She stared up at him, her eyes watering and her heart throbbing as if she wore it on the sleeve of her tunic.

"Don't be stupid! I'd never run away!" She sputtered out through tears, as his head rested so closely. Cinnamon flooded her senses, the scent calming her nerves, even if the spice was the same scent as those of the lizards. Her eyes shut tightly, as she thought if she held on like this it wouldn't change.

At first...A-At first when I could see... When I could see you, I wanted to run away. I wanted to hate you. But.. I couldn't... I didn't hate you... "Please....He's fighting for us.. please get my brother back!" Her voice rose and cracked with emotion, her body weakening even, as Sunstrike reassured her he would get Hibon.

She blinked back the welling tears, as Sunstrike moved away and began searching the ground, watching as he reached out with something to her. "...But..." Her eyes stared down at the object, watching the unreal gleam of it, and then back up to him.

Even as Sunstrike began walking away from Nahara, the shadows seemed to grow and pool in front of the lizard, stretching and thinning until, several loud thudds were heard, craters accompanying each one.

Nahara let out a soft yell, as she shielded her eyes with her arm, her tunica billowing with the gust of wind. Several misshappen forms were dragging themselves out and making way straight for Sunstrike. So horribly disfigured, and fiendish looking, the only word suitable to describe them was "demons". They were in fact, merely failed experiments... and what better foot soldiers.

Vahn Kyonuske
"I'll send you back where you came from!" He yelled out, the thrown projectile glancing off and to the side with a simple snap of his left arm, the wood biting into his flesh and making long scratches down the bicep.

He continued turning, and showed no signs of ending, even as his opponent ran forward as well, running right into the leg sweep that came twisting along the ground with that same speed, the greave sending up dirt and smoke.

If the leg sweep caught him off guard, then the knight would be sent tripping forward, as Vahn would be leaping backwards, to literally stomp into his back, right ontop of his spine.

Disheartened at the first attack missing he kept firm watch for a counter. The sweep struck true, knocking out his leg's, but surprising him naught. The man used his feet, a lot, he'd expected a foot blow. Tucking in his left shoulder he moved into a roll, throwing himself at least two feet away from where Vahn's stomping greaves would crash.

Depending on whether the soldier went for the spine stomp or not the knight would step backwards into Vahn's nearby back with a sharp elbow, or turn and start shuffling towards where ever the rotations ended and he took stance, in a sort of Muay Thai guard stance.

A grunt, as his feet met only ground. His body was firm and unyielding, even as he grinded to a halt, not backing down a single bit. The elbow struck true, solidly placed against Vahn's bare back.

The muscles would be seen tightening, and flaring out only to relax once more, as Vahn took the blow in stride. "Ehehehe...I'm happy." His shoulders rolled a bit, as the laughter sounded out. "Yes, that's right. It doesn't suit me to be the hunted all the time. So..." He leaned forward, arms drooping slightly once more, as he grinned.

"Let's do it. The continuation of it..." He said, still grinning, as if he were actually riding pleasure out of it all. His right arm hung, as he slowly made a fist in his right hand, each finger folding against the palm, before his thumb hooked over. He would rise up and spin with a backward smack of his hand against his opponent's head, while at the time, mule kick with his right leg. Close quarters combat was Vahn's homefield advantage... how unlucky.

Sunstrike crouched down, his crest spiking in anger and surprise. His wings flared to keep Nahara out of their vision. He needed her to get out, to get to Vahn.

Paying attention the beings crawl out of the earth, he tsked lightly. They were either severly underestimating his ability, or running a test to see how he handled a situation like this. He felt something strange move slightly in his mind and he looked at his hand in surprise, seeing the sizable quarterstaff...had shifted to fit his current height....which was odd...

It whistled and landed a good crunching impact on the closest shadow demon, with enough force to send the twisted body flying. Sunstrike straightened, tail weaving in happiness, and grinned...Rows of teeth catching the light.

Oh well...never look a gift horse and all that...

It was quite a sight, to see. Monster pitched against monsters. At least that's how it would look at first glance to a random passerby, before he ran screaming his head off.

The mishappen shapes were of varying features, all twisted out of their original shapes into something horrendous; the price of playing god. But even failures had their use.

This much was clear, as they crahsed against the sole-lizard, as one, a terrfying force of unmatched uglieness. It was quite impossible, to look any uglier, than these demons looked. Which was only punctuated by the fact that each one of them had a large, roving and animated eyeball on their left shoulders, one that eagerly secreted some sort of acidic spit towards Sunstrike.

It was easy to see why they were labeled: "nobodies".

Sunstrike winced internally over the fact someone had spotted them. The local militia probably wouldn't look too fondly at a lizard this far into the actual city of Strata. But he didn't have time to worry over prejudices or problems later on. He managed another crack at a mishapen head before he had to duck something wet that launched itself out of it's shoulder.

