- - - Stepping into the ball, already at full swing, they looked around cautiously. their outfit was matching with their mask, maybe with less flowers adorned. But even now, as they started to walk around, something startled them.
A tap on the shoulder, a whisper on the ear, and then nothing.

- - - Well, it was going to be -some- kind of shindig at least, and they were almost excited. There was all sorts of trouble to cause at these things, and they wanted to start right away.
But, it would be rude to ignore the craftsmanship of some of the masks around here.
"Quite exquitiste." They off-handedly remarked, a smile crossing their lips as their eyes roamed the other's body. For all the other knew, they could be referring to the suit, the lovely star-shaped mask...or, well, their body. Hah.
- - - These things were such a bore, but they had been ordered to go, and so, they went. They had only been there for a few moments when they were accosted.
Bobbing for apples? After they'd managed to get dressed up? No thank you.

- - - Dancing! Tonight was all about dancing! Late to the party as they were, they were utterly charmed by the environment and the people. And the other masks...Wow!!
Booker Smiled and lifted a hand to touch at his mask, It was a copy of his own fabulous fluffy Mustache but with eyeholes cut out! "Thankyou!" He laughed a little "I was hoping It would make other nightmares smile!" he was feeling very good about the effort he had gone too to create it!
- - - Well of course the first thing they're gonna do is look for someone to talk to! they were so excited to see others that they somehow managed to trip and fall over a vesperkitty!
Dax's ear twitched. "You talking to me?" That was a hell of a mask though. This one must have gotten it made specially, or made it themselves, unlike Dax, who had just scooped up the first one he found. He awkwardly scratched the back of his head. "Uh, thanks, I guess. You make that mask, or...?" He had a funny feeling that he was being looked over. It was just a bit unsettling, because he knew his body was far from perfect (even on days when he skipped a shirt). He'd been teased about it before. It wasn't fun.
Ugh. They really didn't want to be here, especially not with the ridiculous mask they'd been given. Well, if there was any consolation, at least they'd walk out with a cute-looking jelly...

Oh...oh dear. Maybe they'd chosen the wrong mask for this kinda thing...But at least they were sort of correct, and as a result decided to hurridly nab a plushie off the nearest table. Their son would love it!
- - - "I did, yes. One of my...many, extraordinary talents, you see." Their voice was as charming as could be, even if it was a bit tonally off from their mask. "Whoever did yours must have had some small talent, at least."
A soft giggle later, they made a small bow, a flourish, and then went back to examining him. "And you look rather nice, yourself. Overall, that is."
Following his mother in, AJ had decided to adorn a mask not unlike Darth Vader's. It was funny, it didn't spook the rammykin from bumping into him!

Ooh, she couldn't wait to get back home and tell all about this place! How the masks looked, how the people danced...and how a flitterrat just happened to appear in her pocket!
Ah, yes, that smile was worth a million words. "Don't forget them on the way out," Kelvir said, still grinning right back. He gave Carmen's hand a gentle squeeze and was about to lead her to the dance floor when her attention seemed to be directed elsewhere. Who was it that had taken her eyes off him? Competition! "Hmm? Them? No, I'm afraid I don't know them." He had to think of a way to get her attention back. Not like he really needed to hoard attention, but hey, he wanted to leave an impression.
Cassiel gasped. Why, this masquerade was going to be amazing! They wanted to go home and write about it right now!...Well, after they found a nice home for the nezu that happened to land on their head.

Well...This was wonderful. It was calming to see the bodies moving about in such nice patterns. The music was interesting, and the food...Mmmm... Now...What he really wanted to do was find someone to dance with, if even for a moment. Besides, one night wouldn't last forever.

While she was still set on doing things to make her body tougher...A girl could take a moment to relax, right? And, well, letting loose could be fun, right? So, she cast her glance around for some unwitting SOB to rope into a dance.
