It had been hard not to notice the immense shaking that had started underneath his feet. Especially since he was still trying to get some of the dirt of his pants, not that anyone would notice, seeing as his pants were the same color as the dirt which clung to them. Kronos as was always his nature was busy walking around the city when the earthquake had hit, so he continued to walk, helping people where he could with putting things back where they belonged.
In his process of helping people Kronos took notice of someone that he had seen around the city before, he had heard that an elf had put up shop near the inn, but he had not the chance to meet her. As he noticed that she was busy helping people, like himself, he thought it would a good time to meet.
"Need any help." Kronos said standing a few feet in front of her. He knew better then to approach someone new too quickly.

Seemed teh Laerethe was not going to let is go. Then again she was naturally curious. A little bit of binding magic nad well...Hunter would find his butt glued to the chair for now. Lycear could only deal with so many things at once. Hunter wasn't going anywhere for the time being, and he had things too attend to that he couldn't wait on for too much longer. "Excuse me, but I have a meeting." Thus off with him to see about this prisoner they had.
Taking the cup, he went back to the pool and dipped it in, scooping up more and bringing it back, filling it once more. A few more trips back and forth and then they had thier little pool on thier city playset full again. Usually they had water in it, but it evaporated from time ot time or the sand sucked the water up. "How's that?"

She glanced up from the scrape she was treating and looked at the stranger for a moment then shrugged. Turning back to the patient on hand, she bandaged the little boy up and then sent him back to his mother. Standing, she brushed her hands on her pants and quirked an eyebrow. "I would appreciate it very much, thank you. Do you...have healing skills?" He was human by the looks of him after all.
"Perfect." She picked up the fish and peered at it for a moment then handed it over to her brother. "Since I was mean to you earlier, you can drop it in and play with it first. I'll play with the dragon." Grabbing said toy, she started making adorable rawring noises and plopped the dragon right in the middle of the city.

Taking the fish with a giggle he clip clopped over to the playset and dropped the wooden fish into the water, pushign it around as if it were swimming. It wouldn't swim on it's own without the pretty glass, just like the dragon wouldn't move either that his sister was playing with. They never even noticed daddy slipping out of the delapidated sanctuary, they were too busy playing truly innocent games this time.

Kronos smiled as his hands acquired a small greenish warm glow. Knelling next to one of the injured he pressed his hands against the wounds, and used his magic to heal them. "I mean it isn't much, I can't heal massive wounds or anything, but I can help." He shrugged.
Kronos cocked an eyebrow as if he heard something that caught his interest. "Sorry to cut our first meeting short, but there is something that I have to attend to." He said and ran towards the outer edge of the city.

"that's where you are wrong. that gemmed outside is all I need. the price will get taken, the gemstone handed over. if they happen to break it and find it false, that just leaves them with less money and a worthless trinket. appearances are many times all you need. Take yourself for example. your small, child-like in your looks. because of that, people that might be more concerned with your presence don't even notice you, unless they know what they are looking for."
he knew that he wasn't moving for now.
"I place my trust in me. and me alone. I don't believe what others say, and I don't trust the words of those that have no vested interest in my interests..and my ship. I command her, she goes where I wish. she's my freedom from confining cities and my home."
smirking lightly.
"you place your trust in that pretty mirror on your neck, and the forms of others to hide your own or learn what you need. Why is that? you say you are no child, your an adult. your kind are supposedly powerful in magic. what need have you to hide in alternate forms, provided by your little trinket? You placed your faith into whatever that glass thing was, and now that it's shattered, you seek the fragments out. why is that? you placed far to much faith in others. in thier abilities to defend whatever it was you handed over."
"That's our biggest difference. you want to change the world, to embrace all of it. I just want to survive it, and get out of the wastelands before I'm in the bottom of a sand dune in a city that used to be. I don't need to restore the world to survive."

Well off Caden went after talking to his commander, he wanted to start getting the repair process done and in order for that to happen new foundations needed to be placed, though he knew someone who would be glad to work that job the man had the skills to do it. It didn't take him long to find his friend who was also helping out some people who had a problem with thier place, he quickly gave him the job of helping to build some new foundations and the guy was quick to get on it, after all he had the skills and the man power to help out so all Caden did was tell his friend to report to Commander Kaznec when he was going to start and how the process was going.
So when that was done Raynes decided it would still be best to continue on working out helping the others clear rubble and help the injured. As he walked along the area he happened to catch the drow again, so he thought there wouldn't be a problem saying hello. With a small smile on his face he wandered over and gave a small nod when she noticed him. "Hey how it going around here? Is everyone alright?" He needed to check up on the status of the situation, it wasn't pretty the last time they had an earthquake.

