((Ok to Dantooine we go)) "Going to hyper space in 5....4....3....2...1.....activating hyper dive now" Artemis said while activating his drive, but instead of reaching fast tha light speed his ship suffered a systems failure. "Sithspit!!" This is bad, I better think of something quick and get this drive working before that ISD rounds the planet

((Parallels? I dont' get it. I'm trying not to get to Yavin too quickly...))
Orrin typed in some coordinates, but wasn't quite sure on any of them.
"Was it Dantooine? Coruscant? Yavin? Bespin? God... I wish I could remember it straight..." He muttered to himself, before he remembered a crucial thing. He pulled his datapad out, and checked the coordinates of the planets he listed.
"I guess that looks the most familiar... I hope," He stated, before making the jump....

(( "Dantooine ... they're on Dantooine" I thought that was a nice nod to the OT. ^^ That and my inner fangirl liking the planet what with it's appearance in KotOR and all. ))
"Dantooine," Zendia sighed with relief. "Are we ready, Rusty?" she asked chipperly as she came clear of Tatooine's gravity well.
(( And, do I notice Art's predicament, or nay? If not, then I'm out of there! ))

((to clear things up, Y-Wings are primarily bombers, the torps arent standard))
Hauling out of the sands of Tatooine, Kefka blasted out of the atmosphere and into the vast entity called space.
"Dantooine huh?" He flipped a switch and had Icy plot a jump.
"Great, off to the other side of the galaxy." He flipped another switch to the HoloNet Radio, and was pleased to find that his favorite band Red Shift was on. Sitting back in his chair, he watched the stars rush by, and pulled out his handheld game.

((to clear things up, Y-Wings are primarily bombers, the torps arent standard)) ((NO, the Y-wing is classifed as a Attack starfighter, not a bomber as the dupes are. quoteing The new essential guide to vehicles and vessels "Light bombing runs and sugical strikes are also part of the Y-wings mission profile" so trops are the standard. Celestia=you should notice, as I was still brobcasting on the squad frequncy, but I'm going to fix it so don't worry. Also an other note, you can't get HoloNet while hyped, its phyiscly impossible.)) Artemis unstaped his harness and reached under the controll pannel. if the problems not here then I'm a sitting nurf. Ater a min. or so of searching, he found the problem. thank the jedi. A cabel had come loose from its socket during the fight, he quickly reatached it, straped in and hit the hyper drive just as the ISD came into range. Oh man, that was close he thought to himself as he poped out of Hyperspace a second later. He then imput the route to Dantooine and hit the hyperdrive once again. When he came out again hours later, Dantooine filled his entire view. Well it looks like this is where I'm going to be spendin gthe next few months, I only hope the beds are more confortable than the ones on Tatooine. "This is Em. 9 requesting aproach vector and landing site."

((ITS A BOMBER!!! When other than the DS run have you ever seen a Y-Wing used as a fighteR??? its called a Y-Wing bomber for a reason guys. anyways..))
Six naps, three games, one book, and three hundred songs later, Kefka came out of hyperspace in the Dantooine system, and the rest of the squadron popped out behind him.
"Emerald Squadron, this is Leader, form up for the approach." he commed to the squadron.
"Icy patch me through to command." Icy whistled and a staticky signal filled the comm, then cleared.
"Ground command, this is Emerald Leader, requesting clearance for my squadron to land."
"We're dropping shields Emerald Leader. Approach vector Alpha Niner Bravo.
"Acknowledged."
He opened a channel to the rest of the squadron and relayed the approach vector.

Blinking her icy blue eyes, Zendia awoke to Rusty informing her that the hyperspace jump is done, and that she and the rest of Em Squad are now in Dantooine space. It's beautiful! she thought, as she yawned lightly. "Right behind you, Em Lead," she said as she made some adjustments to her instruments, following Kefka's vector.
(( I suppose that, barring "radio" Kefka could have Icy equipped with the SW equivalent of an mp3 player ... ? ))