The substance hit the wall and fizzled. He wasn't quite sure what that would do to scales, and he definately was in no mood to find out. He ducked low again, realizing he had a tail in offence when it actually smacked into the legs of a deformed being, causing it to fall over. This in turn made him straighten up in surprise, his muzzle uppercuting another being with a crack, and making him curse. Okay....this was going to be difficult.

Sunstrike was used to fighting as a human, he had all the skill of a newborn in this new body, and no time to register where everything was supposed to go and move. Things were getting in the way that had never been there before, and it was pissing him off.....REALLY pissing him off. Heat rose in waves and suddenly he roared. The same pitched cry that had echoed through the city once, did so again, but this time there was an alien sort of power that went along with. Sunstrike's tail thumped and the ground moved and then impacted in a large circle, tossing the ravaged disjointed, bodies back, a few embedded into buildings with the force of his fit.

Like a child frustrated that he didn't have the balance to do what he wanted, Sunstrike threw a fit. Of course, this child had a ballisa full of earth/fire magic to mess with, and a new eight foot body to do it in.

There were several sickening cracks, and the sound of renting flesh, as they were all knocked away by the tail swipe.

However, these bodies apparently had some unknown degree of stamina, or simply did not feel pain as a living organism did. The misshapen bodies began flinging themselves forward, dogpiling onto one another; their bodies acting as if a magnet were pulling them in.

The sickening stench of rotting flesh filled the alleyway, as the sounds of tearing continued on, the sickly grey skin stretched taunt on a new forming body. All of the "nobodies" were merging into one ridiculously large and grotesque form. With a torso made of mangled arms and heads, and limbs of decaying corpses and fingers, it was a pitifuly twisted version of something vaguely humanoid.

The shrill cry that broke out now, was one that churned the bowels, as if large nails raked along chalkboard. the surroundings literally vibrated with the shriek, shaking before settling down again. The newly formed mass of flesh stared down Sunstrike, reaching forward with one gaping claw of bone and talons.

By now, this couldn't have gone unnoticed any longer, as support from the Milita had long since arrived, only to meet their path blocked by Samuel.

"Pisses me off... all this trash in my way." That gorilla face beamed again, as he strided forward.

Sunstrike snapped out of his frustration, the sound of the combined things causing his body to shudder, making his ears go flat in pain and horror. I gotta get out of here...

s**t?! As the thing reached down he shot out of the way, diving and rolling out into the main street.

...

...

Right in between the apporoaching Samuel and militia. He got up from his crouch, and he idley shook himself, scales shifting with clacking noises, and sneezing as some dust got caught up in the nose.

Then he was off running, towards Samuel, and then over him with a snap of wings. Using the shock to his advantage. Which increased, because with a loud crash the huge...thing...followed after.

He would rise up and spin with a backward smack of his hand against his opponent's head, while at the time, mule kick with his right leg.

Ah, the universal block. His right leg would slide upwards, and he'd go into a centered horse stance. Raising his arms up so that one could draw a straight line through his elbows, arms on forty-fives, parallel, left one up to two o'clock, right down at about eight. From there it was a simple matter of pushing his arms out to the sides and straightening them up, his pecs pretty much doing most of the work.

The knight's left arm would force Vahn's arm to the right, while the right forcefully pushed his leg back to the left. Slipping his left hand around he'd grip the soldier's wrist, holding Vahn twisted uncomfortably to the right while his leg swung off in the opposite direction.

From there? A quick right front kick to the nuts with the top of his foot.

Cheap but effective.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 23, 2005 7:27 pm

"Oh...?" Laughter sounded out again,as he took it all in stride, none of his blows landing, since the Knight apparently was no longer a Knight without his weapon.

"What a dissapointment... but I'm tired of this game--" With a simple forceful jerk to the opposite direction, regardless of what became of his wrist, Vahn practically bulldozed and threw his weight around, deciding to see who had the greater muscle here. "a*****e!" It'd be a tug, as he snapped his right arm forward and with the Knight holding on, he'd be flung forward flat onto his face.

Vahn's right leg would be pushed out, before declining enough to hit the ground and ski forecfully to a halt. the strongest muscles in his body, if Vahn didn't want that leg to move, he'd be damned if it would move.

As for an actual attack? As the pretender of a Knight was flung forward, Vahn would give him a straight left kick to the a**. That should shape him up.

The knight felt the overwhelming force of Vahn's pull and decided this had gone on long enough. The hero had him beat in the area of close combat. He knew some moves, but didn't had the power to back them up against this guy. A slow whistle emanated out as the soldier tossed him, the kick landing in sync with a volley of eight needles from four different directions, all aiming for the base of Vahn's neck.

If the needles hit, the knight would get back angrily to his feet, stepping around the drugged soldier to draw a symbol into the ground. A few chanted words a dark pit would open up, wide enough to toss in the average human body.

