The echoes were different coming from this direction, but Jacque had a decent idea of where to go to get to the pokecenter. He could pick up on the smells and sounds, they were all still pretty similar, and recognizable landscapes, not to mention, just simple memory of retracing his path. Still, though, as he drew closer, he released Scy, just so that he could be sure, and followed the scizor into the pokecenter.
Turning, he gestured Dewott over, handing him and his pokeball to the Nurse behind the counter, so that she could heal him from his battle with Viola. While that was being done, he went to go and get some food for the crew.

Once Dewott was all healed up, the crew set up to eat, Jacque making sure everyone was fed, and giving Dewott an extra pile of poffins to reward him for his victory at the gym. Mime Jr and Ralts had telepathic competitions with their food, trying to levitate it and see who could eat the most without using their hands. Jay didn't seemt o really notice, though; he was eating in darkness, so to speak, without he or Zoey trying to give off echoes. Oh, he still got impressions from the things he heard, the reverberations, the sounds of footsteps, or someone shuffling about. The change in volume and what few echoes he did get simply from the noises around him, but the picture of his surroundings was far less detailed and tracked than when he was trying to pay attention. For now, he was simply relaxed.
After a while, everyone had finished eating, and Jay got up, gathering everything together. It seemed everyone wanted to stay out of their pokeballs for now, so he let them, grabbing his bag, and heading for the exit. He would probably need to find out where the next gym was...

On his way out, someone side stepped in front of him, intentionally, given their stance. With Zoey on his shoulder, even with his head bowed, so that his hat covered his face, he could tell the person was facing him, so he lifted his head a bit when they spoke. "Hey there, I see you have a lot of pokemon with you! Ya interested in a battle?" Jacque raised an eyebrow, then lifted his head up more, smirking at the young man. "Sure thing," he replied. He could sense the man's posture change, probably at noticing he was blind, but didn't give him a chance to back out, stepping back. "Ya ready?" he asked, then lightly tapped his pocket, "Yer up, Quena."

Dizzy eyed, Mime Jr dropped back, sitting and swaying, but still conscious. Just barely. "That wasuh mighty good puhformance there, Mahmy," Jay remarked, walking over and kneeling down to place a hand on her head. She still seemed to be getting her wits about her, so he turned his attention to the challenger, who was returning his own pokemon. "Thank ya fer thuh battle, Rick," he remarked to the man, who had introduced himself during the battle. The trainer nodded, and though Jay couldn't see his expression, he got the sense that there was a bit of uncertain reluctance in his opponents actions. Was it being beaten by a blind man, a pink pokemon, or having come so close to victory that was knocking him off his game so much? Or was it something else entirely.
Regardless, Jay straightened up, returning the worn pokemon and turning for the pokecenter, only to get stopped by a young boy bounding over. "Hey mister! Can I battle your Mime Jr? I wanna see how my pokemon stand up to him!" he asked eagerly. Jay scratched the side of his head. "Uh, sure kid. Lemme heal 'er up and ask 'er if she's willin' ta battle again, though," he replied. The kid blinked, but then grinned, smiling and nodding eagerly.
One trip to the pokecenter later, and Jay stepped out, Mime Jr running along after him. "Alright! Who wanted to try and battle me, the great, fierce Mime Jr!" she bellowed heroically, placing her hands on her hips. The kid laughed, bounding over, and quickly sending out his first pokemon.

'M sure ye'll get 'em raised quick tho," Jay replied, patting Mime Jr on the head as she came happily waddling over. He gave another nod to the boy, then applied a few potions to get Mime Jr all healed up. Heck, at this rate, though, he almost might as well stick around and see if there was some more battling to do.

It didn't take long after his pokemon were all ready to go that Jacque was confronted again, by a pair of twin girls, by the sound and shape of it. "You defeated our brother!" they chanted together, "Now try and defeat us!" Jacque raised his eyebrows a bit. "Alrigh'... but ah ain' gonna letcha use two against one," he stated. They nodded and he stepped back, sending Quena and Mime Jr out. They needed the training the most. Well, technically so did Ralts, but... given the pokemon was staying about as far away as possible, it didn't seem he really wanted it.

