Infirmary DefenseThe thing stopped attacking and collapsed with a horrendous shriek. Nudging it with one smoking boot, America made her way back into the infirmary area, stripping out of her disgusting, goo-caked clothes as she went. "SHIELD'S LOW!" The Moon called out. Not an emergency, but if there was another attack, she'd have to use her charges as it was, and that would get ugly. She also needed new clothes. There was that. The zombie was finished off with a couple of well placed hits; Noah watched the corpse (re-corpse?) for a moment, until he was satisfied that it wasn't going to get back up. Then he crouched by the fountain to wash the remnants of the stinging goop off his arms and face. "You were on fire," he pointed out reasonably to Al. "And also covered in acid, both those things were gonna be a problem, okay." "We're getting kind of low, like not emergency low but Laz's shield feels kinda thin and I don't like it," he reported. "Um, we have a healing charge and I have two bandages if anybody needs them." Horace was getting samples and photos, and Noah felt briefly embarrassed that he hadn't gotten to that first. But he'd had acid on his face. That was kind of pressing. "Maybe we should go back? Make sure everyone's okay and everything, I mean, what if another one of those," and he trailed off, because even just saying it felt kind of like jinxing it. HP: 14/40 Charge: 3/3 Buffs: Extra item use: +1 use of runic item Melee weapon: Double damage against armoured type Items: x2 bandages

Shu made short order of the monster a good solid squish splattering it like the first one, though this one was less of a water ballon. "C'mon Shu, forgive me for the glasses thing?" He looked over pouting softly at her, "I almost got sliced and diced you can't stay mad at me right?" A small smile broke his lips as he turned to ace resting Sylvia over his shoulder, her slender blade pointed down his back. "Thanks, you learn to get better with a scythe over time, the trick is landing the sweet spot and not hitting them with the pole. Sylvia gets around that by breaking apart. Makes her good for mid range and close range."
Harrison pinged them all a moment later, the news wasn't good, mostly warnings and things to be worried about. Suddenly all the spitter goo they had been hit with seemed a lot more dangerous. Turning to Jordan he shook his head, "I'm a bit low, but I'm still good for a bit. That b*****d did a number, but I'm okay."
Turning to the voice behind the door he added another tidbit, "Don't worry, we're the good guys. We just took out a few of the zombies to get here, but we do need to know if anyone was bitten like Jordan asked."Roland Stats: HP: 26/50 DMG: n/a Buff: Not rolled for yet. Announcement
The all-too familiar by now tone of the PA system's jingle went out across the mall.
"Eve-e-ning shoppers!" Rep's voice sung out "Since so many of you are busy you might not have noticed it's starting to get real dark out there. You might want to be careful when the light starts to go. I mean, the lights are on in here now, but they might need to go out at some point. Ha ha ha. Positive thinking will overcome all things! It's working out so nicely for you all so far!"
"First things first, well done Mimsy and Robert for using the power of relationships to overcome the human centicle. Or well, maybe. I mean, you got killstolen. You know how those RUSSIAN SNIPERS ARE. You better not be botting out there Kostya, that's not fair game at all ha ha ha ha! But so much teamwork all around. I'm proud of you all, we truly are a wonderful organisation. Organise-ation. Ha ha ha!" He thumped the table with his fist
"Also a big nightmare mall welcome to our new combatants Joy, Leslie and Felicia, good luck to all of them! Ha ha ha though Leslie doesn't seem to need my wishing him good luck with so much wonderful, delightful teenage angst behind those blows. Good job guys! Congratulations on that kill too Dakota and Molly, I know what its like being caught in a fight with you two, it didn't stand a chance!"
He hopped to another thought almost audibly, still perky and sing-song as could be."Good job as always America, I would expect nothing less from my favourite redhead!"
He turned more serious. "Ro, calm down it is only a coat, there are more important things out there like love, friendship and having a really good time. And Jordan Jordan, Jooooordaan," he said scoldingly "you know how I feel about you fraternising with people and their curvy weapons. Bring me a present, bring me those civilians, and I might forgive you, I will be so happy. Bring me the little girl too you other guys, we are getting them all out of here before they can become more of a problem!"
He sung the closing jingle himself before the click came and it started in earnest.

To say that she was lingering like a vulture around the entrance of the camp would have been incredibly rude and incredibly accurate. Emelina had strapped a kit to her body for efficiency and, really, in case she needed to dart out into danger. She wanted to be a field medic and that meant dashing out into the field when needed. Yet there was apprehension keeping her back, for now, because this was her first real mission. When the full Moon Hunter with the red hair came, covered in slime, into the infirmary tents it gave Lina her chance to swoop. And swoop she did, immediately tugging on America's coat so that she knew to stand still over here. Runes were applied carefully for she didn't quite have the skill of some of the other healers, taking perhaps longer than others, but with great success. When the shield issue was addressed there was the issue of clothing which had her biting her lip. "Uhm...I think someone hauled boxes out of a store down here on the first floor. If you want to riffle through them. I'm Emelina, by the way." Not the best place for introductions but this was one of her own team, another Moon. Couldn't hurt to say hi.

