I am a senior in high school and I'm a trumpet section leader. Thing is I never bothered to buy another trumpet (although I came close to this black one w/ gold detailing.. too expensive though) Anyway, thing is a lot of guys who play seem to think it makes them better than anyone else. Maybe i'm just saying this out of spite for those I know with it that constantly brag about it, but if you suck before you get silver, you are going to suck after lol. About 4 kids in my section have silver trumpets vs. my piece of s**t, but I can still whoop their a**. (not bashing all silver trumpets of course, some actually ARE very good, but just not the ones i'm thinking of lol)
Oh well. <3
I prefer to use my money for .. say.. a car!

Dude, I suck and I play a silver Yamaha trumpet.
I technically don't own it ;cause it's a school instrument (my adopted baby), but I find it easier to reach high G and beyond with it that with the gold Bachs and beginner Yamahas.

Ikalos Hey, i have a blessing trumpet. I also have a very important question. While I'm playing in school, my 3rd valve slide keeps falling off my trumpet each time i kick it out. Try finding a brand of slide grease that's thick. That might keep it in place. It's what my private lessons teacher had me do when my second-valve slide kept popping out. If that craps out, hairties work wonders ^.^ (don't try rubber bands. They break after a while, and can leave black marks on the silver.)

There are 19 Trumpets in my HS band and its awesome.. We think were the best which we are lol.. I love my "tumpy" thats his name. Hes a little old and beaten up but i love him all the same..
