"Alright then, damned one." Hissed Darius as the lunging beast came forward, the furry bulk thundering the earth beneath him. "May the gods have no mercy on thy soul. Althino Sezingto Ishimonsa!" The prayer complete the hunter growled and redirected the arm with the cackling lightning directly at the wolf. The sparks flashed and snapped, twisting and writhing as they danced. The golden eye blazed brighter and the crippled hunter spat as with a simple effort, tongues of cracking blue lept from his hands and toward the oncoming beast.

Taria barrelled straight at the flames, looking as though she was about to simply attempt to bull her way right through the intense heat, counting on her bulk to at least let her reach the Hunter before she perished. But no, Taria did not have quite so much of a death wish as that. Instead, right before the flames would have hit her, she jumped up and over them, still getting some of her belly fur singed off, but nothing like as badly as she would have gotten. Growling and snapping, she didn't even notice Kaori but came straight on at the the Hunter with death in her eyes.
Talia did notice Kaori though, and thought a quiet curse and she dodged out of hiding to tackle the other girl. "Lie still!" she hissed. "Big sis would never forgive herself if she caused someone's death. Someone besides a church-member, I mean." she amended as she glanced back at her charging sister.

The large half-demon male had moved in front of Kaori, he was becoming so protective, something he didnt understand, especially of her. . . His snarls started up not too terribly long after, it frustrated him not helping as much as he could, but he didnt want to be hurt. This hunter would surely be the first of many.
During this whole time he had kept the younger female in check. She had darted around behind the scences flinging things, rocks he soon found, at the hunter. He found this interesting. . . at least she was helping without being wreckless and getting herself hurt.
As this dispicable excuse for a man stated his reasonings, Abel roared in fury "KILL HIM! There is no room left for this man anymore," He glanced over his shoulder at Kaori, hesitant before he finished. "I'm sorry, Kaori. . . " He lifted his bow again, taking aim. Get out of the way. He thought irratably as Taria moved in for another attack. She had been so much of a help, and he was so grateful, and relieved none of them had been seriously hurt yet.

Kaori stood up and nodded numbly. She did not like the thought of killing the man, despite everything that he had said and she knew he had probably done. But in the back of her mind, she knew that they did not have any choice. What the man said was true, if he lived, he would bring more hunters to her home. It was bad enough that Kolette knew about her place. If this man told her that they had fought against him... It did not matter that he was the one that had started the fight, to the church it was always their fault.
A lonely tear fell down her face as she balled her hands together again. This time, she did not hold back on the amount of energy she used, calling up the heat from her body to super heat the air that swirled in her hands. She would only throw it if the others looked like they needed help, and pray to whatever was out there that she hit her target. This would end up using up much of her energy if she did throw it, and would result in her wasting more time that she could spend looking for Cassandra.

Jumping at the sound of Abel’s voice so suddenly, Selyna backed off a bit thinking that if they had to kill the guy, she didn’t want to be the one to do it. Though looking at Taria, Abel, and now Kaori, she was sure she wouldn’t be asked to give the final blow. Her nerves were worst than they’d been a bit ago now as she watched unfold exactly how dangerous this “church” was, she was happy she’d yet to morph and decided she’d stay as she was until it was absolutely necessary to change. She looked at everyone’s faces and tried to guess at how often any of them had killed. To her surprise only Kaori’s face showed any sign of sadness or regret.

((Since I plan for these two to be around more, I'll have profiles fro them soon.))
The hunter snarled with rage his sword rising above his head as the wolf plowed down upon him. He screamed for his beliefs, he screamed for everything he believed in. He screamed aloud that the god may have mercy upon his soul. The wolf was there and he couldn’t move, he felt the sword cut flesh but he knew not how much as the bulk to the beast slammed against him and he went flying away, his body slamming the earth over and over as he rolled. Bones snapped and broke as blood issued like a fountain from his lips. The hunter kept rolling till he felt his head strike a rock violently. The hunter’s body jerked violently, blood dripping from countless wounds. The hunter looked up at the sky, tears filling them. He shuddered again.
“Please tell me I have done well, yeah gods.” The hunters’ eyes danced in sudden wonderment as out of thin air two head appeared, as if they had been hidden by invisible hoods. The air parted suddenly and two set of hands emerged. Darius looked up at the figures and smiled, seeing the symbols of the church around their necks. One figure was tall and his head was covered in red hair, the other was shorter, thicker and his skin was a dark black. Both men looked at him and smiled.
“Asta BVerniuos Benitios, Brother. Rest in peace.” Relief filled Darius and he slipped into the dark that awaited his weary body. Both of the two men look at the monsters before them and they both glared with vile looks of disgust.
“Be grateful heretics that we are not here today to spill thy blood!” Mused the red haired man.
“Indeed, by the god’s grace alone do we spare ye!” Replied the second, dark skinned man.
“We have come for our brother in faith. We take him from you now and leave you to your peace.” Once more the red hair man spoke. “But be you forewarned. We will be back for you heretics before long! Know that. If you thought it was bad when the hunters were here in this place, know that the Inquisitionists have finally arrived. By purest mind, does holy will be done!” The two inquisitionists wrapped themselves in their invisible cloaks once more. There was a crack and an explosion and when the smoke cleared, the body of Darius and the two invisible figures were no where to be seen.

