There never really was a time where I didn't like Yaoi, in fact, it was what helped me get into anime as much as I am now.

Shades Of Change There never really was a time where I didn't like Yaoi, in fact, it was what helped me get into anime as much as I am now. The second half of this is true for me. When I first got introduced to yaoi/shounen-ai in middle school, it's not so much that I didn't like it as it was that I got embarrassed by it. To be fair though, I was pretty shy at that point and got embarrassed by any kind of romance or non-friendly physical affection, even if it was the "normal" hetero kind. Basically, some well written fanfiction (and really pretty art) that paired two of my favorite characters from that time (not that I don't still love them now) and some very bad jokes from some very affectionate friends got me over that phase. Especially when I found out that one of those friends was gay herself.

Honestly, I used to hate yaoi with a passion. I would bash it all the time! Then I saw a picture of two male characters from this anime I watch and I was like "omg this shits hot and they make a better couple than any of the damn women in the series"

I used to be grossed out by it. I don't really know when I started to like it, but I somehow found myself reading and watching slash/yaoi. Now, het pairings seem odd to me.

I was pretty young when I learned about it...funny story too! all I know is that two hot guys was enough to get me hooked even though I didnt really even know/care much about sex!! I guess I am a natural yaoi fan girl!!! 4laugh

I was never against yaoi. I was just hesitant at first since I was raised catholic and was never...um...introduced to such a thing (sorry can't find the right words). My sister and I just stumbled on it while looking up fanfics and curiosity got the better of me and from then on I have been a fan of yaoi. It was different and it was new and interesting. I had to sneak around for years until my sisters joined in on my yaoi obsession.

I never hated yaoi before, just found creepy and alien at the time. The came gravitaion, which started it, but then I read Whip On which made me quite for a while and my curiosty failed me and gave up on it. Then something got me into it, (pretty sure it was junjou romantica not sure) so now I'm a yaoi lover and manage to get my friend into yaoi(sorta)...

Was never against it....The stories are made for girls by girls u can really progress with these characters....cry when they cry crying ...laugh when they laugh rofl ...plus I'm bi heart myself so always had an open mind...But my husband on the other hand hates my addiction...we bump heads all the time.....he almost made me choose between him and yaoi....why? not like I'm shoving it down yr throat....So I can't display my collection....There in boxes....tons of boxes....lol burning_eyes
