[[Coming back from Thieve's Guild, Pg 1]]

Shyam hadn't been keeping very good track of time, but he hoped, as he wound his way through the streets of Durem, that the four hours hadn't come and gone yet. He hoped to find whoever he needed to at the Clock Tower.

He arrived just as two people were writing a note and getting ready to leave the Clock Tower.

"Are you two the ones who were with Akiya, the Dark-haired youth asked from the back of his Blue Chocobo? "The ones looking for Vincent?"

Quinn reached into one of her many pouches and pulled out a bit of gum, chewing it to a soft sticky mass. "Yes, just stick it to the wall," she replied, tearing the bit of gum in chunks so Odilen could use them to affix the note.

It was then, she heard the murmurs and the rumbling and finally a resounding, "LUNCHBOX!" as the world faded behind a mass of smelly, sopping fur.

"Llyan?!" Quinn mumbled from under the coeurl. Pulling her off her face, she looked around and spoted the one she had been missing, "JUNKAN!" Her excitement wavered, however, when she took in is flushed, feverish expression. "Oh honey, you look terrible! What happened?" she asked, motioning for him to sit and lean against the clocktower.

Her ministrations were momentarily interrupted by the arrival of a dark-haired stranger. "Why, yes, we are... who are you?"

Junkan roared loudly, which then turned into a hoacking, coughing, choking fit, as he forced himself to sit down ont he flagstones. That evil candy girl made him sick. It seemed obvious. Or at least to the mostly uneducated Druid. He was fine, her little messenger came to fetch him to a place. He got sick. Her fault.

Of course, she was distracted by a strange, dark haired man. As she spoke to him, he couldn't help but stare at the back of her head, feeling his hand rise, knowing it would be just too easy to smash her brains in to rid himself of the curse of sickness.

And he was getting hungry... dammit.

"Good, he'd made it just in time... and so had the Half-Ogre it seemed... but where was the angel," he mused.

"I'm sorry. My name is Shyam and I met Akiya at the Tavern. He mentioned that you were looking for Vincent so that you could locate a friend of yours. It just so happens that I had seen Vincent in this very town and came to help you find him. But first, would you mind me asking why it is that you're looking for him?"

Shyam dismounted petting the chocobo, and keeping his hand on the bridle, so she wouldn't wander away.

Quinn turned around to administer to Junkan, now that she was at least mostly sure that the new commer meant no harm. Llyan had taken up residence in Therin's thick mane and Therin was watching Shyam, so she was free to check out her dear friend.

In between checking to see if Junkan had a fever by pressing her lips to his forehead and thumbing back his eyelids to check his pupils, she responded, "We need to ask him how to find some one. She's even more ellusive than he is and finding him is the only way we could think of to find her... We just want to help our friend..."

She turned around and rifled through her saddlebags, comming up with the special treat she had procured for Junkan. It was a sucker, about as big as her face, and hundreds of meal worms were trapped within the candy casing. "Here!" she chirped, popping the sucker into Junkan's gaping mouth. "I got this for you!" She contined 'doctoring' him, quite happy just to have him near.

"I'm sorry you had to make such a long trip. When I sent Llyan for you, the weather was nice and I was at the tavern... But that was days ago and all things change, I guess."

"Gotcha. I just wanted to make sure that you meant him no harm.

"I spoke to some people at the last place that I saw him, but the last any of them saw of him was a few hours ago." Shyam tried not to make a face at the sucker that the female gave the troll. He just couldn't imagine the taste of meal worms and candy. Bleh!

"But they were able to tell me that he'd bought plenty of paper lanterns and something about him visiting an orphan in the Southern Suburbs of this city. So, those might be the best clues that we have to go on."

Gack! Bleh! Ack! He was choking, dying as the candy girl jammed something down his throat, only by pure bite reflex did he live, shattering the candy and preventing it from choking him. At least for a little bit, though it still went down rouch as he swallowed.

Why was she trying to kill me?!

As if sensing the half ogre's need at least for a little retribution to make things alright, Lilith hopped over to Quinny's face. She looked quite sickly herself, soaked fur, feverish. As she flew towards her face, she hacked up flem and germs at the candy girl. So she might learn not to leave people out in the rain!

Quinn clapped as Junkan ate the sucker. "I'm so glad you like it! I got that for you especially! I missed you so much!" She hugged him around his neck, tail flipping happily.

She was so happy, in fact, that Lilith's jump-and-hack did not damper her mood in the least. She simply grabed the familiar from the air and settled her amidst Therin's thick fur. Then, she scrambled up into the tower, zipping over to her house in Kyendi to grab some cough syrup and some vapor rub and scrambled back down.