Kaori stared at the place that the hunter had landed. Letting the energy that had been swirling between her hands dissipate, she sank to her knees, her whole body shaking. Slowly, tears filled her eyes and trickled down her face. She made no move to wipe them away, knowing that it was good for her to cry. Her eyes remained rivited on the spot where the other men had appeared before taking the hunters body. "Why can't they leave us alone..." she whispered to herself, thinking of her parents and wishing that they were here. Looking behind her, she stared at her house, not really seeing it.
In the back of her mind, she knew that she would have to leave the place that had been her home since birth. Looking around to the others, a frown creased her forehead. "I am sorry, I invited you all here so that you would be safe, and yet it seems that even my home is no longer a haven from the church. If you do not wish to stay here, I would understand. I am not sure where you can go but... it is obvious that to stay here would not be wise."
((Sweet, I look forward to getting those smile ))

Abel let no emotion wrinkle the stone complex of his pale face. Being caught slightly off-guard by Kaori's dropping to her knees, he stared wide-eyed for a moment before dropping down beside her, bending his lithe body over her he reached slowly out to touch her cheek, then over to wipe away a few of the tears.
After a moment he was still, then sat suddenly and swiftly back, his eyes watched her carefully, unsure of what her reaction might be to his bold actions. His gaze was wary for a moment before he looked at the others, thinking about what she had said. "Thats not true, Im so grateful." His voice was a soft musical murmur, he managed to keep himself from looking at her. "It's because we have an unfair advantage. . . or so it seems, to them atleast"
"I'm staying" His voice lifted now, to a certain, almost proud level, "wherever we might need to go, its not goin to matter, you've saved me once, I owe you. . . " His accent colored his words strangely, but it didnt take away from the fact of the point he was making.

Taria stared at where the three church men had disappeared for a long time, flanks heaving as blood dripped down her forepaw from a deep gash on her shoulder. It was only as Talia came forward and laid a gentle hand on her sister's back, did Taria finally shudder and revert back to human form. Clothes ripped, torn and smoke-blackened, shiny burned skin and small abrasions showing through, she nonetheless radiated an air of steel-hard hatred for the church-men, a silent promise in her eyes saying that this wasn't over.
However, then she turned back to the group, and her manner grew hesitant and unsure, yet striving to conceal that hesitancy since it sat ill with her normal garrulous personality. Her younger sister was a slight presence just beside her, yet supporting her.
"Look, uh..." she paused and seemed to rally herself. "I know you haven't known us that long or anything, but I seriously swear, if that creep was following us, we had no idea and we'd never have approached you guys if we'd known he was following us."
Talia nudged her sister sharply in the ribs and Taria barely kept from wincing. "Still, I guess if we did, we're really sorry for it and making you leave this place and all.... but, umm... to sorta make up for it, we'd kinda like to hang around.... only if you'll have us of course." she hastened to add, and received another sharp poke. She concealed her wince better this time and continued talking, "Also, uh... guess that's not the only reason we want to join up, but, well... you lot are the only other non-humans I've ever met. So... yeah, we don't mind, uh, I mean, we'd like to hang around if we could. But then if you'd prefer not to have us, we can be on our way no problem. We've got supplies and everything and we wouldn't want to inconvenience any of you."

Kaori looked up at Abel, slightly surprised by his comforting gesture. After a moment, she stood up and nodded, looking at the ground with a slight blush on her cheeks. She was glad that it was hidden by the darkness, the witch was not even sure why his words brought the blood to her face. "Thank you... You do not owe me, but I would be glad of your company, and your help, Abel."
When Taria spoke, she looked over at the child. Once she was done speaking, there was a comforting smile on Kaori's face. "I believe you. You do not have anything to worry about, you can come with us if you wish." Waving her hand slightly, she motioed for them to come towards her. "Let's get those wounds of yours cleaned up, it would not do to leave them unattended." As she turned towards the house, she gave a sad smile to Selyna and paused on the steps.
"Selyna? If you want to, you are welcome to join us. If not, I can try to point you in the direction of a few safe spots, though I have not been to them in a long while."