The rubble slowly shifted to either side of the electrical shield. The figure in the middle slowly released the enchantment, or conjuration, or alteration, or evocation (all depending on how you look at it), and looked at the shifting ruins around him. He frowned. That was not pleasent. He looked at the centre of the field he created, and counted the casualties.
One didn't stand a chance. He was flattened by one of the first planks to fall from the seismic charge. Another, lay half dead next to him. A third was cut awkwardly in two. The fourth remained tall and firm, and the firth seemed to have had an easy time of the ruckus as well. The mage whipped his forehead with his sleeve. He managed to save two chocolate cakes whole, and parts of two others, and only one cake fatality. The baker, and wench were tending to the elf when the quake started, so they were ok too, but that was of no concern to Xaeus.
"If I was a diviner, I could have saved them all..." He pouted, and punched the ground softly, in an almost mock-cry. The baker smacked him on the back of the head.
"If yee got the power to do that, yee should be out their helping with the saving." His gruff voice said.
"Why?" The elf replied.
"Cause its the ight thing to du, yee silly elf." Retorted the baker.
"I guess I can help." Xaeus replied, "Its the least I can do in the memory of those that lay uneatable."
"Yee such an airhead around the sweets." The baker smacked him again. "Get yee going. Save people, not sweets." Though, deep down, the baker was sad to see his products torn asunder. But, unlike Xaeus, he had a moral conscious.
Thus, the blue and grey clad elf walked from one ruin, into the city proper where all sorts of hectic anti-quake rescue operations were underway. People helping people, just like any medieval city. Xaeus found some menial work to do with his hands, hoping to avoid using his magic. Given his talents, there was little one of his calibre could do for the stone, wood, and brick buildings.

Kaznec gave a grateful nod to acknowledge Shyrae's return. He was surprised that she could heal as well as some of the healers employed in the city, but still pleased that she chose to help the wounded despite her objections to her friend's imprisonment. But glancing up as the dragoness guard from earlier approached him, they conversed in low voices for a moment and then he turned back to the elf. "I'm sorry but I have to leave, my father has asked for me." A pause to reconsider his options. "I would bring you back with me but you would be a great asset to have here given the circumstances. Can you stay and help or do you want to go back?" This was probably horrible protocol on his part...

She smiled gently and fingered the mirror around her neck. "This allows me to catch food so that I can survive, much like your trinkets and coins. It is true my appearance helps aid me in my quests because often people discount what they do not think can harm them. But I do not need this place or this mirror. My kind are like nothing you have ever known before. We choose to embrace all of life because it is a gift that has been passed down. We are Guardians in a way since we are responsible for many planes. I have seen worlds you could only dream of and also seen them fall into ruin because of mistrust and solitary lives. Everyone needs someone, Hunter, especially in the human life." Taking a seat next to him, she turned and looked up to him.
"My kind are highly gregarious and so are yours. Solitariness can only sustain one for so long. You need your ship because you have placed your trust and your love in every rig and mast, but what happens when that ship is not enough? You want to survive but by turning all against you, you are merely killing yourself faster. I know you have a special gift that has blessed you with far more days than you would normally see, but even paradise can often be lonely. Where do you hope to go that emotions and memories cannot follow?"
She blinked at the sudden departure but figured he might have seen someone he knew hurt or heard something that he needed to investigate. If he wanted to help, he'd be back. She returned to tending those surrouding the area until Kaznec appeared and she glanced up at him, shielding her eyes from the sun as she listened. "I can help out here. There's a lot to be done and the healers of the city can use as much help as they could get." Of course she got the unspoken, he was trusting her to remain where she was and do the job she was agreeing to do. "Go on, Kaznec. I'll come back when I'm finished, I give you my word." And it meant a lot to her that a total stranger was willing to trust her, he didn't know Intharas never broke their word.
Her gaze went to Caden and she nodded. "It looks like the buildings that fell mostly gave surface wounds to the people around. No casualties as of yet but I'm not ready to celebrate just yet. We need to dig through the rubble of that big building over there and...find what's buried beneath..."