- "Gather the livestock." -

The zombies would crawl slowly out of their hiding places, slipping calmly into the various alleyways where they'd left the victims. One by one they'd sling a someone over their shoulder and toss them into the hole roughly. It was then that the knight would do his work, roughly beating on that b*****d Vahn, working the kinks out of his shoulders as he pummeled the man's face in.

If the needles didn't hit? Well, bah.

"Sargasso, already?" Samuel gruffed out, as he watched the monstrous demon give chase after the lizard now, actually using the nearby buildings as stepping stones. "I thought he was just trash..."

All around Samuel, lay the bodies of the Militia unit that had the unfortunate luck to run into him. They'd fallen victim to his "Soulsucker" leaving him quite unsatisfied as usual.

The new demonic entity, apparently known as a Sargasso, gave chase after Sunstrike, not actually able to laungh itself airborne, but it made do with a sickening prethensile tounge which shot out, and attempted to snag at the lizard, much like a frog would at a fly.

~~

"Get up. I'm not done with you yet." The lou mouthed fighter drew himself forward slowly, massaging his right wrist, even as the needles were flying through the air.

At about the same time, he would be bending over, several of the needles would actually graze over his skin, the flesh of his earlobes, and cheek, one landing squarely to the left of his neck, one embedding themselves within his actual neck, and even one that whizzed right along his scalp and through his short hair.

Needless to say he was surprised as hell, and grunted at the sharp jabbing pain. "What the hell?!" His hands went behind him, trying to get at the needles that had actually landed in his skin, yellowed eyes furious. s**t! The others!

He pulled the nearest one from his left side and actually examined it, disgust and a feeling of being cheated settling over him. "C-Crap...! What the hell do you think this is, a jungle!?" Snapping the needle cleanly in two, he saw the Knight do something to the ground, before suddenly seeing two Knights and two gaping holes in the ground.

His vision was blurring. Poison... Not knowing exactly what he was hit with, he wasn't going to just stand around like an idiot to find out. "You sonuvabitch!" He roared out, as the Knight came towards him, apparently expecting to find a declawed tiger, for all intents and purposes.

However Vahn's body was already fighting against whatever had entered his system, and he was already feeling more fatigued than he should have been, but it didn't take much effort to actually shove the Knight off with a savage headbutt, spittle flying as the red-head roared out; a clear message telling the Knight to back the ******** off.

It was at this moment that Nahara actually ran in, and came to a straight halt, staring at the animal that was Vahn.

Sunstrike

Sunstrike felt the air whistle by one of his ears and he dove to the left, rolling tail over muzzle down another sidestreet. The tounge hit something, and spattered, then retracted. From his upsidedown position Sunstrike made a noise of disgust. Ewwww...what WAS this bloody thing?!

Twisting his now catlike spine he ran on all fours for a second before building up enough speed to lunge forward on two, the ground whizzing by. With a snap of his wings he dove out of the way again as the tounge lunged for him. Some of the spatter landed on his wings this time and he screamed as it ate away at the soft mesh of his skin over bone, both of them instantly retracting in response to the pain. Splinters and dust showered him as part of a building was taken down by the force of the appendage that was after him.

Right then. He grabbed the tounge as it was retracting back, hissing as pain lanced through from the acid, lanching his frame into the air, coming alarmingly close to that large mouth, before snapping his wings open, disturbing the path of ascent and making him land on top of the strange head. He pulled his weapon up and there was a spark. It started from his hand/claws, gripping the staff, and arched it's way around his body, picking up speed and size as it whizzed around him like a small comet. At the last moment, Sunstrike impacted the staff against the small fire ball. There was an explosion of light as it was driven into the head of the thing he was on top of.

There was something resembling a chortled yell, that died out halfway through, as the cue-ball manuever sent the compact fireball whizzing through the top of the Sargasso's head.

The explosion was deafening even at close range, and there was a distinct splattering sound, as the head collapsed in on itself, black blood splattering, even as the lumbering body began to fall earthwards.

You know the old saying, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Unfortunately, even in it's death spasms, the demon saw fit to drag Sunstrike along for the ride, and its arm stretched out one last time, to squeeze the lizard in a vise-like grip, and thundered onto the ground.

Sunstrike

PostPosted: Fri Aug 26, 2005 1:54 pm

"Hah!! Got you, vicious bas- *!! And Sunstrike was flying without the aid of his wings. While he'd been busy gloating a twisted hand had gotten ahold of his torso and smashed him into the ground. Air exploded from his mouth as he was driven into the earth face down, the weight of the whole hand against his back.

Had he been in an observing position, instead of taking a front-row seat, he would have been quite proud at the size of the crater his body made.

After deciding, regretfully, that he needed to stay conscious he got up a little, the dead weight shifting. He moaned softly, moving a little to see if anything was broken, and when realizing that his arms were,

...well "okay" was a stretch...,

decent, he began pulling himself from the strange demon, wishing he hadn't gotten out of bed.