"Just this time, you're pardoned, Roland." The girl beamed at the hunter, while the tall Sun trainee hit the door and got responses back. From the muffled conversation behind the door, they could realize there were more than one suspected to be citizens. To make it more convincing, Shu joined in the team. "Hello there, how many of you are there? Like my team said, we're here to get you out safely." Her voice stayed calmed and amiable. "You guys must be scared, it's alright now. We'll take you to somewhere safe, free of those things." The voice that sounded like harmless little girl continued to talk, "So can you be co-operate and answer our questions that we can understand your situation better?" The tall man didn't ask any question but knocked on the door, "Could you open the door? I need to clean up Catherine before she goes onto a rampage. You know, ladie's grumble could last long and be destructive." "When you're hesitating, we are wasting time on you which instead we might rescue more people, you know." From behind the door there was more murmured bickering, it seemed the man with the deeper voice was the more suspicious of the two, the one crying appeared to be a woman.
"There's four." said the higher voiced man who was closer to the door. "Three adults and a child."
"Don't TELL THEM THAT." barked the other man "How do we know its not the ******** terrorists? How do we know this isn't some kind of ******** Obama conspiracy with testing on people, you saw those things!"
"None of us have been bitten." the higher voiced man repeated. "I want out of here. I want to see my family again."
"Well my family IS RIGHT HERE." said gruff!man. "I want to protect them!"
"Please let us out." the higher man went on. "We blocked the door but its jammed too, one of those things bashed into it a few times trying to get in here."

Coat and bundle of clothes were dropped into a makeshift hazardous waste container that was really just a mall trashcan and then America stood obediently where she was sent, watching quietly as the other woman worked. The bandage was effective, impressively so for a trainee, and as she exhaled in pleased relief, America told her as much. "That was a good one, better than I ever manage gotta say." Grinning, she put hands on hips, and added, "I'm America Jones, thanks for the heal up." The box was given a glance, "Gosh I hope they have my colors, though." Eyes slid toward the defenses, and then America was digging through it. "That spitting ******** was nasty business, hope we don't get too many more or that barricade isn't gonna last near long enough." HP: 20 godbless u lina (melee)

"We'll escort you to a safer place," Jordan said to the door. "You may have heard the announcement; we're not sure what's going to happen when night falls, and there's no guarantee that something else won't break the door open. Please get back to the opposite wall and let me know when everyone is safely away from the door; get behind something if you can. I'm going to be breaking the door down to get you out, and I don't want to hurt anyone doing it." He spoke firmly and evenly, a tone that brooked no argument.

Roland moved closer to Shu patting the smaller hunter on the sholder with a smile as he was forgiven. His weapon rested against his shoulder as he spoke to the door.
"We've got four of us out here as well, if the child needs help we can have one of us carry her to get you out faster." There was a loud shout from the other man and Roland only frowned, "The stuff out here isn't a terroist plot, it's actually probably a lot worse. If you can unblock the door we can break it down and get you out but you need to do it now we can't hold off these monsters forever and its getting darker. These things get even worse when it's dark out, trust us, we've seen it before." that was a half life, Ro read the reports but wasn't there the last time they delt withthis kind of thing.

There was a slight pause in the carnage as Peyton looked up towards the speakers above them, brows drawn in and gaze narrowed slightly. "Set himself on fire," she mumbled to herself, lip curling slightly as the rest of her team jumped into action. Oliver in particular seemed fueled by the observations of their cheerful radio personality. Pulling out bandages to help patch up Milo. It was Finn though, diving into the action, that earned the curious look from Peyton. "You should have said you wanted to play too." The Sun was a front line soldier, but if their Moon wanted to run a little offence she could adapt and offer him a little cover. The brute of an infected had knuckled the Moon back with an almost casual swing of it's arm, but this time when Finn charged in he'd find his path open. Peyton darting in a little before him to catch one ham hock of a fist with both dainty dangers before knocking it away with a hard kick. "Oliver, take a moment and get yourself patched up too, ya?" HP: 52 DEF: Defending Finn for 9 CHG: 3/3 Quote: Sun Hunter: +4 atk to all mobs. Light Weapon: Double damage against SPEEDY types!

A voice manifested nearby: quiet and drawling and a little bit nasal and, to America at least, woefully familiar. "Have we not," said Taym, thrusting a coat at her--not his uniform; not the coat of Communism Crushing, but the beaten-up thing he wore on the sort of half-day missions he'd just been delivered directly from, having arrived back at the Island to a sort of control chaos at the portal--and tossing his hair off his forehead, "had a conversation about your proclivity for running around naked in public?" He jerked his chin at Lina, the closest she was apparently getting to a greeting. Not much time for pleasantries. Not much time for joking around, either, but Taym already looked vaguely ill, his jabbing one-liner a weak cover for it.

There was a sound of a hurried scuffle and further peevish bickering behind the door and then stillness before someone called out. "All clear!"
Inside the bathroom was surprisingly normal looking and shielded by one of the stalls were the civilians, a middle-aged looking woman who was holding the hand of a little boy who looked no more than twelve, a tall bearded man with broad shoulders and a thinner man with spectacles and a suit. They all peered out with the same fearful uncertainty at the hunters.
When the debris cleared enough to be safe, the bearded man stepped forward in a show of bravado. "Who the ******** are you all? Whose authority is this, what is happening! I demand to know!"

Emelina was young enough and new enough that the compliment from a full Hunter went straight to her head. Not in the bad way where you'd take stupid risks that you couldn't afford, but the good way in that it made you want to keep doing well. Perhaps to try just a little bit harder to maintain competency. The name made her laugh a bit, a little bit of awe in her voice. "That's one of the best names I've ever heard." America. "Too bad you're not European." Then it would have been even better. Taym's interruption spoke clearly, to the dusky-skinned medic, that this was not the time for her to keep talking. Instead she just quietly nodded in return and applied yet another rune. This one wasn't as effective but it still felt like a solid application. It wasn't as easy to heal someone when they were moving, digging through boxes, as it was when they were standing still. rejam almost tagged your AIM handle...
