I gotta go with woodwinds. They may not have fanfares but they tend to sound prettier than the brass. Of course that all depends on the group of musicain.

Woodwinds are easier to produce a pleasant sounding tone on. Brass instruments usually sound terrible in the early stages of learning, but they hold the capacity for sounding awesome, too.

DiddleFreak61387 Brass usually greet ppl wit HI I'm better than you but me, i'm percussion, one of the smarter ones in the group too... good lord that's funny. but true. the guys in my section do that a lot, and then people ask what chair they're in, and they get all quiet. mwaha cuz im first chair, and im a girl! *burned guys* anyway, i like both the same since i play trumpet yet almost all of my friends are woodwinds or dancers...... whee but for low notes, brass, and high notes, woodwinds. especially when we do scales. the brass usually only do two octave while woodwinds do, erm, three or four.... i feel stupid... hee sweatdrop lol -.-'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

I like french horns and saxophones because we're kinda the bridges between the two worlds, ya know? I especially LOVE the french horn because it can be dark and melodic or in-your-face and brassy, depending on the style of music... but then again, I'm kind of partial. 3nodding

i like woodwinds, not only because i play sax, i mean i chose it for a reason (actually at first because of Lisa Simpson but yeah) i like the sound more then the sound of brass, i guess brass just sounds too...brassy? lol i don't know how to explain it, i just prefer woodwinds.

WOODWINDS!!! I play the clarinet/oboe and I've played a flute/pic/tenor sax...so yeah. And the woodwind sound is, for lack of a better word, warmer, not blatty like brass... and brass players can be cocky, and by brass I mean trumpets...

WOODWINDS i've been playing them for 3 years and i don't intend on stopping. Also when we are rehersing in band i alsomost go deaf seeing as i have to sit infront of a trumpet, personally i think if we had another trumpet all you would ever hear are trumpets in our band.
