What happened? Zen wondered as the crew rushed towards the portal, it seems Aiolos lost focus and the tornadoe dispelled, thick clouds of dust and debris surrounding the portal of light, their plan was foiled. In a last ditch effort Zen balled up into his blood kart mode, he peeled off straight for the light hoping to make it if no one else could. No one could have truly seen him behind the tornado and so it was as if he wasn't even their, the cart being silent and all. Team cerebrus were still dealing with the humvee while Zen was doing this and so it looked like this was gonna happen. he had increased speed, he had silence, and he had stealth underneath he cover of the dust cloud.

THE PORTAL BECAME UNSTABLE It was beginning to close, and as it did people were being spat out of it right and left as the storm consuming the other side sucked them back to their own reality.

Seeing how he was closest to the portal out spat Zen who landed several feet away from the storming hole, he honestly didn't know what happened, it was like a big vacuum or something. "Ow my asss." Zen replied as he rose to his feet rubbing his cheeks.

"...aaaAAAAIN!"
Rage landed heavily on both legs, trying not to stumble as he hit the ground. It wasn't easy when you were carrying two people (only one of them living) and a ton of equipment.
For everything Rage had lost these last few days, he had also gained as much. So, he couldn't really complain.
"Owle... you wanna head back home now? I think that's what we've all wanted to do from the start...."

First, an indescript teenager with pants wet from his own urine would be flung from the portal- he was high in the air, as if someone had actually tossed him. So if this ex-hostage was the tossee, where was the tosser?
Cautiously, a boot clapped against the stone ground around the Barton fountain. The second step was more sure of itself, and Stryphe was free of the portal. His top half was stained in blood, looking like he'd run through a sprinkler of the stuff.
He tossed his halberd to the ground, frustrated, but glad things were back to 'normal'. It was funny to see all these gaians around, licking their wounds and keeping to themselves. Stryphe knew at this instant that whatever those marbles were all about, they weren't any good- a few hours ago and we'd all be at eachothers throats, he thought to ********' awesome combo attack, though."

"Home..." Owle breathed. "It sounds like a good place. Let's go."
She felt drained. After all she had seen, all she had heard...all she wanted was to be back in the Firebrand, in her own bed. Alone, with Rage just one room away.
If Vahn and Athan could come too...well, Athan looked like he'd be better off being rushed to Barton Hospital. Or at least to a white mage. But home, with a safe place to sleep, and loved ones all around...that seemed like a good place to Owle.

And out went his body, flung with the same force that said ******** of a twister within that other place had claimed him with.
He didn't know up or down, nor did he care, as he went flying from the Fountain, and landing hard against the side of a crumbling building, only to go sliding down along the wall.
He slipped right into an alleyway, a weird crack sounding out as he did.
This... isn't my home.
All he had left in this world was Victor... and what was he doing... trying to find him so he could fight with him? They both should have never left... he wished they hadn't... wished none of that had happened.
Everyone else got to go home...
Maybe Victor was right.
And he was wrong.

Fluffy fell to the ground not far from Stryphe. Where was Fluffy's master? Well, she wasn't too far behind. Ulfdisa fell back into the reality of Gaia with a surprised cry. Only, she didn't fall on the ground, no, she got lucky. You see, right below Disa, ready to break her fall, was Mr. Epothos.

"Goddamn, Vahn."
That had a ring to it.
Rage had said it in regards to the way he made his exit. "Well, if you need a warm bed, you're welcome. Just don't you lay a finger on Owle or you'll never see either one again."
He managed the smallest of smiles. He knew he'd never really be on good terms with Vahn, but maybe that's what made it so fun.

"Shu-whoashi-!"
James was no sooner out from the light than he found himself hurtled into the fountain once again. He'd thought he'd seen enough of that place yesterday when he jumped out of the helicopter... but no, it was just dying to get another piece of him.
And that was when he did the single most characteristic thing anyone would expect from him... he laughed.
Wet, dripping, covered in wounds, probably a fractured rib from the steering wheel, but none of that really mattered.
This... was home. And it was here to stay.

((OOC: looks like the thread got locked just before I posted sweatdrop Here's what should have been posted on the other side.)) Ai Leen ...it was getting larger. The thought crossed the stillness her mind. And then: something had taken a hold of her. She let herself be pulled. She was almost in, when she suddenly gasped. "Sentaku!" Her hands dug into the ground, resisting the pull. Where was she? Where was her angel? There... just a foot or two away...the place she had been sitting. She reached out. Pulled herself up to the doll. Collapsed next to her, and snugged her in. Tears leaked from her eyes unbidden. "...gomen, sentaku..." ...and they were pulled into the light.

Gamma was sitting on the lip of the fountain with the chainsaw next to him like some kind of life-long buddy. People were coming back out and Gamma was content to sit and watch.
The mask was still grinning as it panned to watch people go. If people were smart they'd just go, despite Gamma trying to keep them all out through any-chainsaw-necessary.
Stryphe would emerge and have a bloodied riding crop in his hand.
Which made it pretty apparent as to what happened, if everyone coming out alive wasn't obvious enough. Lacing his fingers together, he wrenched his hands down and let out a staccato of pops in sequence.
Well... Atleast he had the monetary reward.

"Vahn?" Owle cried out as he went sailing over their heads and into a nearby building.
Running over to the fighter's collapsed form, she couldn't help shooting a grin at Rage. "What if I lay a finger on him? Is that okay?"
And then she'd be kneeling over Vahn, checking him for injuries, or if he was even still conscious.
"Hey...you alright there? Those morons at the gate didn't give you any trouble, did they?"
She hadn't seen what had happened to him inside the strange world beyond the portal, but she remembered keenly the axe-wielding maniac outside.

People where coming back out.
"We're not getting that money are we?"
Sitting as he was with his feet in the waters of the fountain Miles casually watched the growing crowd. He wonder if any would try to revenge themselves for earlier.
That was fun.

Meanwhile, not too far from the fountain, someone's eyelids flickered. Then this someone groaned, and dragged himself to his feet, brushing off the dust that had accumulated from the destruction. He then turned to look at the pillar of green light disgorging people left and right. He grins and shakes his head wistfully.
Gareth: "Wish I could've seen what was in there. Must've been ********' awesome."
He walks over to the crowd who had emerged.
Gareth: "Hey! Glad to see you're all in one piece!"
No one responds.
Gareth: "Uh...hey! Hello?!"
Still no response.
Gareth: "Fine, ignore me why doncha? Bestids..."
He turns to stalk back to the Humvee and see if there was anything he could salvage...only to see himself sprawled unconscious not five yards away.
Gareth: "F-uck."
He holds his hands up...more transparent than usual. He looks at the dusty ground...no footprints. And now etheral music has become even more evident...yep. This was definitely an out-of-body experience. With a sigh, he tilts his head to the skies and bellows:
Gareth: "I'd better not be dead yet!"
Muttering, he moves his incorporeal self over to his corporeal body and sits on its chest.
Gareth: "This better be over soon..."