Selyna stood there bewildered by the recent events, unsure of how to react or what to say, but her attention was taken away from her thoughts when she heard Abel drop to his knees besides Kaori. Selyna made to move towards her hostess as well, but stopped abruptly when she saw the exchange between her and Abel. Frozen in her spot she didn’t know what to do or say, but she felt as if a knot had just formed in her throat and she didn’t know why. These feelings, thoughts, and random ideas were still very new to her and she decided this wasn’t the best place to decipher them. This anger is greatly misplaced, it would’ve been better a moment ago during the battle….. Continuing to stare in the direction of them, she was more so looking through the two than at them, Selyna half listened to Taria as she spoke, her eyes never moving from the spot even after everyone began heading for the house. Snapped out of her thoughts when her name was called, she looked startled at the fact that everyone had moved and she hadn’t noticed. Smiling at everyone, though for a noticeably shorter amount of time at Abel, she nodded vigorously before speaking, her voice cracking only for a moment. I’d love to stay with you guys, I’m honored you’d ask. Bowing her head a bit, she quickly made her way to the porch, careful to not look at or get to close to Abel as it seemed that caused the knot in her throat to grow. I know a bit of first aid if it will help.

"I'm fine!" Taria protested but allowed herself to be herded into the cabin after Talia jabbed the spot where she'd been wounded with devastating accuracy. She glared fiercely at her younger sister all the while though, and seemed embarrassed about all the fuss made. "Uh... thanks by the way," she belatedly added. "For letting us tag along. We promise not to be a burden or anything."
Talia bore a slight smile on her small face. Hunter not withstanding, she thought this was going wonderfully. Big sis needed to relax a bit and make more friends. This was a good first step.

Abel slid easily to his feet, following moments after Kaori had stood up and regained her composure. He turned slightly, listening as each had proffessed, just as he, their willingness to stay, and protect if need so be. His eyes clouded over once more, a stone wall blocking out the rest of the world. What he had just done, he still didnt quite understand himself.
He turned, finally, toward the house, wondering briefly if they would get on the move as soon as everyone was attendeed to. Possibly it was too early for that. . . He'd find out soon enough. Though soon he changed his mind, he turned with one wary glance toward Selyna, he couldnt help but about if her views on him had changed yet, toward Taria. It took few strides as he took advantage of his long limbs. In one quick movement, he bent slightly at the knees and gingerly lifted her, though his body was rigid, not at all comforting, but the sooner Kaori cleaned the wound and dressed it the better.
Was he actually worried about this perfect stranger? It did look bad though. . . Maybe they were right, it seemed possible that he was going back to that pack mentality.

Taria let out a most undignified squeak of surprise as Abel picked her up. She wasn't used to being manhandled, or being so easily lifted. It wasn't as though she was some tiny waif or anything. "Hey, let go! There's nothing wrong with my feet darn it!"
Talia hid a broad grin lest she incur even more of her sister's wrath. Amused as she was by the scene, she was also impressed by Abel's strength. There weren't many that could pick her big sister up like that. Talia trotted along and decided to heck with incurring more of Taria's wrath. This was simply too good an opportunity to miss.
"How sweet," she commented, sparks of mischief dancing in her eyes. "You should keep this one, big sis. He won't get scared off by your unwomanly ways. Just clunk him on the head quick, before he regains his senses."
Leaving her big sister spluttering with rage and struggling more valiantly than ever to squirm from Abel's hold, Talia almost, but not quite, skipped ahead to the cabin where at least there would be furniture to hinder Taria's efforts at vengeance.

Her admission of knowing first aid appeared to go unheard as she clenched her teeth and flushed a bright red, watching Abel pick Taria up caused Selyna to feel the same feeling she’d felt when she saw his interaction with Kaori. Even though she knew he was being helpful because she was injured, Selyna couldn’t help but be upset that she hadn’t been injured as well. Moving out of the way as Talia came running up to seemingly tease her sister, Selyna walked a little slower as she went deep into thought again. Maybe it’s because they’re all wolves…. Well Kaori isn’t, but she’s obviously a dog lover….. Perhaps she only extended the offer to be polite… Where would I go? Eyes glazed over from not blinking, she closed her eyes and shook her head as she made it through the door behind Abel and Taria. So many thoughts were running through her head she didn’t know how to deal with them or even what most of them were, the blood draining from her face just as quickly as it had appeared, Selyna made her way towards Kaori and quietly asked to be excused as she made her way into a random bedroom, closed the door, morphed into a cat, and began to vomit; hoping that in this form it would be easier to clean and not as noisy, making a mental note to herself, that obviously this would be her room. It wasn’t large by any means, but it was certainly nicer than what she’d had back home. As she finished regurgitating her food, she sat back on her hind legs and began cleaning herself, wondering how the others were fairing and how far her room was from everyone else’s. Looking around she spotted a face towel and decided once she was done cleaning herself up, she’d use that to clean up the mess she’d just made.