Giving a two fingered farewell salute to the disappointed twins, Jacque shifted his focus to his two pokemon, looking a bit thoughtful. "C'mon, let's goin' getchy'all healed," he recommended, turning and going for the Pokecenter. It didn't take long to renew them to full health, but instead of wandering out and risking getting challenged yet again, he dropped into a nearby booth, his pokemon clamoring in to join, with Quena snoozing in his pocket again. Even though she'd had but a minute's rest, he reached into his pocket, gently fishing her out and placing her on the table, unaware-- or likely just ignoring, since she was practically radiating it-- of the expression of disapproval and hate. Not real hate... but grumpy hate.
"After all that battlin', ah was thinkin' we might wanna look into y'all's movesets," he started, Scizor standing by the table, with Dewott beside him, and Ralts and Mimey on the other side, and Jesse on the back of the bench behind them, "'M perty sure there're sum ahtems ah can get ta teach y'all new moves, like ah did with Scy 'n Dewott 'fore all them fairy types showed up-- no offense, yew three," he added, "But b'fore ah go 'n get 'em, ah thought we could all jus' sit down 'n' take a look'et what our options're." He waited until there seemed to be some consensus, before pulling out a big book, recently updated, with brail, so that they could go through their options, and start making a plan.

It took a little while, but they were able to at least sort out a good amount of each of the pokemon's movesets, except Ralts who seemed less than enthused about battling in general. Not everything they needed could be got right away, but Jacque was able to find some heart scales at a nearby shop, and bought enough to teach Scizor and Mime Jr an attack, and teach Quena two. He figured it would probably be good to have them practice using the attacks a bit, and headed off for a clearer area, so they wouldn't damage any buildings, Zoey still squeaking on his shoulder.
Scy seemed to get a handle of his newly acquired attack, Ominous Wind, fairly easily, but stepped back to oversee the other two. Mime Jr had a bit of trouble with Icy Wind, puffing out breaths of nothing, looking like a kid trying too hard to learn how to whistle. Finally she would get a puff of frost, then, after a few more tries, a mist, and finally she was able to produce a chilling gust of air, cheering and parading around in joy-- only to get smacked, hard, by a newly acquired Iron Tail attack from Quena, who was annoyed at the noise. Jay remained laying where he was, hat over his face, not at all interfering as the two pokemon started rolling around and fighting. Mostly because he knew Scy had it covered.
And indeed, using his new attack, the Scizor stepped forward, hitting the two with a blast of air that separated them. Jacque straightened up from where he'd been laying, nto even turning towards them as he returned the two. Yawning, he stood up, nodding his head back towards town. "Think s'bout time we go get ourselves some sleep. We can head out ta thuh next gym after," he decided, returning most of his pokemon except Scy and Zoey, and letting Jesse stay out to trail along behind as he headed back for the pokecenter.

After a while of searching around the city, the only thing that Du was able to really find was a copy of Coordinator Culture and that was about it. He had started to try and find some fabrics and what not for his costume but he just couldn’t find what he wanted, the material was either too dark, too light or wasn’t the quality that he was looking. If he was going to enter a beauty contest, not just any material would be enough. If he wanted to win a beauty contest, he would have to emulate beauty itself. He was still leaning towards a Victorian inspired costume, but he was waffling back and forth about making it a dress or something more masculine and fitting for him. There was a little bit of a conflict going on inside him again, he knew that he was okay at the Tanabata festival, but there were so many things to do that nobody was paying attention to him so he could slip in and go in unnoticed for the most part, but now that he was going to be in the limelight, he wasn’t sure if this was going to work the same. It was amazing how fear could drain any hope and ambition out of someone. After a while of searching, Du found his way to the pokemon center, if there was any sort of information about Coordinating around here, there would be connections here. Du wasn’t getting his hopes up about finding anything about Coordinating here, the region wasn’t where the contests were, so he doubted that there would be much in the way of contest stuff here. It was a little discouraging but Du accepted his losses and knew that he was going to be heading off to Sinnoh soon, and that region was getting set up for contests, from what he understood, so there would be a lot more in the ways of Coordinator accessories. He would get his pokemon here, then move on to where the good stuff was. His pokemon were not needing to be healed, but he did get them something more to eat rather than just the fruit dumplings that they had been eating lately. His whole party was eating at the table with his pokemon while he looked through the magazine that he got recently, he was wondering if he would see any articles from Isis in there? It was kind of fun to think that maybe he could just happen upon a few of her articles and suggestions after having just met her personally. Dumuzi decided to take his time and read things closely so that he could absorb the knowledge that was being offered to him with these magazines, he made a few notes to follow up on and learn more about later on. It was so interesting, and kind of fun to think and plan up various things about something so new to him.

