I never thought about naming my clarinet. However, I did name my guitar Penny Lane.

kuwaji-chan ummmm....acctually i just thought today...that i should name my instrement but i'm not sure what to name her.... ive had her for 2 years and i still havent named her!!! i feel like a horrible daddy cry !!!! can you guys give me some name ideas for her?? ohh... by the way shes a trumpet!!! You gotta think about how your instrument acts. My piccolo is named Kujo because he's mean to everyone but me and if he had teeth he would definately bite. Plus, he's just that gangsta. ^_^

To remember the seniors of my sax section my freshman year, i names my alto saxophone Danthony, combining the two names of the seniors XD

I'm in the process of picking names for my instuments... Anyone want to help, go right on ahead!
Jupiter Flute: Something Spanishy/Latin. I'm in the process of thinking Callista or Esperanza. Clear sound and very jazzy when I want it to be. Feels more... forgien.. than my other flute, in the culture sence of the word.
Old Flute: The old clunker.... I always called it Alpine, since that's the brand. Very odd flute. Clear upper range, mucky yet rich lower... and the Footjoint doesn't fit in the case right. Perhaps some funky French name... or Japanese. Or Betty. But that doesn't fit.
New Alto Sax: I'm still getting used to it... I think it's more masculine though. Nice tone... but killer on the chops.
Old Alto: Not the loudest horn you'll ever hear, and it has it's other tonal issues. But it does play real easy. It has a problem getting enough sound out of it... like it's shy or something. I'm teaching my little bro on it.
Vito Clarinet:... Well, it's really my little bro's, but I mess with it as often as he does, and I can play it better than he can. He's convinced it's name's Clary, but I'm trying to persuade him to something classier.
But I always call the piccolo I play Dog-Whistle. It suits it.

I have named my clarinet after two guys that I like. Nick Bloom. Nick because of this really hott guy in my biology class and Orlando Bloom of course!

My first french horn didn't really have a name, but my mother would (lovingly) refer to it as "the tuba" when the odd shape got in the way. We traded it in for a lightly used yamaha which has recently been dubbed Ducky. The name was mostly because when I was really young, for some reason I was brainwashed into thinking the duck in Peter and the Wolf was played by a horn instead of an oboe, and even after my musically-deprived family knew better, the name stuck.
That, and Wolf just isn't as perky a name as Ducky.