((Technically, the Y-wing isn't strictly a fighter. The Ywing is also a reconassaince craft, if the designation is the light payload with the sensor beacon attached in the right wing. It is used as a multi-purpose fighter, but essenctially is only considered a fighter in the earliest days due to the sole solidary fact that there were no other fighters in the rebellion. It wasn't until the Xwing that the Rebel Alliance actually had a dedicated fighter. The Y-wing is a bomber, hence the heavy shields and masive amounts of payload capability, but due to the nature of the fighting in the early days, it was forced to be a fighter role. If you want an excellent example of a real life version, we look to the F-111 Stealth fighter. It is technically a fighter that can be used offensively against other fighters, but the mission payload is better suited for bombing or strategic stealth.
To sum up: the Y-wing is a bomber, fighter, recon ship all rolled into one.
Unless of course, you get teh Heavy Y-wing. The one with four engines. That.... was strictly a bomber in nature, since the thing came out after the Xwing, and fighter roles were no longer needed in that essence.
And Celest: I thought about dantooine bc we are in the OT nearly. We'll be basically be going through the entire OT before this RP is retired.))
Orrin dropped out of hyperspace, and luckily, managed to survive. Of course, he had forgotten he was still a convict, and when landing, was immediately arrested.
"Aw hell no..."

((Not going to argue Y-wing point any more, Nelo basicly hit it on the head Quote: the Y-wing is a bomber, fighter, recon ship all rolled into one. )) As soon as he landed Artemis was working on his ship. Thats not going to happen again, I do not want that do happen again, so I'd better fix it myself than let those tecks get ahold of it. When he reached the engine Artemis was stuned at what he saw. Well that explains why trust was down. he reached into the engine a removed what appeard to be a round tube 5 inches in diamiter by a foot long. how did this get there?

Chapter 1: Dantooine
The peaceful meadows and tranquil streams make Dantooine a safe haven from the fighting. Situated near a river is the Alliance HQ, a large building with a huge hangar. With most squadrons out, Ruby and Emerald are left to protect HQ...

((gee... that last line isn't a hint... but wait... Dantooine was never discovered by the Empire until it was abandoned. I mean, even for AU, that's pretty crucial, and would change a lot, if they attacked Dantooine...
and also, aren't I Em9?))
"R5, no... listen, I have absolutely no communications!! I... I don't care that you know what they're saying, I need to... hey!" Gendis was getting nowhere. It was lucky he managed to find out from his stubborn little droid that they were going to Dantooine. He hadn't been able to get anything else out of him. His Y-Wing's comm array had been singed in the battle, and as a result, he had absolutely no way of contacting anyone else. Apparently, his droid had his little claws in all of Emrald's frequencies, but refused to let him utilize that.
Gendis was getting desperate. "Can you give me a /hint/?!" he asked the little droid, who seemed to be getting an unnatural amount of enjoyment out of the pilot's consternation. "What? Damn you, I /know/ we're supposed to land on Dantooine you little... scrap bucket! I just need to know where the hell we're setting down!!" Sithspawn, Gendis thought, now he'll never tell me. Oh well, I'll have to try it by visually following everyone in.
So, calling on years of experience, Gendis manually followed the other fighters in and set down in the hangar. Upon landing, he immediately kicked his canopy open, jumped out, and found a random wrench, which he promptly threw at his R5 unit.

Setting down, Kefka jumped out, threw off his flightsuit and jumped into the 'fresher. Once out, he wandered around the HQ till he found the Starfighter's Lounge. Walking in, he found it filled with red uniformed goons. Ruby Squad.
"Well, well, it's Dragoon. What happened to Teal 7, why is he with those Emerald losers now? I thought you were better than that Dragoon. But I guess I was wrong." sneered Malic, a Ruby Pilot who served on Teal Squad.
"Shut up, at least I'm leader now."
Malic's eyes lit up, and he gestured for three of his goons. One of them raised a fist, and a fight was on.

When Gendis reached the lounge, he was still pissed as hell. The R5 survived several smacks with the wrench, so he gave up and still held the tool in his hand. He smiled upon seeing the brawl. He raised his makeshift weapon, then joined in.

"Thought I was gonna lose this one by numbers, Orphan." Kefka screamed over the riot, while landing a punch square in the face of Malic.
Suddenly, he turned and released a flurry of punches on another goon, who clutched his shoulder and retreated.

"Hah! You kidding? We Emralds gotta look out for each other!" Gendis shouted, finishing the final one with a bash to the head. The goon fell to the floor, bleeding heavily and unconscious. "Whoops... looks like we might've overdone it a bit, Psycho..."