One quick trip to the pokecenter later and Jay decided to lay down for a nap with his pokemon. They took up housing on the upper level, in the back, everyone out of their pokeballs. Jay was reclined back on one of the beds; Jesse was curled up beside him, one large stinger over his abdomen, the other tucked under herself alongside him-- a bit uncomfortably close and pointy sharp, but he clearly didn't care as he snoozed away, hat over his face. Quena was out of his pocket, curled up on his chest instead, snoozing, and Scy was sitting on the floor, leaning back, still propped up against the wall, but appearing quite asleep as well. Zoey was nuzzled up against Jay's neck, and Dewott... was sleeping, solitary, on the neighboring bed. Mime Jr and Ralts were cuddled up together underneath Jay's bed.
And were the first to wake. Their giggling as they played around stirred the others, rousing Jacque from his nap, and subsequently waking the remaining pokemon. Jesse blinked her bug eyes open, then buzzed her wings, lifting herself back and off the bed, landing on the ground so that Jay could get up. He lifted a hand to help Quena back into his pocket as he sat up, and another to keep Zoey from falling, yawning as he did. He moved to grab his hat, which had fallen to his lap, and placed it back on his hand, getting to his feet and rubbing the back of his neck.
It was probably a good time to head out for the next badge. He would have to figure out where to go, though... Best to ask downstairs. Returning Dewott, who still seemed to be half asleep, and Jesse, who, despite seeming to have gained comfort with her wings to a slightly greater degree, still seemed adamant about walking, he headed down.
While he went to Nurse Joy, though, Mime Jr wandered off, waddling away from her trainer. "M-Mimey!" Ralts whined, hurrying after her, reaching to try and grab her and pull her back to her trainer. He couldn't seem to catch up, though. Jay turned his head, hearing the pokemon's cry, though he didn't catch the telepathic, translated part. "Mime Jr, where'n the hell d'you think yer goin?" he asked, recognizing the pokemon's pitter pattering footsteps as she wandered further. He frowned as she ignored him, Zoey turning to squeak in that direction and give him a better picture of what his pokemon was up to.
By then, Mime Jr had made her way to a table with a boy... girl? A person, and their pokemon. "Hi there!" she greeted the trainer, hopping up and putting her hands on the table, leaning forward to keep herself up, her legs dangling off the side of the table. She had a big smile on her face as she looked at Dumuzi. "Do you like fairy types or something? You seem to have a lot!" she commented. At least... all the ones the person had out were fairy types, from what she could tell.

