She clapped her hands together, her grin reappearing "Great!" she stated. She listened quietly as Eric talked about the events they had seen in the future. Honestly, she was anxious as well. It would be anytime now before everything with Atlas would hit. She began thinking about it again and quietly took a sip of her drink, her ears drooping downwards slightly. It was during that future that she had come to know him and Shira. He didn't know that Herald went there as well. Not to mention, it really did seem to open his eyes. Hearing him speak, Kain, oddly enough, could sympathize with him, as he too, had been to the future. In that future, he and Shira were married and they had a child together. Seeing that made Kain want to become a better person for Shira and their future family. "It may be hard to believe, coming from me, but I understand what you mean." Kain told him, before glancing over at Shira. [b"A long time ago, I, along with a few others, traveled to the future as well. There, Shira and I had been married and we had a son. Back then, I was a different person. I didn't care what my future held, as I vowed that I would change it and write my own. However, after seeing what was to come, something changed within me. I no longer felt that way, I suddenly found myself wanting to be with her, to protect her, to love her and the child we would one day have. I promised to change myself, to become a better person, for her." Kain paused for a moment and then looked back at Herald. [b"However, that future has been erased and Shira and I have found ourselves starting back over, at square one, but yours and Emma's. You two have what me and Shira did not have back then. You two truly know and trust one another. You move in sync, you understand he others suffering and pain. You're not separate individuals, but one being, one mind and one body." Kain never really thought he would be having this kind of conversation with anyone, let alone Herald of all people, but that just goes to shows how different the two of them had become.

He looked over at Shira when she spoke. "Yeah. I didn't mean to make it sound like we were SOL. We can do it. We will do it. I just hate the waiting part. You know me, a man of action and all that." He grinned again. "Besides, you were pretty BA in that future so you have a lot to look forward to. Ah, I had a little apprentice as well. He took my place when he killed me. But I was totally okay with it. Long story."Herald listened quietly to Kain's response. "Yes, I heard about the first time all of you went to the future. You knew of Emma and I before me. I am indeed very fortunate to have Emma," Herald replied as he glanced over at his fiance. "But you seem to have reached the same conclusion about your future as I have. You can have with Shira again what you once had, as long as you keep what's truly important in mind." Herald sighed and rubbed his hand through his hair. "Listen to me, I sound like an old man now."WINS

 Looking at her wrist watch, she's amazed to see how fast time passed by. "Oh dear. I promised I would be early for my check up today."She leans closer and plants a kiss on Emit's cheek. "Try not to get into trouble alright? And if you see Jack, tell him he still has go and visit granpa."

Just a man whose finally found his place in this world." he added. Despite the differences the two of them had and their many battles, Kain and Herald were, oddly enough, more similar than either one would care to admit. "Well, how about a little change up in the conversation." Kain's expression then changed to one Herald would know all too well. It was the look of a man who was itching to battle. "Know any place where I can get in a good sparring session? I've gotten a little rusty since taking up residence at Charlotte's place."

"Yeah, there were definitely a few more...wrinkles than last time."Herald gave a short laugh when Kain told him what he thought about his words. "Well, perhaps you're right," he replied. He paused for a moment as he thought over Kain's question. "You know," he began, a smile forming on his face. "I hear the DWMA has some kind of Special Arena where we can fight some powerful enemies. I've never tried it but it might be....interesting."WINS

Meanwhile, after a while, Death straightened his posture a bit before clapping his hands to get everyone's attention "Well then. It seemed the events for tonight are wrapping up. I would like to thank all of you for coming and making this a great reboot of our yearly parties. Have a safe trip back to your respective homes and I would also like to say 'Happy New Year!' I wish all of you the best and may this year be better than the last," he said as the party seemed to be coming to a close. Quite a few people applauded in response to Death's mini speech before the guests began taking their leave. Victoria had heard the speech and stood up, dusting herself off before taking her plate. She smiled at Nariaki and bowed in front of him "Thank you for talking with me. I hope you can come over soon!" she said with a smile before running off. She seemed to know exactly where her mom as as the crimson haired girl swerved through the crowd and ended up hugging her mom's leg. Charlotte looked down at the girl in smiled at her before patting her head "Did you have fun?" she asked. Victoria grinned up at her and nodded in reply. ▬ ▬ ▬

She recalled her future self saying that Atlas' power level was rather unknown and unpredictable. "More than just wrinkles..." Emma muttered, sticking her tongue out as she mentally counted how many people were dead in that future.
