sad We're getting hammered with a blizzard outside. My daughter has just finished her antibiotic for strep throat and pneumonia and I've had an endless headache. (She's a complete bear when she's sick, especially towards her brothers.)
So, is anyone planning on building snowpeople soon? whee

Yeah, we punted on the building of the snow creatures. I can't even open my front or side doors! xp Do you have any cloth diapers or anything in the house? It's probably safer just to stay home, if you can manage. Can you borrow diapers and stuff from a neighbor?

fletchen [Thanks for the warm welcome. wink I admit that it's sometimes difficult keeping up with all of the "disorders/disabilities" labeled out there. Here's some info on Sensory Processing Disorder: SPD Network- FAQs These are children that have difficulty processing sensory information. As for the bipolar disorder, my daughter was being treated for just her ADHD (emphasis on hyperactivity) and as a result of being placed on a higher dose of antidepressant - she was pushed into a manic state. Here's some info on early-onset bipolar disorder CABF Learning CenterI think I have a lot of reading to do here to catch up on everyone and what they're dealing with. redface wow, i can't imagine how hard it would be as a parent to when your child has these disorders, and bipolar..........my father i think has bipolar.........kinda scary.....but he doesn't realieze it.......and i'm glad you're here.

Oh no, William's is something else. http://www.williams-syndrome.org/She found out because her mother was a nurse and kept saying there was something wrong with him (not in a mean way) and the doctor checked out his heart. There's a specific test for it. Eek, blizzards! eek

Thanks Angelique~Yuna! wink I'm still learning about bipolar disorder. It's even considered a controversial diagnoses by some. We basically found out that my daughter is bipolar the hard way. My daughter is a really hyper, intensely emotional child at home or school. She's also a very bright girl, far above grade level. I took her to a developmental pediatrician last year for a throrough evaluation and they diagnosed her with ADHD - predominately hyperactive subtype. Anyway, they tried giving her Ritalin, which made her have more outbursts. Then they tried Straterra, which is a non-stimulant including a mood stabilizer - and that made her act very, very strange and violent. But the cincher was giving her Zoloft, an antidepressant. It seems to be common knowledge amongst the psychiatric community that when you give someone with an underlying bipolar disorder an antidepressant - it sends that person into mania mode. stressed So, I'm doing all I can to learn about it.

Angelique~Yuna all the snow we had must melted here! i'm so sorry your daughter is sick, i hope she feels better soon! She seems to be feeling better already. I can always tell when she's sick because she gets so grumpy. The strep appears to be gone but I think she still has some chest congestion. I've been running the humidifier quite a bit, too. She's breathing much better, though. Thanks for asking. wink They cancelled school for the kids today and tomorrow. They're still trying to clear the snow. We got at least 2 feet out there. We may even get snow on Wednesday. Hubby is barking about moving to a warmer climate again, naturally. xp I think it's because of all the shoveling. And I'm not supposed to be shoveling because I have a prolapse problem.

Hi I'm new here, I'm wondering if anyone has a child with Hirschprung's Disease? My youngest has it and I don't know anyone else who has heard of it much less deals with it.

Dark_Enchantress Hi I'm new here, I'm wondering if anyone has a child with Hirschprung's Disease? My youngest has it and I don't know anyone else who has heard of it much less deals with it. Hi Dark Enchantress, I'm quite new here, too. wink I'm not familiar with Hirschprung's Disease. I tried looking it up online, but it seemed like there is another disease called Hirschsprung's. Anyway, I found this. Let me know if either of these descriptions sound accurate: E-Cure Me, Hirschprung's Disease or The Doctor's Doctor - Hirschsprung's