Dumuzi was enjoying her slow read through the magazine that he had gotten, He had returned two of his pokemon into their pokeballs after they had finished their meals and let the trio that he had come in with out in the open. Tenanye was having fun with Niamh, who was using her feelers in some sort of game where she would allow the little egg pokemon to catch them sometimes, but not others. In a way it kind of reminded Dumuzi of a cat letting a kitten us their tail to practice their pouncing, it was sort of a game but at the same time it was also something that Togepi seemed to be learning a bit from. Du mused at the notion for a bit before returning to his reading. Titania seemed to be meditating on Du’s lap, or perhaps she was catching a quick nap and decided to disguise it as some sort of spiritual channeling or something. It was hard for Dumuzi to tell at this point, not that it bothered Dumuzi one way or another at this point in time. It was about then they were joined by someone else’s pokemon; a Mr. Mime Jr, who was very curious about the fairies that were surrounding Dumuzi. Du looked over at Mimey for a moment, a bit surprised to see a rather bold and adventurous pokemon come to investigate something that caught her eye. It reminded Du of a curious child who had a strong enough personality to come over and ask about things. Du could pick up on the fairy nature of the pokemon right away, he smiled warmly at the pokemon as he answered her question. ”Why yes, I do like Fairy type pokemon, very much so, in fact. I plan to collect a whole team of them and take them to Sinnoh where I’m going to enter them in pokemon contests.”That should satisfy the curious question for a little while. ”How about your owner, do they like Fairy types as much as I do?” Dumuzi didn’t expect the answer to be yes, or perhaps he did, though imagined that the trainer with this particular pokemon had a more diverse team with them. Though it would make Du happy to see another fairy type enthusiast, she doubted any trainer would want the crippling handicap of having an entire team that was weak against the same type of pokemon. Some gyms, the type advantage would flourish while other gyms would do nothing but crush you time and time again. She could see where the challenge would appeal to some, but a pure type based team could be really disastrous if not planned out properly.
”Did your trainer give you a name, little one?” Du asked. ”My name is Dumuzi.” Niamh giggled not far off. ”Our human really loves Fairy types. It’s the only type that Du wants~! I’m going to be entered into a Beauty contest when we’re ready. I’m really excited for it, will your human enter you into Pokemon contests too? Kirilia opened her eye and rolled it over lazily towards Mime Jr. She wouldn’t admit it, but she dozed off while meditating and was only just recently stirred. ”Niamh, most humans take their pokemon to battle and train for that, I would assume that this Mime Jr’s trainer is going to do that same. Our human is… special… in that regard. It would probably be safe to assume that they will be pokemon for battling. Titania closed her eye again and readjusted her meditative posture. ”Then again, maybe her human will enter contests in the future after some badges are collected. So I suppose it would be foolish of me to exclude the possibility. Niamh tilted her head to the side, a rather amused but blank smile on her face as her tail wagged. There was a pause of silence. ”…so does that mean that that Mime’s human will enter her into contests then?” Her tail wagged harder. Titania’s hand smashed into her face with a solid clapping sound. ”Yes doll, it is a possibility.” ”Yay~! Good luck with them.” Arceus above… how did I get stuck with these pokemon? It’s going to be a long trip…’

Mime Jr listened attentively, with Ralts on the floor, looking up at her with a worried frown. He turned his head a bit, looking at some of the other pokemon, but looked back up when the person questioned Mimey in return. "I think Jay's more into bug pokemon!" Mime Jr replied happily, "But he caught a lot of fairy types a little ways back! That's how he got me! And my friend, Ralward!" Ralts shifted uncomfortably. "Th-that's not my name..." he huffed out a bit, tipping his head to the side, gaze cast down on the ground. Mime Jr seemed to ignore him. "He hasn't given me a nickname yet! But it's nice to meet you, Duzi!" she piped back. "Mimey..." Ralts muttered warningly, frowning again.
He fidgeted a bit, turning his head towards the sylveon as she spoke up, then down at the ground as the girl's kirlia spoke up. Mime Jr, however, looked between them, frowning, and then puffing out her cheeks a bit. "H-hey! Don't talk about me and my trainer like we're right here! You don't have to hypothesize when we can just tell you!" she huffed. "Mimey," Ralts urged, trying to jump up and tap his friend's foot to get her attention. Mime Jr continued to ignore him, though, looking back to Dumuzi, eager and curious once again. "Hey, are you--""Mimey, STOP!" Jumping up, Ralts grabbed her foot, pulling her down. The pink pokemon gave a yelp, tumbling onto the floor with her friend, and jumping up, quite obviously ready to start shouting at him-- but a nudge from behind cut her off, making her stumble forward a few steps.
"Ya need ta work on yer manners, Mahmy," Jacque muttered to the pokemon, retracting his boot from the little push he'd given her. He lifted his head, not looking at Dumuzi-- he couldn't really, after all, but raising his head up to show his face and address her general direction. "Sorry 'bout that," he apologized, "Mahmy's pretty nosey. Think she was just askin' 'cause ahm still tryin' ta find sum homes fer a few've thuh fairy types she mentioned. Don' suppose yer int'rested? Name's Jacque, bai thuh way." He'd overheard most of the conversation, but he'd been busy trying to wrap up the conversation with Nurse Joy, that it took him a moment to get over. He really hoped Mime Jr hadn't made herself look too much of a fool, or a brat, in front of the group, though.