She made Junkan drink the whole bottle, figuring that would be a good dose for someone his size and then she globbed liberal amounts of the vapor rub on his chest and under his nose. That should help him breath. At last, she stuck a sticker to his forehead for being good. A big pink heart that looked positively adorable there!

"Greetings," Odilen told the new arrival warily, then stared as the half-ogre lumbered up and was subsequently ministered to by Quinn. How very... very.... very bizzare.

She cautiously took a few steps away from Junkan and his familiar, lest she catch something from them. "Ah... the south, huh?" she said, quickly talking to the unfamiliar man in an effort to distract herself from the bizzare goings-on. "That's good, means we don't have to pick through the brothels."

The idea of going through whorehouses with Junkan in tow was... interesting. Subtly horrifying.

((Heading off to a doctors appointment, to get checked out... be back later... I think))

Shyam was equally disturbed by Junkan and Quinn's ministrations, but he tried his hardest not to stare.

"You were thinking of searching the brothels? Yeah, that would fit with what I know of him. Well, Let's start with what we know, and keep our eyes peeled for Paper Lanterns of any sort which might help us.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Shyam."

He was most definately, one hundred percent exhausted and would like nothing more than to go home, curl up in bed and sleep for a week. But not yet. His wings pushed through the rain continuously, pleased to see Durem finally coming into sight. Maybe the others had made it there by now.. that would be rather helpful... Steadily flying lower once he saw the Clock Tower, he lowered himself down to the ground, spying some others and Junkan... granted he didn't know his name but he had seen him around a lot. How did he know to come out to Durem? Had he been listening to his conversations in the back of the bar? Oh well, it didn't concern him either way.

Landing with a slight grunt to the ground, he folded in his wings and tossed his hair over his shoulder. "Masa and Zayn weren't at the tavern.. but I asked your friend, Quinn, to relay the message for me should she see them... crap I forgot to leave a note >>. Damn. But anyway, where are we off to?"

Coughing, sputtering, Junkan rolled onto his shoulder, curled up and feeling quite molested and violated by Quinn's unasked for ministrations. And to top it all off there was something sticky on his head, something that wsn't falling off no matter how much he shook his head.

And they were being beseiged by flying creatures, or so he thought as the creature landed and addressed Quinn.

They were going south? Right? He looked up at the sky, orienting himself and pulling himself south, away from Quinn before he got back to his feet.

So what were they doing again? Squishing elves?

Mirror blinked up from sleep, shaking the rain out of his eyes and giving a slight sneeze from his place on Therin. The Al Sylian, staying up all night to find Cordelia, ended up falling asleep five minutes before she came in and he had been resting his little body ever since. Giving a slight murmur, Mirror promptly slid to one side of Therin's body and fell unceremoniously into the dirt.

"Erk!"

Mirror picked himself up from the ground, suddenly awoken by the cold ground of Durem. Great. Now his clothes were, not only wet from the rain in Gambino, but slightly muddy too! He released an agitated sigh, trying to wipe off as much as he could before looking up at the others. Casting his eyes up and around him, the Al Sylian piped up, "When did we get here? Is this where we were sent to next? Looks like our party has gotten much bigger."

Sniffing the crisp air as the day wore on without pause, Mirror toddled over to Akiya and hid in his shadow, listening to the others as things were explained one more final time before they headed off.

"We're all going to be sick by the time this is over," Mirror prophecized, looking at the clouds hovering over Gambino some distance away.

Quinn's face fell a little as it finally sank in that Junkan wasn't as happy to see her as she was to see him. A slight melancholy overtook her once exhuberant demeanor and she contemplated the others before coming to a final decision. "I say we head south, since that's where the gossip leads us. As much as I was looking forward to meeting a real live prostitute, I think it will have to wait until another day. So, I guess we just ask around about orphaned children or an eccentric who likes paper lanterns and start there. Mirror, you can still ride Therin if you need to. He hardly noticed your weight at all the entire way here."

She moved away from Junkan, giving him his space and fondled the Aziraphale's ears like a sad child fondles a loved toy.

Noticing that Mirror was hiding in his shadow, he shifted a bit to look down at him. it was a nice feeling... made him feel included, which was always a nice thing to feel. Smiling down at him for a moment or two, he looked at Quinn with a shifted brow. She didn't seem overly happy about something.. but he felt it might be a bit too much to try to ask what was the matter. There were some things even he couldn't fix. "Then I suggest we get moving... the sooner we and find Vincent, the better I think..."
