the other to just get over it. There was a mission at hand!
He was a serious but compassionate man. 'You're so much like your father Wei.' He snorted, and wondered if any of the natives would recognize him. "Let's go."

Irame, who was sitting near to Dante, looked up as Lina came near. “Mae govanne.” She said with a smile, and a nod of her head as she rose to her feet. Talking was better than brooding over the different types of ‘creatures’ that she had seen in her time. It was much more appealing.
She looked over at Kenth as soon as he began to speak and listened to him carefully. So they would be going to the left. Well that direction seemed as good as any.
“Are you feeling alright today, Lina?” Irame asked. She thought that it would be better to get all the questions out of the way when they all knew that everything was okay, and while they were all still defiantly safe.

“Good morning everyone.” Greg said with a smile as he walked up to the group that he was supposed to be going with. “Especially without a certain someone’s crows trying to peck my face off…” He said looking over at Dante with a chuckle.
“I suppose that we’re almost all here, then?” he asked, looking at the people who were there.

Weiyuan looked to the other man who approached them. He blinked. Something was oddly familiar with this one.
Bright blue eyes. And did he perhaps hear the name Larine. ... His eyes widened a bit, as they usually do, as he came to a conclusion. "You're the HIM Kenth's been freaking out about?" His eyebrow was raised, a bit of a scowl on his face. He imagined the doctor's 'problem' to be someone much...worse. Kenth really did have issues.

“I don’t think that Kenth’s been freaking out about me.” Greg said shaking his head and looking over at Weiyuan. He hadn’t expected the first thing for someone to say that morning to be something so… blunt. He found it funny and refreshing. “He’s not the type to freak out, and I don’t think that I would be something that he would think about so much as to cause him a problem.”
Besides, he thought, Kenth’s too smart to worry about things like that, or me I suppose.

Sable sighed, shuffling around as general directions were given and groups sorted themselves out. He didn't really know any of them, just the students because they were RuiZhi's friends, so he didn't attempt to socialize. He rocked back on his heels, idly noting that making observations and taking specific notes was one of the things he did best. His ideas weren't always profound, but he tried to make up for it with accuracy and detail.
Sable was not a morning person. The people bustling around him hardly registered. It took him a good five mintues to notice Rylenn and Weiyuan...and was that one of the teachers? It must be. RuiZhi's brother was having a nice little chat with him. They were talking about something school related? Maybe? It wasn't his buisness. He turned to the redhead, blinking slowly. "Hey." Huh. That kid still didn't seem quite right. Maybe he should...? Nah. "Sleep well?" The question was safe enough.

Rylenn moved away from Weiyuan, not being able to handle him at the moment. He went to Sable's side and smiled faintly. "Not well.. at all.. anxiety got the best of me and I jumped at every sound. Yourself?" He pulled his hair back and wrapped a long sleeved shirt around his waist. He had seen enough bad old zombie movies to know that one would need extra fabric for bandages. Yes. This is how he looked at it. He knew that was a horrible way to think, but one could not be too careful.

Sable smiled at Rylenn sympathetically. "I didn't, really," he replied wryly. "City boy." He was used to the noise; cars rushing by, sirens now and again, people up at ungodly hours, he was used to it all. There was the flickering light right outside his bedroom window and the lights of cars driving by. Out here, it was practically another world. A world he wasn't exactly fond of. Sable would be perfectly happy living the rest of his life in his tiny house, thank you.
He stifled a yawn and glanced at the redhead. "Anxiety, huh?" He considered it. "Should try sleeping pills, or something." Those might be hard to get, though. It was also really hard to wake up early, so if there was an emergency...well, Rylenn would be horribly disoriented. Maybe it wasn't such a great idea. "Or...reading something boring." He offered a sheepish smile. A lame idea, but it kinda worked.

Wei's eyebrow rose further into his bangs. "Ha. You weren't there now were you?" Yes, he could remember when Alex had to chase after that man to keep him from completely giving up. He wondered if the good ol' doc' would do the same this time around.
This place did seem to bring out the worse in people.
He could feel Rylenn moving away from him. Things were still odd between them. Especially when the two were seen together in public. He sighed. There wasn't much he could do for now.
"Alright then, I'll tell you all of my knowledge of this region." He sighed, adjusting his clothing. They were slightly thicker than his usual choice, but extremely flexible. If they came under attack, he had to be able to move. "As you've probably heard from the past epidemic here, the climate is dangerous. The forrest is damp and dark, so we'll need flashlights and make sure you have good shoes. This place is prime fungi habitat, thus the Luna Cap. It's spores are released during a full moon and it's best to cover your mouth and nose. Do your best to avoid getting scratched up. If the spores get into your bloodstream your dead." His mind flashed to the story of his father as a shadow grew upon his face. "...A simple bleeding paper cut is all you need. So we'll have to carry the 'remedy'. It won't taste wonderful but deal with it."
It felt a little odd to him, talking to elders like this. But among this group, he did know this land best. He hoped that those who were here from the previous epidemic weren't all in the same group. The knowledge needed to be spread.
"I'm fluent in the language so don't worry about the language barrier. These natives are familiar with me and my father. They're more likely to recognize an image of him over me though, so I brought the sketches he had drawn when he was around them." He sighed, trying to erase all the past images of this place he had. Things had changed. He prayed that there were still some natives who would be able to recognize him. Trust him. Or at least his father. He was itching to start moving already.

The both of them had arrived at the meeting point early for this little venture ... Far not wanting to be left out of anything and Ka more or less attatched to the other boy by this point. He glanced up as their "assigned" professors approached and nodded his head slightly.
It was more or less the equivalent of a "ready when you are". Fingers of one hand were wrapped about one of Farlest's, a sort of comforting gesture for them both. Ka wasn't even sure what they were supposed to be looking for in this forest.

Rylenn smiled at Sable and then looked at Weiyuan. He murmured and sighed. "Nothing to read. Not around here. I didn't think to bring anything." He listened to Weiyuan's speech and looked down. He sighed softly and wrapped his arms around himself. He looked at Sable. "Stay with me?" He grinned sheepishly.

Herei was the last to join his group. He had wanted to make sure everyone was sound, and that nothing was left behind; he had thanked Henry for his assistance - much to the scientist's bewilderment - and was ready to be rid of the place. He gave Dante a reassuring smile as he passed the elven man's group; while the elf himself may not understand or like Herei's decision, the man trusted Dante and his ability to handle most given situations. Besides, pairing him with Greg would give him character.
He walked up behind RuiZhi and Elijah, nodding politely to the two women. "When you ladies are ready," he said pleasantly.

Farlest's sharp hearing had caught much of what the others had been saying...and he wondered just how dangerous this venture was. Gods above they might actually get killed out here, that thought was more than a little intimidating.
Squeezing Ka's hand, he smiled up at the other and nodded. "Might as well catch up or we'll be left behind." He knew he didn't have to tug...just starting off after the Doctor and Alex at a fair pace.
Free hand fiddling idly at the straps of his knapsack, he wondered how long they would be here...and just how much help he would be. Well...he'd wanted to be doing things...and he'd thought this school would help him to help others...he just hadn't thought there would be adventure so very soon!