As Mime when on, Du seemed interested in what the little pokemon had to say, his features became ever so slightly sad at the mention of Mimes trainer liking bugs more. He must have… been a real man then. Real men liked bug and fighting types, after all. As much as he tried to keep that note of bitterness in the past, it always seemed to bubble to the surface, especially after the Tanabata festival when Theo outed him at the dance. Ugh, he was going to have to deal with that sometime, but right now he was more than happy to just push it aside for now and listen to what this talkative little pokemon was saying. ”I see, well, it’s too bad that he doesn’t like fairy types as much as I do or he would have made a good team already with you and… Ralward? Or should I just call you Ralts?” He gave a bit of a curious look to Ralts as he bashfully looked away. He wasn’t sure if he should call him that or not, maybe it was a private name between the two pokemon
Dumuzi looked over at Mime with a slightly titled head at the next question that Mime was interested in something else, and by the looks of it, Du was going to be more than happy to answer it. The question just about came out of her mouth before the little pink pokemon tumbled to the ground after Ralward grabbed her leg and pulled her down, apparently trying to stop her from saying or asking what she was going to ask. Du gasped and pulled himself over to peer over the table. ”Are you two alright?!” Niamh’s head poked out from under Du’s arms. A little giggle was heard. ”You and your boyfriend are funny!” Niamh mused, her tail wagging quickly and her feelers clapping lightly in response to the show that had just occurred. Du gave a bit of an odd look over at her pokemon before turning her attention back to the pokemon that had sprawled out on the floor only to find a pair of cowboy boots nudging the curious little pink pokemon a little bit. Du looked up to see an orange hair boy had come over to the group. It didn’t take long to figure out that this young man was the owner of the Mime and the Ralts. Du straightened himself up and took a seat back where he was. When he was asked about ‘adopting’ some Fairy pokemon, Du perked up a bit. ”Certainly, I’d love to give some Fairy types a home. But…” Du trailed off a bit. ”I don’t have any pokemon to trade you for them.” Du thought for a moment before perking up and clapping his hands together ”But I do have some special pokeballs and a rage candy bar if you wanted to trade for those? They would help you on your way and it would help with capturing pokemon if you’re collecting them?” It was really the best that Du could offer at the moment, hopefully they could come to some sort of agreement, Du was going to have a long, hard road ahead of him if he was going to have to collect his pokemon one at a time… if he had to, he had to. But that would likely mean that he would have to take on another gym leader so that he could keep the obedience of his pokemon. That was something that made a heavy feeling of anxiety weigh down in his stomach. He would much rather try his luck with the contests rather than see his pokemon get hurt on his behalf again.
Du took a moment to try and read the young man a bit better, trying to see if he was interested in the slightest at the offerings of exchange between the items and the pokemon. It was doing this that Du noted that the man’s eyes had a milky cloud to them and he wasn’t focusing on Du as most people would. Du raised his eyebrows in surprise as he wasn’t expecting to meet a blind trainer on his journey. At first, he doubted that his pokeballs that he was collecting would be any use to a blind trainer, but then he remembered that he mentioned capturing them, so he clearly had some sort of method that he used.