"I will take your word. And I thank you for your generosity , on behalf of the people of Ilindal." Though somewhat doubtful because he had learned not to trust anyone too easily, Kaz nodded slowly and turned away, taking to the sky once more and in the direction of the tower. He glanced over his shoulder once to look back down and see her tend to another wounded worker in the rubble. This would be a test, for her and for himself. Landing on the ramparts, he headed up the stairs to the tower and knocked before entering. "Father, I got your message." Golden eyes fell upon the binded human and the Laerethe briefly, he gave the latter a small nod.

"My ship has never failed me, and she never will. and what gift I have was me not being able to read elven script when I stole it."
a slight smirk.
"Is that your round about way of saying I need a woman? this is hardly paradise, nor am I particularly solitary. I have my crew. much like the lion has his pride. Now if your asking me for a little romance, you just have to say so."
another grin.
"But emotions and memories are fleeting things, easily repressed or escaped. And I'm not turning everything against me. there's only...four against me right now. the two elves, you, and the city leader. and thanks to you and the boss, I'm sure the hooded elf is going to get a fine thrill out of my current situation."

Caden smiled a little and gave a nod on Shyrae's little report on what was going on, it seemed things were coming along pretty well but they weren't out of the woods yet. So with a small sigh he looked towards the rubble that use to have been what was a building and stared at it for a bit. "Well then lets do it, if you still need to heal others then do so but I want you ready incase we pull someone out from the rubble and they need medical attention, that includes any other healer around so please tell them so if you see them, I'll get other guards to do so as well but they may be working on the collapsed building even more."
So with a small deep breath Raynes paused for a second and then went right to work, quickly he gathered a group of guards and gave them thier orders, grab any able bodied person who was in good shape to help clear the rubble to check for survivors, once he gave those orders out the group split up and started gathering those that they could use. In about fifteen minutes they had three lines set up, the people at the front picked up anything removable and it got passed down the line, though of course there were a few that just worked by themselves but they weren't in the way; Caden of course was working in the front, hoping that he wouldn't find anyone trapped underneath this mess.

Light and such died down and Lycear gave a nod to things before looking to the elf that stood not far from him. "I see...so...it's not exactly a good account of what happened. But it does absolve you of directly being invoved. The dagger...though it has your prints on it, I don't believe it's yours...everyone who comes into the city is scanned over, it wasn't on your person and you didn't get it from anyone here. The feather...well, I've noticed your bird has rather...interesting feathers."
"As in you mean they seem to decompose quickly and also do so by going to a soot like state?" Giving a light nod. "No, he is not undead. He is very much alive...just specialized to survive on the timeframe of an elf. But all that aside, seeing as you are now saying these things to me...does that mean you're calling me innocent?"
"I would like to say so. But however, there is one more factor in this. A Captain Hunter 'Hawk' Deacon...he says that he knows who did this and why you were set up. In fact he says you are very interesting to him...and that you spoke to him in the jail cells."
She turned her head in his direction, then followed him as he started to walk out and she presumed back to his office where others probably were waiting. "Captain Hawk? Yes we've met...at the tavern and inn. I don't recall speaking to him any other time." Hell no she wasn't going to tell him that she had. She had a vendetta that she wasn't going to simply throw to the wind.

"You think that but everything occurs for reasons we cannot always explain. You were meant to have that ring, whether you believe that or not. And you were meant to do something with the extra time you have, whether good or evil." Was he asking to breed with her? "You are not my kind. I would not breed with you." Fiddling with the mirror once again, she caught his image and then dropped it back down. "Your crew is not loyal to you because you rule them in fear. They know just as you do that if something goes wrong, you will all turn on each other. Mutiny is not only found on pirate ships." Another shake of her head, "When you have nothing else, late at night, when it is just you and you alone, memories return. They cannot be diluted and they cannot be destroyed. They are you, body, soul, and mind."
"Of course. I'll remain right here." She went back to tending the wounded but steeled herself just in case her help was to be needed for a rather macabre task. Chances were anyone lost in that rubble was beyond saving and that was a horrible though to accept...