Mime Jr huffed and brushed herself off, cheeks puffed out after she was scolded by Jay. Ralts just shuffled over a bit, frowning and looking at her, then turning towards Dumuzi. "You can just call me Ralts... Mimey's just being silly. She... makes up nicknames a lot, usually on the spot," he explained tapping his hands together a bit. Sort of like she had with 'Duzi'. She didn't really ask permission for it, either... she was a very brazen little pokemon, and he was pretty sure it was just a matter of time before it got her in trouble. Hopefully not with a pokemon that could thump her too bad...
Mime Jr looked over as Niamh laughed, but grinned, leaning forward and poking her own, clownish nose. "I know right? I'm hilarious!" she beamed. Ralts sighed, but didn't bother trying to chide her this time. She'd probably just get huffy again, or just ignore him, like before. Instead he shuffled over to stand closer to Jacque, putting a bit more distance between him and the unfamiliar pokemon. He still wasn't that attached, or even comfortable, with their trainer yet, but so long as Mimey was close, he'd rather be near familiar company than the unknown.
"We're fine, by the way," he added to Dumuzi, since Mimey seemed to be more interested in making funny faces to try and prove her boastful claim than answering the question, "Thanks for asking..." Jay had his head turned down slightly, Scy standing just behind him, but straightened when Dumuzi accepted the offer. He smiled, but frowned in confusion at the lingering 'but', tilting his head patiently to the side with a quirked eyebrow. He lifted a hand, though, waving away the concern. Before he could dismiss it, verbally, though, the other trainer mentioned some items, and he paused a moment, then nodded, lowering his hand. "Ya don' really need ta trade me'n even 'mount if'n ya don' want, but ya, items'll do just fine with me," he replied, then shifted towards the computer, nodding his head in the same direction. "D'ya know what it is yer lookin' fer? I got quite a few," he remarked.

”Alright, Ralts it is.” Dumuzi reassured the little pokemon as he seemed to fidget a little more at the sudden attention that he was being given. Du gave a bit of a sympathetic look to the little pokemon, he seemed to be rather uncomfortable around everything yet and he could guess that Ralts was a very new catch to Jay. His friend Mime seemed to be far more comfortable with Jay, which likely meant that Mime was on his team though Ralts wasn’t. Titania came up alongside Ralts and ruffled his hair in a sisterly way, she didn’t say anything, but at the same time she probably didn’t need to. Titania’s companions were going drive her nuts too. Perhaps this was a common occurrence for their breed when they came across other pokemon who could seem very alien in their way of thinking. Niamh on the other hand was more than happy to prance around Du as they seemed to be coming to get some new friends that were going to come to the contests with them and that was always exciting for Niamh, she knew that she was going to be a star because other humans said that she would, and now she was going to have more friends who were going to have lots of fun with her. Dumuzi got up and gathered her magazine and Tenanye, allowing Titania and Niamh to follow alongside him as they headed towards the computer so that Jay could fetch his pokemon. ”Oh gosh, I have so many that I’m hoping for and I don’t really want to sound greedy or anything.” Dumuzi paused for a moment as he thought of the best way to answer this. ”Well, how about I list off the pokemon that I was looking for and if you have them, you can let me know, and if you don’t then that’s fine too.” He didn’t know what Jay had for pokemon, but maybe if he had a couple of the pokemon that he could trade for them. ”Okay, so um… I was hoping to get a Carbink and a Mawile for my toughness contests, I was hoping for a Flabebe for Beauty. I was looking for Cottonee for Smart contests, Swirlix for cute… and a Snubull for Cool. Do you have any of those?” Alright, so if he narrowed down what he was looking for then they could go for there, she expected him to maybe have one or two of the pokemon and that would be a huge help for him. His luck was the pits for trying to find Fairy types, it would likely take forever to try and find those pokemon for him, and he had to worry about obedience too. Granted, if anything, he could smuggle himself into Hoenn again and hoped to heck that his mom didn’t find him so that he could challenge a contest or two to make sure that rebellion didn’t occur.
